Upon the re-branding of Style Network to Esquire Network on September 23, 2013, G4 was dropped from all Time Warner Cable systems, citing the network's low viewership as "(not a) good value for our customers".[37] Verizon FiOS also discontinued the channel on October 1, 2013, and Cablevision did so on October 10, 2013, pursuant to a filing with the the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control (that state's utility service regulator) a month prior, that NBCUniversal had plans to discontinue G4's operations as of October 10, 2013.[38] Comcast, which is G4's parent company, has announced in mid-October that it would remove G4 from its cable systems in January 2014.[39] Although Comcast is G4's parent company, it has not been stated outright that the network will cease operations entirely at that time. Comcast's Upcoming Contract Renewals page shows G4 listed as "Comcast ceasing distribution" in January.[40] Late in October 2013, Charter Communications, which was one of the charter carriers of TechTV when it was a sister of that network under the ownership of Vulcan Ventures, announced its intention to drop G4 on or after December 17; sister network Cloo will replace G4 on its systems.[41]. On November 1st, Dish Network announced that it had removed G4 from its lineup.

While G4 continues to be carried on other cable systems nationwide, despite losing the largest two markets in September and the third and fourth largest DMAs slated to largely lose G4 in January 2014, no official statements have been given by NBCUniversal as to if and when the network will end directly, although G4 is no longer listed as an asset of NBCU on either their corporate website or NBCUniversal's "Media Village" press site.[42]

So while its pretty much been known that the channel has been dead, it appears to now be truly being removed. Just today, I found Dish will be removing it as well. Just thought I'd drop this here.

DirecTV already dumped it, so the writing was really on the wall in 2010. I'm glad Sessler got out well before everything hit the fan, though.

I'm sad to see a channel I once loved die like that, but I'm glad that the greedy bastards that tried transforming the channel from "videogame television" into a Spike-wannabe reapt what they sew.

Attack of the Show, and X-Play, we're the two shows on G4 that I spend most of my time watching.
Unfortunately they had to cancel both of them, and now the channel is full of repetitive repeats. :\
