Thank you for adding evidence st3vao! Hopefully PD will fix this with the next update.

I’ve given up playing the game now, I think it’s no fit for purpose since this new issue, what else is good for ps4 online racing ?

I'm experiencing the same thing. I don't lose time during the short freezes and the other cars are in the same position as before. But is a pain.....
Could it be a bandwidth problem?

Strange how the game replay doesn't capture it the way it actually happens. As others have mentioned, when the game is "live" it is a complete freeze for 1 - 2 seconds, but the replay just shows me instantaneously losing 2 positions. Really sucks, especially in a tight battle at the front of a GTWS event. Sport mode is basically unplayable in any kind of competitive manner until this is sorted.

Oh that’s really bad news, I stopped playing this week with a hope todays update would fix it. What a big shame:

I was hoping this was going to be fixed. How can PD keep releasing new content for a broken game?
Maybe they didn't have time to find a fix. My guess is that 1.27 was ready to go when 1.26 dropped and they didn't have time to shoehorn in a solution within 1.27. If this issue is still not fixed in January's update, then that's more damning IMO.

Interesting comment from my YouTube channel, could it only be affecting ps4 AND fanatec gt dd pro users?
In the video I embedded earlier in the thread, a controller user was also affected, so no, it's not a Fanatec issue.

If anyone is interested to see what this looks like from the outside, it happens around 24:52 in this video.

Have any of you with this bug tried reinstalling the game?
Btw I'm also a Fanatec user and have these freezes.

Also experiencing this issue. GT DD Pro user. Has anyone tried updating the firmware of the steering wheel? Mine is still running the software it came out of the box with. Currently at work or I would try it myself.

It was said that controller users also have this issue, so it's not related to the steering wheel or its firmware either.

It is a PS4 issue, believed that the game software is having trouble with the slower clock rate of the PS4 when it is more comfortable with the higher speed of the PS5

Thanks jrbabbitt, that makes sense. Do you have any idea why not every ps4 user is experiencing this?
