It actually dropped?
Don't worry, the gas prices won't go doww for a couple of days, just in time to go back up.

Yet, somehow they can go up multiple times in a day with the price of oil. You can't blame a guy for being quick to avoid losses and slow to decrease profits.

However, I am glad to say that I have yet to pay more than $2.89. Between truck stops and my Kroger Plus (discount) card I have done well.

Although nothing beat the time when at Meijer I got a $1 off/gallon coupon for using my Mastercard debit card on groceries. I paid $1.25 then.

Yeh, a few years ago we were paying $1.05 a gallon. Then $1.99, and we started complaining. Wlell now its at $3.35.
All I can say is that I hope it keeps going down--tho that seems highly unlikely :(

Looks like high prices are here to stay - at least according to the futures gurus. That's obviously just a guess, but I'll be it's right.

In fact, I'll bet prices go up some more next year too - unless we manage to do anything other than keep demand from growing.

Here's what I love about this situation. Environmental regulations and legislation and lots of famous people pleading for conservation did bubkus (sp?) to stop demand from growing. But prices go up $1/gallon and all of the sudden we have a recordbreaking first time ever oh my god demand didn't go up kind of situation.

I love the market.

The next step is for prices to go up enough to actually reduce demand. Then we'll see some fun.

Paid about $3.04/gallon yesterday.
Edit: Oops, sorry. I thought this was the "how much did you pay for gas" thread. :ouch:

I cringe at the thought of what that price might be :scared: Almost nobody is being priced-out right now, despite the seemingly high $3.15/gallon.

Hybrids are selling for more used than they cost new, busses are filling up, carpools are forming. The fact that demand has levelled off suggests that people are already finding ways to conserve. The average American can substantially reduce his gasoline consumption fairly easily. I think if prices went up only a slight amount from here demand might decrease. The first step was to stop the increase, and that's happened (for now).

It sure has. I went to look at cars Wednesday. At Honda dealer, they said that they were out of Fit for about a month. Toyota dealer had just sold the last Yaris model. I heard the funniest thing at the Honda dealer. Salesman I talked to asked if the Altima I drove in on was a V-6 or 4 cylinder. I told him it's a 4, he goes, "good, it's so hard to move V-6s right now, we don't really want them".

It's all in the trending... we always get the great and powerful affordable cars (Vettes and Mustangs don't count... they sell for other reasons... ) right before the crash.

I've always said the second coming of the Z was the herald for another oil crisis... seems I was right...

Gas prices are going up around BC since summer is almost here. Summer means travels. Gas prices are insane around here. We pay $1.21/L while in Alberta they pay less than a $1.00/L. 40-cent federal tax, damn you.
