General San Andreas Discussion and Questions

That's great, never knew Google did it.

Ours is in Metres so that's fine for me. Maybe people are used to using Feet, so they type it in as that. I don't know. We use the same system as the UK, so we should be the same anyway.

You're going to have to decide which way to put it into the recordbook. People with distances in feet will have to convert to meters if the record book is in meters and vice versa.

KM.

Yeah, I'll decide. I don't particularly want to have to do that. I think Metres is the way to go. Who here has it in Feet? Need to know.

I think only PAL users have it in metres as opposed to having the stats in feet for NTSC users... and considering that most of the people on this website are from North America and are all largely NTSC users, you might wanna consider putting the Record Book in feet.

Just a suggestion. Did I write that right? :dunce:

Why the hell didn't Rockstar just stick with the Vice City method for distance travelled. Everyone can appreciate and understand long distances given in miles.

I can understand it for jumps, stoppies, etc. because different areas are used to imperial or metric measurements. At least they could have used yards because 1 yard ~= 1 meter. It's easy to compare stats that way and it gives you a rough idea that someone with a 1000 yard wheelie is roughly as good as someone with a 1000 metre wheelie.

In my Vice City game I had driven some 3000 miles by car and some 1500 miles by bike. I can translate that into the real world, but who the hell can really understand what 800,000 feet or 1,300,000 meters means without converting it? Very long distances given in feet or metres are pretty much meaningless without converting into miles or kilometres.

KM.

Metres is good becaus you can convert it by dividing by 1000 into kilometres.

True, but most people I know still think of distance in miles or speed in miles per hour. I'm pretty numerate so I can convert accurately enough on the fly but I still think in miles when it comes to long distances.

When it comes to short distances I tend to think of metres and yards as pretty much the same. There's only a 10% difference so there's no real need to convert in order to get a rough idea of distance or length or whatever.

I just wish Rockstar were consistent. It would at least make record books like the one Jimmy has just opened much easier to deal with.

In Australia not many people are familiar with miles. So to us its better this way.

There's a Desert Eagle to the right of Zero's RC Shop

I always walk right past what I've been looking for.:grumpy:

As a thanks, you probably know this already being wise and all, but the heat-seeking rocket launcher is behind one of the gas cylinders in San Fierro Airport.:)

I just took my custom Sultan (now looks like the WRC Impreza even the paint) to the car Valet guys and a Valet driver hopped in to take my car to the car park and as he was driving it he used my nitrous the bastard :irked:... looked funny.

Yeah a bunch of Ballas were trying to kill me and steal my Range Rover(Huntely). They use nitrous everytime they get in a car with it. Luckily I was in Denise's driveway and they hit the nitrous and hit the house.

 The Valet guy also crashed the car over a small wall on his way out, then parked my car with one wheel up the curb on a angle in the carpark. I found it quite amusing :)

I'd valet better then them. Once I get it back I'll do a few of them then continue on with storyline missions. I'm getting SA back Saturday.:-D

You can duel wield smaller SMGs and handguns I think, but not the SMG, AK47 or M4.

I've got hitman for the SMG and AK47. Obviously you can't duel wield a weapon like the AK47 or M4. Who can operate an assault rifle with one hand?

KM.

John Rambo.... :)

Once I get SA tomorrow and get the Desert Eagle. I'm going on a spree. To be not so ruthless i'll go to the ammu-nation shooting range.;)

the blasted Targeting system is total crap! I was just in a shoot out in one of the country towns: Swat guys had repelled down from the POLICE chopper but i had cover from them (was on a covered front porch) there were some blown up semis around the front of the house (via RPG :mischievous: ) and a swat guy came into my line of fire, he was about 10ft in front of me, clear line of sight, yet i hit R1 and CJ targets something behind one of the damned blown up Semi's!!!!!! Someone tell me that this is not a bugged system!?!?!

I'm at about 38% and have just opened up Las Venturas--- I skipped Zeroes missions & truckers missions....

I did do R3 missions: taxi, Firefighter, Pimping--- 24 tags srayed, 14 jumps, 1 oyster, 2 snapshots, bloodring

Im goin ok atm, i cant do the first of Zeroes missions and ive done 5 or 6 trucker missions and i havent done any R3 missions

49%.

I laughed at the John Rambo quote, Spuds. Smart ass!

Also, you don't have to do Zero's missions. In my opinion, they are the hardest in the game, especially the first one. I haven't had as much trouble with any other mission. It seems so simple. Curse you Berkley! You cost me playing time! Curse you!

I dont understand why people are having so much trouble with the Zero missions? They are alittle tricky but you should have it after a couple attempts.

Not me. Failed it near 20 times. It was crazy. I kept getting it in the dark as well, which didn't help. It was just mayhem. In the end, I just owned it. Funny how 1 time, you get absolutely owned by a mission, and the next try, you kick it's ass.

In my opinion, they are the hardest in the game, especially the first one.

The first one is the easiest! I got it done on the first try! Just minigun all those damn bandits! Yes, I was left with maybe a quarter left of health on the transmitters or whatever. But I got it done the first time. The minigun was fun.:D But yes the second one I find impossible because you have to go far, far away to set up your shot, and the first run doesn't kill them.:grumpy:

Just finished OG Loc's "Management Issues." Besides Sweet's last mission where you shoot from the back of the bike with the Mini-SMG, i'd say it's one of the best in the game. I had half a mind to get out and gun down that noisy b*tch in the car, though.

Speaking of Sweet's last mission: i'm clueless, who were those thugs?

I think 102 or 103.
Right now i'm doing the Trucking asset and that last assignment is really starting to get to me.Everytime i get near the destination the feds manage to blow up my truck.I just can't pass it.
