I was also dissapointed in the map size too. All we get is just the C1 loop, Shibuya and a few extension of the C1? What happened to Yokohane and the entire Wangan?

While shinjuku and shibuya routes are cool and all, I remember it being said that wangan was not in ITC because the road was under reconstruction during the mapping process of the game. That obviously prevented genki from mapping any current wangan changes at the time. But what really made me believe it was one of the game personas in the shibaura parking area said that wangan was closed down for road construction and the work was being run by men in black suits..

I think the lack of maps is due to the same reason as the lack of cars--either they ran out of time or money.
It always seemed like an ambitious project that got shoved out the door unfinished.

It's like how there are some cars still in the game data for TXR3 but were unfinished. Also in TXR3 not all cars had the same amount of customisation, some cars only had 1 different bodykit and that was it... :indiff:

Yet it still stays as one of my favorite if not my top game ever.

Let's just hope that this new TXR will have all the areas we know: C1, Shinkanjo, Yokohane, Wangan, Shibuya, Shinjuku and the Yokohane loop.

It would be nice too if they readd Yaesu.

And maybe, just maybe... the C2 Central Circular Loop?

When do you guys think they will announce their game? Does Genki have a history of attending TGS?

Hopefully I'm not the only one that 100% believes a new TXR is imminent. I've always felt that their tweet was just a ploy to get their old fans to spread the news for them and that it's been in development for a while now. If you guys remember when the PS4 was unveiled, Genki appeared to be one of the developers promised to be working on a PS4 title.

That and 2015 to me has been an unbelievable year for announcing games that we've been asking for but thought would never exist (Toejam & Earl, Last Guardian, FF7R, Shenmue 3, Nier 2, NFS reboot). So at this point, why not believe in a new TXR?

If they're seriously thinking of adding the newer cars like the R35, I hope that Speed King will return in a Calsonic lookalike R35

This thing just screams PURE POWER

I was disappointed when he changed to a mere Impreza in ITC. I can accept him driving an Impreza for Drift 2 since Impreza are the king of the rally, but in ITC we're not in Hokkaido rally anymore Jintei, we're back on the Tarmac of the Shutokou.

LOL. This is my opinion but you know it's quite extreme seeing someone doing illegal street racing in a GT3 R34 right? I do admire his R34 and it wouldn't be a bad transition to the R35 but it wasn't a bad approach for transitioning to a Impreza either.

Also Jintei isn't the only one that made this strange transition to a car from a different manufacture in Drift 2. Jacknife and possibly a few other members from the 13 Devils did the same thing. Remember when Jacknife use to drive a Sileighty and Silvia? Here on Drift 2 he drives a RX7. I don't have any screenshots of his RX7 yet and can't take one from my copy of Drift 2 right now because I have people painting my room at the moment but you probably already know this.

Is it time for the hype train?

I have some news gentlemen.

First of all, Genki seems to be giving away a car in a raffle. This in itself wouldn't be noteworthy but....

The racing division of Genki has been defunct since around 2008. Draw your own conclusions there....

Furthermore, this article was posted.
http://www.4gamer.net/games/054/G005495/20150724104/ Google translate is ineffective, but it seems that Genki is serious about a revival, and may have already begun development!

All that's missing are the Kanji on the door, and we've got Jintei's new car.

From where I stand, I can only see Jintei having a racing styled bodykit at the least, they have had that style since 0 until ITC.

But 3 has a more street style to it. But in my opinion I'd only see Jintei in something wide looking with big aero! :D

Ewww no. It should be a Super GT car, just like the R34 was a race car.

I just don't see it happening now. If the game comes out and it is, I'll happily eat crow. SuperGT cars are awesome and all, but it's kinda crazy to have Jintei on the road in one.

EDIT: Is there a SuperGT dedicated game, like the F1 games? That'd be awesome.
EDIT2: Google only returned some mods for rFactor and GT5.:nervous:

Well, the same goes for the Red devil, he has the most weird design in every game. (Which is magnificent!)

But if they don't have the Red meteor kit back to the 0 form as well, I'll flip a table.

Yeah, I think Red Devil is based on a Gundam actually. I remeber hearing that a while back anyways.

That's why it's called Tokyo Xtreme Racers duh.

To me just because of the name that doesn't really help much after looking at all the TXR games past TXR0. That's sort of like saying that because NFS Most Wanted 2005 has the BMW M3 GTR Race Variant, they should rename it to Need For Speed Illegal Super GT Street Racer. All TXR games after TXR0, they started to move away with bosses driving race cars and gave them more proper modified cars. Also the game is also known as Shutokou Battle *which I believe is the original name of TXR* so the name doesn't help at all explaining it. I don't mind them going extreme with adding cars that are based on Super GT or Touring cars but it's not like I work for Genki or anything so I can't go ahead and tell them "Add this" or "Don't add that".

I'm not saying Speed King / Jintei should never go back to using a Calsonic R34, it's just what I thought about him transitioning to a Subaru. Disagree or agree, I don't mind.

What about the Kaido Battle games? They're called TXR in NA yet they don't take place in Tokyo!
Drift 1 *Also known as Kaido Battle 2 in Japan* is set between the events of TXR0 and 3 so that pretty much answers your question on why they are considered Tokyo Xtreme Racer games. As for Drift 2, well I'm not sure but the 13 Devils are in it and originally they first made their debut in the main TXR games so still it pretty much answers your question.

'Ichi Attack and Death' would look good on a Jintei R35. I made both a blue r35 with Speed Kings vinyls and Jintei vinyls on an r34 in forza horizon 2 along with a few other racers from TXR: Jacknife, death driver, golden wisdom from phantom 9 (ITC), and blackbird. TXR0 to me seems like the only TXR in the series where all 13 Devils and 12 zodiacs were active. I want genki to bring them all back and give White Charisma the rightful spot as #1 in the new TXR. Every Time I read the bio of speed king all I see is him being the number one racer, as if genki forgot that devil z and white charisma were both clearly faster, it's annoying. White charisma was the fastest in most TXR's excluding ???. I don't even know how WC became so slow in ITC. My rx7 could pull on him in that game.

Checking in, signed up because I came across this thread when I was searching for new shutokou battle info.

I was hooked on TXRZ in middle school. I remember ordering Shutokou Battle Zero One from a local Japanese video store and going to China Town to buy the swap magic disc to play it. Good times.

Just like everyone else, I can't wait to see a new one!

I really hope they make a new TRX, I still play TRX0 and TRX3 on my old ps2 once every year and stil having a good time with them!

Heres a video of someone doing a time attack on the C2 Central Circular Route in WMMT5.

Wouldn't it be great to have this in the new TXR?

I think new routes would be a great idea for the new TXR actually, they because they could add a lot more teams to battle, and more wanderers which means more replayability and fun! :D

Looking good, next time I'm online I need to get that if it is on the storefront?

Thanks, I would but I like to have vinyls that are uncommon. I feel like this vinyl set is gonna spread all over people's cars. I'm thinking of making ITC vinyl version of King Speed. Already made the TXR0 and TXR3 versions...
