where did you order it..i have a pal copy of fc but i can buy an US version for the new patch and 599 sure..

Target online which can also be found through Amazon.

Yes, the deadzone.. Forgot the correct name for it ;)

But yes, the game automatically DL the patch once I put in the disc.
I play with the forcefeedback both on MED and HIGH, in both I still noticed the dead zone. (I like that you can play around with these settings without leaving a race ;))

So on the case it says I would be able to DL cars from PS Store.. I never remeber seeing anything from FC in Store...

So far I am still practicing before I go into the Race to win other cars.

By the way. I was trying to design my own F430 design. How Can I delete the stickers that already come with the race car? I would like to put my own number, name, etc.. How do I delete them?

The F430 cars come with "team" markings - you can add to them, but you cannot delete the stickers that are already there.

The deadzone, & a lot of other FC "issues" have already been discussed a lot in various threads. Personally, I generally set the FFB on Medium, which leaves a bit of deadzone - it makes steering a little trickier, but with time you get used to it.

Yes, Medium really felt better over high.
I just came from work.. Whenever I get a new game.. I always have something else to do.. and when I dont buy a game, I have nothing to do.. Hopefully tonight I'll practice bit more!

So far I like it!

But I still complain about graphics! Terrible on the eyes.. They need to get rid of CHEAP bloom effects and go with HDR.

How much HDD space does the game take up? I have like 9gb left.

I do not think you need to install anything from it to HDD. Just save data. I pop it in and play

GT5P takes up about 9 gigs now on my HDD. But I have a 160gig ps3.. So no worries what so ever! :D

Its really bad to say that 60gig is just not big enough! I am about to buy a 320gig HDD so I don't have to sweat the space issues.

i just played my very first quick race, no assists except for ABS1
and i have to say it was some good fun
anyone have any recommendation on settings (steering, pedal sensitivity, etc.)
thanks

I just got this game last week used for about $20 US (with a trade in). It has taken me a little while to get used to but I like it so far. The graphics seem okay not great but okay. I haven't spent enough time playing yet to progress real far but so far so good.

It's really a matter of personal preference but I set the FFB on high, steering sensitivity to medium and pedal sensitivity to low.

I believe setting the steering sensitivity to low would probably be closer to real life but the dead zone is just too pronounced that way.

thanks, i'll try out some settings
im on medium for steering sensitivity and i havent really noticed a deadzone, but maybe i havent been playing for that long
what ABS setting does everyone use?

None. ;) I gradually got rid of the assists and feel it's more challenging and interesting without them. But an important distinction is that you can NOT turn the ABS off in the F430 Challenge. It's always on.

Thats again jjaisli
I've got another quick question,
for completing the game, is it best to start with the arcade mode (that is after spending some time with tiff ;))?
The game seems very overwhelming from the get-go...

I myself unlocked all the cars and tracks in Challenge Mode. But in retrospect, it's probably much more interesting and beneficial to do it in Trophy Mode. It will probably take you longer but has the benefit of allowing you to race different cars in the process. (In Challenge mode, even though you're unlocking all the cars and tracks, you always do so while racing the F430, which to be honest, is certainly not my favorite car).

The game may seem a little overwhelming at first but I'm sure you'll find after a few days it will 'come' to you.

No! I think arcade mode is NOT a good place to start. I unlocked most of the cars in Challenge mode - it's true that you're stuck with the F430, but it does give you an opportunity to familiarise yourself with the tracks without having to adjust to all the different cars. You can then go on and do Trophy mode.

thanks Biggles,
last night i unlocked the 348 challenge after beating my first challenge mode
im really liking this game :)
another question, the clutch does work in this game right?
for some reason, the 348 doesnt seem to have a clutch (im using a G25)

I've got this game on order from PLAY.com but I don't have a wheel. Just not possible at the moment. As far as GT5P goes, I'm fairly competitive. Well... top half of the pack online with a controller. How does anyone else manage with a controller in FC.

[edit] Haha. 5 minutes after posting this, FC popped through my letterbox! Guess I'll find out myself whether I can manage it!

FC is very controller friendly, in fact controller users are the ones getting the top times (not sure about Piotr, I think he uses a wheel), so you won't have any troubles.

Thats good that the pad is fairly easy to use on FC. I'll probably be doing my ROC race with the pad because I will be at someone elses house on the weekend. A shame, I'd prefer to use my wheel but I can't.

Just picked this up cheap and I'm really enjoying it! Its the first console racing game I've played this gen that feels 'right' when I'm playing it.

On the downside, it does bring home to me just how much content there was in GT4 and makes me want GT5 to be released all the more. However, even within its relatively narrow scope (nothing but Ferrarris to drive - it could be worse i guess :P) there does seem to be a lot to do and with the few cars I've unlocked so far I can definitely notice the difference between models. A proper damage model and the ability to race different models against each other (the game could group cars of similar performance levels within bands) is pretty much all it lacks.
