Sadly, I don't own one. I wouldn't worry about that though, I'd be surprised if an HD video isn't uploaded to the 'internets' within 5 hours, frankly.

I don't think they'll waste an extra bluray (for each box) just for a bunch of trailers that will definitely be all over the net a few days after the release.

I preordered this on Sunday. I'm very excited about this game, but you know what's ironic? The first thing I'll do when firing this baby up will not be play GOW3... It will be launch the GT5 trailer and watch it as many times I can over an hour. Just like the E3 trailer.

It would be awesome if they forced you to finish the game before the trailer is unlocked.

Why would they bother showing a trailer that every single player already knows? Everything is already on hundreds of websites like granturismo.com, youtube, gametrailers, taxigamer, gamespot, ign, gameblog.fr, jeuxvideo.com, multiplayer.it.....

Several months before the game came out, pizza hut gave a demo disc with purchase of a pizza or whatever. It was race on Rome circuit with the EVO, a Mustang I think and maybe other cars.

It was a bit rough but quite a big deal, as Gran Turismo became my life and GT2 was fixin to be HUGE.

I don´t think that they need any advertisement for GT5... The game will sell like hell... The BIG problem ist that the game is still not out...

I´ve seen a lot of very angry comments in many PS3 blogs, PS3 news and other gaming pages... Not only we get sucked that the game is still in development, the none GT hardcore fans are frustrtated too...

Oh I have no doubt it will sell with or without the trailer, but they do put out promotional media, so why not put it out to people that don't normally see this stuff. Just because it will sell a lot doesn't mean they don't want to sell to more people.

It doesn't need any advertisement for us, but there are many new players out there who are just waiting to meet the legendary series for the first time. Sony will make tv commercials, no doubt. Just like they did with Heavy Rain and will definitely do with GOW3.
New PS3 esclusives' commercials use the same word to begin a sentence:
"Start..."

No I have to agree with him. The advert for Heavy Rain has actually made me less likely to buy the game. Too much commentary, too much going on.

The ads would both be 100x better without the crappy commentary.

There was a GT4 ad, with a DB9 stopping at Deep Forest to look at the view. There was no commentary at all I don't think, just ambient background noise and stunning visuals, with a written slogan of some sort at the end of the ad. Thats what a GT ad should be like. (I can't find the video of it :/)

My perfect GT ad would begin by a NASCAR style ''Gentlemen, stary your engines'' and then footage of NASCAR and some of the rest.

I just thought of something... PD's more recent official (not car specific or GTPSP) trailers, the E3 and AGS trailers were kinda the same thing, but they added new footage and added different camera angles to it. Do you think PD may go that route again?

Come on! there is no need to go so far as to compare the advertisements for other games... Just look at GT PSP! They made a lot of fuss about this game, blog posts, PSP bundles with the game, contests, not to mention the attention GT academy is getting. Have no doubt, GT5 will have a grand advertising scheme and there might (don't know how possible this might be, but it certainly isn't without precedent) even be GT5 PS3 bundles. Whether GT needs adverstising or not is actually irrelevant. They will make a lot of fuss about this game, after all it's one of their most profitable exclusives.
