I'm skeptical, 1GB per second could never actually be achieved, could it? According to Speedtest I have roughly 30 MBps right now, and that loads things quickly for me as is.

It's gigabits, not Bytes.

The NBN will be real ADSL2+ for us.
And when the rest of the world gets ADSL4++ we will just get ADSL3.
