WTF does Hamilton deserve bad luck for? For simply driving like a natural talent all season? For putting in fantastic performances that have gotten him to within touching distance of the Championship?

Nobody deserves it, I just said it was his turn...

And Raikkonen? And Massa? And on the track, Alonso?

I said it, and I'll say it again - none deserved that luck. It's just Hamilton's turn to have something break.

1st: Massa
2nd: Hamilton
3rd: Heidfeld
4th: Raikkonen
5th: Alonso
6th: Kubica
7th: Kovalinen
8th: Button

I hope Lewis gets this. I wouldn't want Alonso to win the championship.

Word. Lewis deserves the driver's c'ship and Ferrari deserves the constructors.

Not really, I just fail to see how Hamilton has been smug, he's talked sense and spoken the truth. Then again...with what the Spanish have said about him and his family, I'm not really surprised at any Spaniards reaction towards him . I actually liked and respected Alonso up until this season when he became 6 years old and started PMSing all over the place.

Let me ask this, if it's all down to "having Ferrari in his car", then why have Ferrari been so unreliable and average? If their car was really that good and that beneficial towards McLaren's, they'd have done a lot better. Simply put, Ferrari have not been the better car. They have been unreliable and slow, McLaren have been slow at times but always reliable. Is that a crime just because some other team other than Ferrari are bullet proof for a season?

On a side note, I'd also like to add that this is an opinion shared by several F1 fans I regularly watch the races with who don't even support McLaren or Hamilton and who also agree the unbelievable hostility from some towards Hamilton is not only unwarranted but unnecessary.

Spoken the truth... Heee... Yeah. Just like he didn't use the -****- word in Hungary, right? ;)

I've read your whole post, but honestly, I don't feel like trying to debate your points. It would lead us to nowhere, since I hate Hamilton's falsety (to my eyes) with all my guts and you have him atop an altar. Too biased to see past our noses. :P

Well Im going to predict:

1. Kimi
2. Hamilton
3. Alonso
4. Heidfeild
5. Massa
6. Webber
7. Fisi
8. Rosberg
9. Couthard
10. Kubica

4th: Raikkonen
5th: Alonso
6th: Kubica
7th: Kovalinen
8th: Button

that would be my prediction for Brazil. For China I think Raikkonen will do better than 4th.

The ferrari's will be strong at china, the thing we need to know is how close can the mclarens get..

Wait, are they using a metal underbody? Or was it some damage underneath the car? Whatever it is, its down right awesome!
🤬, Another Ferrari-McLaren battle, but Nakajima 9th? Well the Williams seems fast during practice but come the race, its totally different 👎

Looks like Hamilton is now getting 0 feedback from Alonso - and if things continue like this, it may well still be a tight finish in Brazil. And Liuzzi is doing well!

You aren't still buying this pathetic excuse from Alonso are you? Heck, if you are really going to believe what Alonso says then explain last week where Hamilton out qualified and out paced him in the race?

Alonso made the same claim early in the season, and said he stopped giving him "help" way back then... and still miraculously Hamilton has beaten his times on several occasions... maybe Alonso should be asking help from Hamilton? Seriously, even Alonso stopped using this excuse a while back after Hamilton continued to still beat his times.

Besides, let's assume for just a second they use the same set up the whole year... which I seriously doubt considering physical differences and driving styles, but if they are the same, then that just makes Alonso losing to Hamilton even more evidence that Hamilton is the better driver... which I don't think Alonso is trying to point out.

Maybe you were just being sarcastic and you forgot to put the ";)" at the end.

Nope, I'm just referring to comments stating that he's struggling with his setup.

And Alonso, obviously, doesn't appear to be. As Blake noticed, the two McLarens use different rear wings, as well.

And Alonso, obviously, doesn't appear to be.
So Hamilton was only 1 tenth of a second slower in session 1 and 2.6 tenths of a second slower in session 2 and that’s how you determined Hamilton is struggling and Alonso isn't?

If you are going to make claims of struggling, I would think Hamilton would have to be well off pace, and several spots back in the field... not just two spots back of Alonso in practice sessions. If that's what you consider struggling, I suspect there are 18 other drivers that wish they were "struggling" like Hamilton, most of which who are more than a second slower than Hamilton.

Besides, let us also not forget that all Hamilton has to do to win the championship is to earn just 9 points in two races... and that's only if Alonso wins both races. So while Alonso has to push his car to it's max, Hamilton doesn't have to... yet he still seems to be posting very similar lap times... so again, this is hardly any evidence that Hamilton is "struggling".

I agree with you. Kudos to the photographer who took the picture.:sly:👍

Alright people. Listen to what the prophets have to say!

Weather-prophets, that is.

Strong rain possible:
http://formula-1.updatesport.com/ne...kender/Typhoon-threatens-Chinese-GP/view.html

Confirmed by AccuWeather:
Saturday: Weather
Sunday: Weather
There was some mention of a typhoon forming in that article at the first link you gave. And according to the hourly forecast that AccuWeather has, the storms may start overnight Saturday and go into Sunday and might be raining during the race. Has me wondering if the rain will be as intense as the storms that took place during the Japanese Grand Prix last week.:ill:

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but is the main grandstand at the track has the grid and pit lane under any sort of cover or roof overhead? If my memory is serving me right, my guess is that may be the only dry spot on the track come race time if it's raining.

Saturday Final Practice Session Results:

20071006_R16_P3.jpg

No big surprises leading up to qualifying. The "Elite 4" are all within about 1/4 of a second of each other. Ralf's time isn't a shock either. Toyota has often done well in practice... but rarely in qualifying. I suspect Ralf is trying to go out with a bang... although what kind of "Bang" is yet to be determined. ;)

As for what would make the most interesting final two races, consider the following scenario:

China Race Results:
  • P1 = Kimi
  • P6 = Alonso
  • P8 = Hamilton
Brazil race Results:
  • P1 = Alonso
  • P2 = Kimi
  • P9 = Hamilton
Unless I'm mistaken, that would result in a three way tie, with each driver having 108 points.

Kimi and Alonso would win the first tie breaker round by having 5 wins each compared to Hamilton with 4.

Kimi and Alonso would continue the tie breaker through round two by having the same amount of second place finishes (4).

Kimi wins the Championship tie breaker in the third round by having 4 third place finishes compared to only three for Alonso...

Kimi Raikkonen wins the 2007 Championship.

Likelihood? Less than 1% chance, but still, it would make for a wild ending to a wild season in F1. :)

Wait ... I was under the impression they did a countback in the event of a tiebreaker; if Kimi and Alonso won in Shanghai and Sao Paulo respectively, Alonso would take the title because he'd won the final round.

But then again, maybe I'm confusing it with old rules or another series ...

I suspect Ralf is trying to go out with a bang...
Wouldn't common sense dictate that if he gave this effort in every race, he woldn't worry about his team firing him? Or does that make too much sense?
