Just to clear it up and hopefully this helps.

In order for us to know how many and what makes are available to select from we do the car selection process in 2 stages first is to reserve your car from the previous season and essentially freeze the car if you want to keep the same car for the upcoming season after the deadline closes I will wipe the remaining drivers who have not said anything about freezing their car off the car list and post a message showing what cars and how many are available and up for grabs. Then it's a free for all first come first serve process up to the mock race the following saturday

Correct that is season 1 race 1 but that was not the inaugural race. Season 1 was actually ended up being called a pre season. @Whitey093 won the first ever race held under the ARL banner
