Thanks for letting me race last night. Sorry i ducked out early but it was already midnight my time and i was about to get lapped.

My thought was to just exit the race without impeding any of the leaders.

I'll try and make next weeks race and am definately interested in the Wednesday series.

Iff its possible and not to much work I would like seeing the overall results for the race yesterday and next week for the next race etc :)

Hey guys I just wanted to address a issue that was brought up last night. First off I just want to say thank you to everyone who showed up and I apologize for the problems the servers caused and commend everyone for their patience while we dealt with the delays. I noticed last night there were a few issues with lapped traffic that we wanted to address. when a driver is getting the blue flags please use caution on both ends the driver being shown the blue flag needs to not impede the faster driver that’s why we use the flags. The driver being shown the blue flags gets the warning very early and if everyone uses the radar you can see cars that are around you and not to mention checking the track map if you go off track don’t just jump back on track please use caution and try your best to not wreck or interrupt anyone else’s race. If your in a battle and find yourself being put a lap down the best way to do so without losing time is to not block the faster driver and let them pass when there is a clear track to pass use blinkers if you need to so the faster driver and you communicate on where to pass what side to pass ect. I do this a lot when racing and being put a lap down I haven’t had a issue so far. With the lobbies being split due to more than 16 drivers we are going to have a mix of slower and faster drivers and caution is a must we all have to adapt just like any endurance race. With that being said we need a refresher from time to time on race etiquette. For the most part this is a very clean league and I hope everyone is enjoying the races. This is the first season and we are still trying to iron out all of the wrinkles thank you everyone for being patient with the process. Also I wanted to say thank you to everyone for helping this league grow I never thought this early we would have so many drivers and its you guys who have got us there it does not go unnoticed by any means. Last tonight I will be on hosting just some random vote races I thought about doing a endurance race but think a bunch of short races might be more fun for everyone
Last Saturday's race will be the last one for a while that I will participate in. I apologize to Neutty. I think it was me who pulled in front of him while he was trying to pass. I got into the grass and found out how slick the tires are after that. I don't mind being last but I don't want to ruin another racers night. Sunday nights are good since I don't have to worry about being lapped. I still want to spectate on Saturday nights if that is OK? If any one has ARL and Snail racing decals I would like to have them. Everyone that participates in the ARL has been very helpful and welcoming. THANKS!

@Rick Bohart you’ll always be welcomed in the ARL no doubt. Getting lapped and learning how to deal with faster drivers that lap us slow guys (me) is part of the challenge in figuring this all out, and becoming a better overall driver.
There are several practices throughout the course of the week and many drivers willing to help. I would encourage you to join up on the practice sessions to continue to hone your driving skill and situational awareness. It will help, trust me, as I have experienced it first hand as well. The entire ARL BOD and driving teams look forward to your continued growth, experience gain and participation, however you choose to do that.

Thanks. Part of what I should've put in my other post was it's not that fun for me to drive with one eye on the review mirror. One of my beliefs is when its not fun stop doing it. As I race in leagues more I'll get better at handling driving in different types of traffic. I'll continue to practice with you all and do what ever I can to promote ARL and Snail racing. It's a great group to race with. At my age getting better is a relative term. Thanks Nick.

I’ll tell you what. When you move on a day or two or in this case 3 days later, it’s a game. When we/I get competitive the “it’s a game” goes out the window for me. I’ve always been this way. Especially since I use to race go karts and have multiple track championships and wins under multiple belt. Not being able to do that anymore makes this “game” more real for me. It allows me to get the “fix” I need that I have missed for many years. Whether it was you or someone else please don’t quit racing with us due to keeping 1 eye in the rear view mirror. If you think for a second that is fast guys don’t drive in the mirror you are mistaking. We might be looking in the mirror more than you currently are. The only way you can get better is by doing. I’m an idiot for going off the way I did, I should not have done that because I too was in your shoes a long time ago and remember what it’s like to feel slow. Heck in D1 in snail I still feel like I am in the way at times. The one thing I can say is when you do go off track, yes tires are limited with grip but also during that moment is the perfect time to glance at the radar and figure out what the best thing to do is.

BEING LAPPED TRAFFIC ISNT SO MUCH WATCHING THE MIRROR. ITS MORE ABOUT HOLDING YOUR LINE.

I say that because I see more and more people pulling off into the grass to allow people to pass where they then make a mistake and end up with damage then taking their fun out of the equation.
I honestly didn’t know you were off track at one point when I came up on you. It is an unfortunate racing situation that could have been avoided by BOTH parties. My problem was I was trying to keep tabs with a fast closing Nascarcory and got ahead of myself when I came up on you and made a bonehead mistake. I should have slowed my tempo down which may have let him by but would have been the safest way around for all 3 of us.

@Neutty bravo man! Very well put. I am personally in a weird place where I am kind of fast sometimes and in a postition where someone is slowing me down and I am kind of slow sometimes and in a position where I am slowing someone else down.

As a highly competitive person in real life, it takes every bit of myself in either situation to back out and facilitate the best possible scenario even if it costs me. In snail D1 every race I am swarmed going into turn 1 by the shifter army and I often have to just back out and lose 5 positions to avoid a big one. It’s a work in progress and I “F” up constantly but it’s part of the process of becoming a better racer that we all go through. And to your point, I watch my mirrors 10x more when I’m up front than when I’m languishing at the rear. When I do get lapped, I either just pull off the racing line and back of the throttle a “smidgen” at the beginning of a straight or I just go very wide into a corner giving up the apex. Either way costs me very little time.

I understand where your coming from. Some friends and I ran a C-gasser drag car in the early 60's. Raced motorcycles and snowmobiles during 70s and 80s. won our share of championships. Racing is an itch that hard to scratch. It is going to take me a while to get a handle on racing without all the AI help. But in the short time I've been a part of Snail and ARL it's made me a better racer. Yes it's game, but when you've competed on a pro level as it seems we both have, the competitive spirit comes out. I applaud that attitude. That's what made you a winner.

I was into Dirt Late Models when I was younger and had the money to blow. I won more fights than races but had a good time. I help my brother with his car now and racing on PS4 is my only outlet for the time being. One day though. One day I’ll get back out on track again. At least I threaten that to my wife lol.

Agreed my dad and his buddy were into the vintage modifieds these are 3 of the 4 that we actually built...the number 77 we actually won multiple championships with...now with my dad in bad state of health and same with my dads buddy also they domt run them near as often...to be fair we only but body's on them and all the other goodies....still are a blast to drive I had the one that wasnt pictured out at port royal and William's grove which are 2 of the well know dirt tracks in my area I only have one win in the dozen or so starts I had and after I got the checkers the motor locked up...

We are all either out to have fun or scratch an itch.
