My advice probably isn't worth much, but for anyone wanting to improve...Focus on consistency, not pace. The speed will come on it's own as you get more consistent. Hit your braking points, hit your apexes and everything else will fall into place. This is what I've been focusing on and it's working so far. Also, check out SNAIL Endurance and jump into as many races as possible with guys you know are quicker than you. It's amazing how much you learn by

I said the same thing to @Mrs Neutty during a practice session back for the merry miatas opener. 10 laps at 1:40.0 are faster than 7 at 1:38.5 and 3 at 1:45.0 cause you ran off.

This is always sound advice to give someone because it's so true but I will share with you how I'm struggling with part of it.

I consider ×14 tire wear to be on the extreme side compared to what I'm use to.
The problem I'm having is that my braking points change every single lap under these settings. It might be the heavy car I'm in, It might be (Me) the driver or it might be a combination of both.
So it becomes very difficult for me to be consistent on something that's not consistent (my braking points) when this changes every lap.
I found myself over shooting and braking to soon last night and in return hurts my lap times considerably.

With a more gradual tire wear setting I find it much easier to adjust to my changing braking points as the tires wear down.
This is definitely something I'm really trying to work on in this series but it has not been an easy adjustment.

@Rinsky, I’m not that consistent either so don’t beat yourself up over it. Look up “tigdney” on YouTube. He has some good videos.

Thanks @CPT_RowdyGiff

You know around the beginning of 2019 he was talking to us in my Gr.4 Series thread. I tried really hard to get him to do a race with us but it never materialized as he is a busy person.
I will check those videos out.

Exactly!

Lol. Thanks. I just couldn’t find the pace last night. @BGCaligula had me beat by a long shot. It’s back to the drawing board here.

Step Dad Racing still hasn’t provided me with a “NEW” Supra yet, still running 2 seasons ago stuff lmao. @BGCaligula showed that a new Supra is where it’s all lmao.

I was impressed with your pace last night as well @7ylerallen i think if you would have ran my pit strategy you could have had a better turn out. Lots of people in this league have gained sooo much speed in the last few seasons, I’m starting to feel like I’m a sitting duck in the seasons to come.
It's a good thing Bad Falcon GT is a factory team. We got all the latest toys. Cheers @Neutty.

I get you. The thing is, you've already figured it out and that's the hard part. As long as you're aware the adjustment has to be made, all you need to do is execute because the knowledge is there. You could be leading the race or bringing up the rear, but everyone on track will have to face the same obstacles. Granted some cars are better than others, but at another track the tables can turn, so even that works itself out. Consistency in racing terms has to include making adjustments, and adjustments are adjustments, how drastic they are should be irrelevant.

Finally finished uploading. Here's my on-board...

I think the high tire wear is good because if u crash and need to put for repairs ur not off sequence but also it would be nice to have fuel last 10 laps rather than 6 and have tires maybe 11x or 12x

Wow once again great Information from another top driver and I never looked at it that way.
Like @CPT_RowdyGiff just said to me. "Don't beat yourself up over it"
I guess I really have been so realizing that I've already figured the hard part out never crossed my mind.

The solution I have found to the changing brake points is just slowly anticipate it backing your corners up. This will compensate for the tire wear granite I'm only the fifth fastest guy so my opinion doesn't matter a whole lot but it does help. Other things like @stelephant brought up the other day I am usually one of the top at saving tires and that's how. I do not run the car to the 50-75 marker usually I'm more of the soft pedal at 125. This allows me to keep up pace by more rolling momentum but I'm also not risking my tires by slamming on the breaks. Also the quicker you get into a rythem the better. I never push for the fast lap I find a good pace and just stay I'll try and remember to get a screenshot maybe wednesday and show you. When im running well I can usually keep my laps within 2-3 tenths. Even as the tires wear

Also, I am in process of recruitment for a small 5 event Friday night filler series for the: Vintage Porsche 911 Cup Challenge
Have a look, and hope either or both of these might be of interest to some of you.

I'm minimally pleased with the result. A great start off the grid and held a strong position for the points but lost it early in the stages, so I did a review on the replay to better understand the situation. I was racing with damon84c down the hairpin and didn't see GTP_Guido coming into me, we had a little clash for the wrong move while I tried overtaking the Ferrari that ran wide. Then down the chicane I turned a little later and got hit into the wall by PApunk924. Huge ouchie, but I guess it was a moment of panic in me that took off and that cost me big time.

Though my shunt at lap 4 made me drop back to the grid with some damage which totally sucks. I just fought my way back on an aggressive strategy on full supersofts and maximum power, but still couldn't properly pay off the gamble as gap has already been opened up.

I'm extremely happy to be able to catch up and have a good fight with @Nick Cannella, I was inching closer and closer to his butt until he accidentally farted . That really gave me a run for my position for a few laps, though I ran wide at the hairpin and concede defeat for that. Loved the track for its smoothness and flow, but still not up to my expectations at the moment since my on-track behavior isn't looking good with some controversial maneuvers.

Here's my cam for the session. It was great fun though...excited for the next weekend.

But still, I'll need to improve on my horrid lines and control of the car. And also not to be a Soviet torpedo towards others.

You were good. I probably shouldn't have tried to slip through when u went unstable.

Chalk it up to mistakes on both our parts. I still had fun.

I had no idea how I got so defensive and aggressive at the same time at certain parts of the race. It just felt as if I've upped my game and went all out during the session. I was even further motivated when qualifying got smoother and faster for me.

As for that accident, it was indeed a chain reaction that tickled me! I was laughing at my mistakes as well.
But I learnt a lot from it by slow-mo replay, on how it happened and what possible evasive actions that could be done, and the consequences. Now you've inflicted fear into my rear view mirror.

For a stupid moment, I was asking to myself "Eh? Why am I racing the Silvers. I should have let go of that." That question came in like 15-20 seconds after I put curb marks on the tire wall!
Crazily, I did perform some insane defending moves on a Silver driver down the home straight. Must've gotten someone real intense on the hot seat.

Do lookout for the mobile chicane I'm driving in the next race! (LOL)

I saw an opportunity to put some distance on guido. In hindsight i should have followed his lead and slowed down and let you gather yourself.

Every opportunity is worth grabbing I guess! But it's okay, I understand on your point as you were also fighting for positions too.
I should have stayed in my line straight and not be running into Guido by mistake while overtaking damon, didn't know he was closing in rapidly with just bare split second to spare. That's what I call racing action, much better than Formula 1.

So check this out @GTP_Guido
If I miss this Saturday and you win the race, get the fastest lap & get pole then me and you will be tied for first.

My drop score of 26 points will be added to my total because I will have 2 missed races and that would allow you to be dead even with me if you can do all the above.

No pressure though...lol

I'm still not sure I'm going to miss because Tokyo tracks are some of my favorite and the Mustang can really stretch its legs down these long straights.
