What a season ending race!

My qualifying wasn't stellar as I was held back by several mistakes trying to wrestle the car for more speed around the intermediate corners. The start was pretty good until the first turn where I had to ease off as there wasn't any room to run except for the grass. Earned myself some rear aero damage into turn 2 while trying to avoid cars and overrunning into the inside, since I started off on mediums I figured it's damage limitation to try to nurse the car to my first pit stop. (You could say that I had a DRS wing engaged throughout the first stint :lol:) - all going well for my intended two-stop pit strategy while on the go until much drama happened.

Right off my first stop on softs, I found the pace and went on every lap to nail as much lost time as possible. Went well until I got a little distracted and hit the wall at the infamous death chicane, since it was rather bad I decided to switch my second pit stop to a longer stint to the flag. Popped on the mediums and off we go, and several laps later I pushed too hard and went into the wall at the death chicane again! :banghead: But it was my pressured mistake for scratching the wall while trying to make way for faster cars approaching.

At this point I had thought my race was done for the weekend, heads down and back into the pits for my third pit stop on softs. The next challenge is to try not to hit the death wall again and push as much as I could. This time a massive gap in front to the next fellow league driver (around 19 seconds), with just 6 laps to go (deducting 1 lap due to overlap). Through every lap my confidence regained and up to the penultimate lap I pulled it off while getting a huge tow from not one, but two cars down the home straight. Backing off a little to get a breather, no time lost - it's sprint to the flag and to bring the car home for one last time.

Long story short, it's really a great race at the seaside. Reminiscent of my previous race last season where I fought out the last laps, till I got my hands totally numb and breathing hard.

Big thank you to @Cornbread243 for being my league competitor all-season and giving my car a serious run for its points. Having to battle mid-race was one of my favorite moments every weekend, it just gets better and fiercer.
Before I sign off, I'd like to share with you this race shot while I had a little extra time to review the race. I didn't have much time to snap race photos, though I do keep the replays in my storage for future.

Lastly, thank you to the organizers and BOD for Season 7. It was a tough start, but a fruitful one to learn and improve my skills.

What a difference a couple of weeks make. Tried an unorthodox strategy that put me in the back for qualifying, made mistake on lap one that gave me heavy damage, then made another mistake that forced me to make two pit stops in the first 3 laps. So yeah, not a good result, but plus side I got to duel with my buddy @aceboy127 for a couple of laps. Look forward to seeing the Season 8 schedule and seeing how many races I can make.

Good racing for the most part last night, decent result. Not my favorite track, kept myself from killing the car although others did that for me lap one so that sucked. Hoping next season will be as exciting as this one has been. Thanks to the BOD for calculating all the scores and doing all the leg work to put the series on. Let’s see if we can get a multi class sat season in the near future.

Best race the Famous 43 has had in a LONG time. Incident on the first lap had me playing catch up all race long. Car ahead threw out the parachute quicker than anticipated, so I mowed a little grass rather than damage both cars.

From then on, the Black Rifle Coffee Audi R8 started feeling in the field. It was a big confidence booster considering how my season has been. My goal all race was simply to keep @TurboTacho in sight. We had a really good battle for a few laps. Actually worked my way as high as 6th before settling the last half of the race in 7th.

Then BAM! Car breaks loose and tags the wall with less than 10 laps to go. Spotted in my ear yelling at me that my near 20 second lead on 8th is gonna take a hit. Crew Chief made the call to stay out, thinking we built up enough of a lead to bring home a 7th place finish.

A few laps go by and the Chief says Turbo now has a good shot at catching us and we've waited too late to pit. Sure enough, just after taking the White Flag, this Turbo guy comes flying by in a two car draft. Bye bye 7th. BRCCRT is still proud of the last race effort of the team. Hopefully we can build on this for next season.

Despite the roller coaster ride of a season this was, season 7 has definitely been my favorite. The finale certainly didn’t disappoint.

I had a feeling everyone would be really quick this race considering how much seat time I’m sure many of us have had at Dragon Trail-Seaside. I knew I needed to keep my cool if I wanted any shot of a good result this race. A P4 quali result was a little tough to stomach, as I didn’t want to be swamped by a bunch of quick drivers...but the race didn’t pan out as bad as I thought.

I went in too deep into T1 on lap 1 and lost a place or two if I remember right. The recovery was a tall order considering, again, everyone’s pretty quick here. Even so, I kept my cool and pressed on. Lap 2 or 3 comes and we (the lead pack at that point) were barreling downhill towards the seaside when I decided to take the long way around @Herimopp89 in order to get the inside for the next corner. That door was shut and I made a bit of contact with the wall. Thankfully I didn’t lose too much ground off the front runners and was able to hold the tow until I made my first pit stop. After a splash of fuel and repairs to the front aero and RF suspension, the charge towards the front began.

I honestly feel like this race was a gamble for a lot of us, which made it all the more exciting. I’m sure there were a lot of tough strategy calls and hard racing to get us the positions we earned, but man this was a fun race. Come to find out from the replay, @Moby45 and I were essentially “mono e mono” at the end. He had fresher tires than me, but less fuel...whereas I was the opposite. It felt like ages catching that Beamer him and that car were so quick. Lol I can’t thank him and the BoD enough for the fun.

I will be working hard to keep this momentum up going into the future..but for now I’m just going to savior this first win at long last if you don’t mind. :lol:

Cheers everyone :cheers:

Yea I felt bad for pushing you wide there so I was trying to concede position and ending getting damage myself inwas my own worse enemy last might and not the chicane

Fun race last night! Had a good opening stint on Softs (though I couldn't do anything against @PApunk924 's pace) , a decent middle stint on Mediums, then suddenly couldn't get any bite in the corners on my last Soft stint. Picked up the right wall in the Chicane of Death on Lap 23 and made myself into an 8 foot long road block that unfortunately ruined the race for @SydViscus. I'm sorry again Syd!! I don't mind when I get it wrong for me, but I hate ruining someone else's race. Limped to the pits and waited for Syd to leave first and cruised home. Congrats to @aedenmaddok who, I think, took the Bronze win after some solid laps to come out in front of us.

It was a fun race man! I had a blast watching you push hard to catch up. I had plenty of fuel to finish but was taking the last part of the race pretty safe. I was trying to get max points as possible for my team and if I pushed too hard to keep you behind I was clocking that wall. Lol

I had a blast. I surprised myself with my pace therem

I was actually sweating trying to catch you lol. I’ll never forget the iconic Maple Pain Train with those beamers.

Congrats to Saturdays division winners:
@7ylerallen
@VGR645
@aedenmaddok

Now onto the important stuff that everyone has been waiting for....The Championships!!

Congratulations to our division champions!!

@Herimopp89
@Stryker13
@TurboTacho

As for the team championship, it was a close race but Bulls and Arrows poor performance Saturday actually worked to their advantage. The low team score on Saturday made it their drop week. So even though Maple Pain Train had a better performance Saturday our team champions are..

Bulls & Arrows Motorsports

Great job by all our champions. As for the rest us...get good.

Get better mpt bruhs lol...who woulda thunk that being bad was a plus! Lmao

Not gonna lie, the mpt boyz had me sweating, with moby crushing it sat, honestly thought that would be enough to take us out.

Id like to thank my teammates ramrod and guido for trailering me around this season and taking it to the boys up north.

even though 2/3 of the team is american...look out for the rest of them :cheers:
