Wow! This is very nice tapetape! You should definitely make another few from some of the screenshots in the gallery! Something with a bit more color though would be great; something that makes it stand out on the shelf.
No, I'm not talking about a complicated hodgepodge of colors... rather an emphasis on one or two eye catching, or even contrasting, "primary" colors (maybe one of the reasons I seem to be preferring covers with red in them, though almost any color scheme will work as long as it has an emphasized "primary" color that stands out from the background).
Uncomplicated simplicity, and an emphasis on one or two primary contrasting colors has always been the overriding theme of PD's covers and what makes them stand out on the shelf.
However, this last one of yours does stand out on its own merits simply because it is so clean and minimalistic... I could see that one standing out on the shelf

Thanks, I wanted more color also but I spent ages finding pictures and this was the most suitable I had at the time, plus it took even longer finding nice size images of the logos. I was thinking of coloring the car but felt too lazy after everything else
hmm I don't think it would be good to drastically change the color of the car as it may end up looking fake.
You have access to a vast database of of great shots from the game itself now though
. I'm interested to see what you and everyone else can do with them since, for the most part in this thread, the GTP gallery seems to have been forgotten about... most likely because it doesn't have an easy way of direct access through site navigation, like it used to. 
Maybe you could use a capture from the current GT5 E3 trailer also. Free Media Player Classic allows you to save individual frames directly from video without having to go through the trouble of the printscreen/paste into paint and save process.

Personally I like the top one better; it just seems to give off the "upscale" attitude that Gran Turismo tries to portray through it's series. Mono-tone seems to give off a more "classic", as it were, mood. (IMO). You don't need to attract attention to the fact that it's Gran Turismo; people will know if they see it on the shelf

I just would like to say great work to everyone who has made a cover so far! I, myself am no good with photoshop or any other tool to make a cover myself. Some of you have great creativity! If any of you would like some ideas, I was thinking of an R33 GT-R at Suzuka or an Integra Type R at Tsukuba.

I'd love to see the Ferrari 599XX on the real cover. Looks professional, and... just awesome.
The Porsche GT3RS is a real drivers car... GT is a real drivers game. Also, looks very professional.

I almost forgot... my little entry.
Before I started on this I was thinking about GT, and what my favourite cars are on GT. Then started thinking about Polyphony and who they are and what they represent. I love the Amuse S2000, such a mad car. It's Japanese, Polyphony are Japanese... little link. Then I thought about what style to do it in. I wanted to do something a little different, something that hasn't been posted yet. Then Anime popped into my head and I thought, why not. Links in with the Japanese theme too.
I didn't want to go overboard with the Japanese/Anime stuff, so I hope it doesn't look over done.
If I had photoshop I could be more creative, but there we go.
But again, great work everyone!

I am not sure which one I like better to make the final. I only worked on these combined for about 30 min maybe. Nothing special but I figured I would throw together something real quick. If I get some feedback I will decide which one to use as the final. Thanks and cool competition! Great entries so far too!!

There are some impressive designs here. The one who will win, will be the one who captures Gran Turismo's brand image effectively. They have a certain look, and I have seen a few entries with that look.

ScizGT - I like the top one better, personally. Good Job on both though.
I was going to be a dork and add another one; but with my ol' Jeep. just the running lights on; it'd be fun, But it won't fit in the page right, it'd look wierd in print. [LINK] to pic.
I kind of like the top one better too. I mean it is the original concept for the Citroen and the contrasting on the black background makes it really stand out but not too much. The bottom silver Citroen is what it ended up looking like as a production car. I kind of like the white concept one better though
