^^ I dont think you drive as the Stig, i think its more like a race against him. Maybe he drives the cars around the track with the same lap times he did on Top Gear Fastest Lap Times and you are expected to try and beat his times.

While I love that dusk, I can't stand 2.12 miles long rally CIRCUIT, what a shame! Some tuscany pavement road circuit through those beautiful Tuscany alleys suitable for Ferrari and such cars would be much better addition than this.

We are accustomed to some 10-25 km long point to point stages with very rough surface here in Europe, of course with navigator reading the specification. This doesn't look like real rally to me, it's just the same questionable "rally" style like GT4 had. And the track looks very very empty considering there are two cars max.

Sorry if it's already said. I saw this yesterday and wanted to return to this site but too much traffic.

You can drive as the STIG

On the Top gear circuit he is easily recognizable with his agressive helmet
So we have:
STIG
Loeb
Pablo Montoya?
Seb. Vettel??

....

NICE

Kaz, thank you!!!

Technically, it'd be more like (going off last year's trailer and the gameplay videos):

Nicolas Bernardi
Sebastian Loeb
Petter Solberg
Mikko Hirvonen
Jeff Gordon
Dale Earnhardt Jr
Tony Stewart
Jimmie Johnson
Carl Edwards
Kyle Busch
Joey Logano
Brian Vickers
Juan Pablo Montoya
The Stig

I along with some others believe Vettel is only playing the same role in GT5 that Jay Leno did in GT PSP.

In the first part of the trailer (at 0:20s) cloud shadows are moving across the ground. That looks a lot like dynamic weather and who knows, perhaps a storm is on its way. :)

If someone can make a gif from this part of the trailer, please do so. 👍

Yeah, like we all wouldn't wait ten years for a Gran Turismo game. We all KNOW, the longer a GT game takes, the better it'll be...and that's how ALL games should be.

Doesn't this mean no game should ever be released?

I hope they don't pile on the Top Gear gimmicks and have "race the Stig" stuff. If I want to deal with that show, I'll watch it.

Oh, SrRd Racing, small correction for your first post; the Tesla looks to be a regular Roadster model, not the Sport. If it is infact the sport, the year wouldn't be an '08. :)

Now its a bit quieter I shall just say that the E3 trailer has blown me away. Also it isn't just me who is amazed because the whole gaming world is buzzing after that E3 trailer. I've lost count how many times i've read on the Xbox forums "im going to buy a PS3 for GT5".

The daddy of racing games is definitively going to raise the bar yet again for console racing games.

just FYI and FFS, it's "Toscana", not "Tuscany" (Polyphony actually got it right).

"Tuscany" (just like "Venice", "Milan", "Turin" and the likes) is a made up, english word no one in Italy has ever heard of, thus, stop using it.

I really don't see the point either, is "Toscana" seriously that hard to pronounce?

...or do you actually believe the regions's called "Tuscany"?

Well, thank goodness I never used those terms. Unfortunaly, I've heard "Tuscany" more then I have "Toscana" (to the point that even Pizza Hut has exploited this grammitically incorrect pronounciation).

"As Kazunori began speaking, aided by a translator, we learnt that Gran Turismo 5 would have over 1000 cars in its tally. Over 800 of which fall into the standard cars list, offering casual through to sports car models, many of which make a welcome return from previous GT games. The other 200+ are premium model cars, each one beautifully recreated from the engine outwards to satisfy any petrol-head.

Although all of the cars are perfectly modelled, the premium cars offer little extra touches of detail that the standard cars don't. For example, only the premium cars have fully recreated interiors and the standard cars aren't designed to take structural damage in crashes. Asking why this was the case, Kazunori honestly replied that it was simply down to the painstaking amounts of time it takes to re-create them all. When you see the level of detail, it's amazing they were able to do even 200 of them."

Dam, all of the cars won't have interiors :guilty:

That sucks.

Yep, to us it is. I'm surprised you don't have a problem referring to your own country as 'Italy'.

Nothing to do with grammar.

November seems to far away..

I thought the game was 90% finished like 6 months ago?..

There are companies who make great games in 2 years time, why would it take another year to finish the remaining 10%.

I`m afraid that because its so far away its just another date to look forward to only to have it 2 months before the release be pushed to early 2011, because Kaz finally decided that GT5 needs Playstation Move..

ugh.. another 5 months to wait.. (time to start a new Thread? :P)

Interiors no, cockpits yes.

Look at the WRC and NAscar shots, you can see the whole interior including into the back of the cars. Roll cage and everything thats only going to be premium I imagine.

If anyone think that Kaz would let a half finished product out the door with no dashboard view your crazy.

Look at GT5P they all had interior view. How many cars were there? 60 / 70?

So your telling me with all the extra race cars etc... were only going to get an extra 130 with cockpits from Prologue. No chance. They wouldn't have released prolouge with allmost every car having a dashboard view and then release the full GT5 with most of them missing.

The premiums are going to have the full engine bay, suspension arms etc also.

But like I said in another thread, Sage is there from GTP with a press pass so hopefully he will ask the questions to clear all this up for us. The track / variation this aswell.

I've got to get my arse in gear, and stuff on eBay. This is a big shock to me. I've got five months to scrape together cash for a PS3.

Even so... that trailer almost made me cry. I don't care what you think of that, it sent shivers down my spine and I was just shaking.

Over a video game? What is wrong with me?

To be honest it does seem like forever. But take a step back and look at GT. It has grown into something so huge and unlike any other game available.

Games aren't very 'bang for your buck' anymore. They lack SERIOUS content. Battlefield Bad Company comes to mind as well as FM3. Sure they're great games, but you know there could have been way more. But instead of taking a bit of extra time to make the game incredible, they kinda just do what works and passes the 'just enough' bar. Leaving room for another installment (another $60 game) and more DLC that you must pay for. This day in age a game like GT5 is financially a burden on Sony (in the sense they could cut the game in half and sell two games) although they'll sell a massive number of just those solid games. Never again will a game be so fulfilling that the content is literally keeping people occupied for years offline alone. The day FM3 has GTs content and doesn't charge for DLC for content that should've been in the game due to a short development time, hell would freeze

You are in way over your head with this post. There can be no logical way in hell this will happen. You are worrying way too much about a release date thats right near the holiday season, a very big opportunity for market share.

Where in the world is this guy that it is already 6:30 PM on June 16 where he lives? The closed door press conference hasn't happened yet. There is something very fishy about that article.

Nice to FINALLY see some info and a release date... I know one thing for sure... I'm sold... 👍 Good job PD, I have nothing to complain :)
