Japanese news article (GT.com)

You will probably have to go through Google translator if you are not using Chrome as your browser. Midway down the page, they mention premium and standard cars. Under the standard cars, you will see "スタンダードカー”はインテリア視点に対応していません。" Translated using Google, it turns into " "Standard Car" does not correspond to the interior view."

However, if you look at the US English version, you will notice that phrase does not exist in the same spot.

Just makes me wonder.

To be fair, Google Translator is not really trust worthy most of the time. But I think I'd trust the JP page (this is the language Kaz and PD speaking after all, so there's no lost in translation) more than the US and EU pages.

P.s. Who's here on the forum can speak Japanese or from Japan? Can you make it clear for the rest of us?

Sorry if this video is already been posted. Anyway the video is showing the producer of GT with his trusty translator guy. Enjoy!!

Thanks, but yeah it's been posted. I watched it live myself, wasted 20 min of my life. G4 is a cool channel but I just can't stand the hosts anymore.

Here is the thing. "Standard Car does not correspond to the interior view" could be taken two different ways. Unfortunately, Google translates into Engrish, not English.

It takes each word and just translates that literally or will sometimes recognize common phrases and translate those.

We really need a native Japanese speaker to look at it and let us know what they think.

I'd love to hope for the best, but, tinted windows, nuff said, the Z28 69(premium) has normal clear windows, the SS from the Standard cars trailer has tinted...Which is crazy, i mean, how different can those 2 be inside.

this is why there are other translators:

This would seem that there isn't a cockpit in the standard cars...although, it just says car, singular)

If that translation is accurate. Then the debate is over. By the way, what program did you use?

But it says "Standard Car" does not correspond to the interior view. this could be the blacked out windows

if you read the premium part it says
"Premium car" would represent an attractive thing for you to reproduce at depth. Exterior (exterior) as well, especially in a high degree of repeatability in the interior if [Gran Turismo 5.

From race cars to commercial vehicles, instrument panel look different for each car, as well as seats and interior trim materials, colors ranging, thorough and reproduce.

the premium part explains that everything will be visible in the interior this has nothing to do with cockpit view imo

i use google and my says would you like to convert Japanese to English

Standard Car" does not correspond to the interior view.

From my somewhat basic understanding of Japanese, スタンダードカー translates in 'Sutandakaa', which rather obviously means standard car. は defines that the object of the sentence is the standard car. インテリア translates into 'interia', which is interior. Unfortunately, I do not understand any of the kanji in the sentence. I'm pretty sure に represents 'of'. Well, at least I think it does. していません translates into 'doesn't do this now'.

Make of it what you will.

Isn't the Camaro a standard car?

Thats the latest version of it. So yes its a 'Premium Model' indeed.

Here's the real life verison of it showing the cockpit:

Yea, I use Google Chrome as a browser and have it set to auto translate Japanese to English. So, me and you have the same wording in our translation.

But if you read what I was responding to... It is different wording, and if it is accurate, the debate is over.

I think it's very clear that there won't be cockpits in those standard cars,
maximum a dash like in gt PSP ..
I think it's time to move on.
There are tons of nice things about Gran Turismo where we can talk about,
in stead of nitpicking about the same thing time and time again.

Yea, I think the shock everyone experienced is starting to fade. Next step Acceptance...

Some will leave out of pride and disappointment and I hope they come back. If they do, it'll be because of the richness in other parts of the game.

The funniest thing, there were 7 pages of information released on the official site. And no one made it past page 1. There isn't even a thread about it... hint, hint...;)

Personally, I'm going to bed. Everyone have a "premium" day. :dopey:

Am I the only one who is NOT greatly disappointed in the standard models? I just watched the video on the jp gran turismo site and those cars look great. Tbh that was where my expectations were for graphical quality for the ENTIRE GAME going into e3. Yea the whole "no cockpit view" thing is annoying, but other then that I don't see the issue. They look NOTHING like their gt4 counterparts, despite all the babble I've been reading about them just being upscaled.

+1

We just keep quiet about not being as dissapointed as some others, I am fine with this as I have and always will use bumper cam.

no doubt some post pictures of the standard cars, Shift cars, forza3 and the standard cars looked very next to both game, which i play here and there. But i can see people being upset comparing them to the premium cars. those cars look amazing. To me this was a the best PD can do for the fact he said it would have took for ever. He finished with that he felt it was a huge accomplishment just to get 200 cars being premium he said it could pass for PS4 detail

PD should give us more cars on track in the "standard races". That would be enough for me to be happy again with GT5 (Nurb or Lemans with 40 cars, yeah)

Guys I don't know if this has been posted before, if it has I'm sorry. It shows a little more of the Top Gear Track

Are there any other videos? I've seen all the ones on the first page of this thread, plus the multiplayer.it with the 458 and GT-R on Toscana, the camaro one posted a couple pages back, plus all the IGN, G4, Gamespot coverage. Anything I'm missing? Any videos with NASCAR but with sound, I still haven't heard what they sound like...
