I don't know why everything should be kept the same. I'm so sick of the "Two games per console" argument that it makes me wanna puke. Yes, PS3 happens to follow this trend but it's as if people feels that it has to be this way.

Personally I don't see why they didn't just give us a Spec 3.0 update instead of an entire new game, being as similar to GT5 as it is anyway. Call me stupid but that's what I'd do if I were in charge. Release a Spec 3.0 update with all the GT6 content and upgrades for $29.99 - $34.99 and for those who doesn't have the game already I'd re-release the game with Spec 3.0 for $49.99 - $54.99.

It was not an inextricably conformist comment though. Stating that there is no need for it to be different, does not pre-define a want for it to be the same.

.... and if you were in charge and the sales predictions of a spec 3.0 vs GT6 were 30% lower, what would you do? The fate of the company hinges on your decision boss!!

Yeah no thanks. I'm sure the game may load even more slower if that were to happen probably. I also doubt Spec 3.0 will do much to save GT5 so it's just a dream now.

If I had a choice to pick GT6 or GT5 3.0, I'll pick GT6. You can't stick with one game forever, you'll get bored than move on.

As much as I've been critical of GT5 in the past, I'm honestly starting to get tired of comments refering to GT6 as GT5.5 or that it won't be much different from GT5. You have not played the full game yet, nor do you know everything about it. Such a pessimist attitude.

And Strittan, you want them to add a new physics engine and all of these other features we've been hearing about through an update? Updates can only add-on to a game. You can't cram entirely new mechanics into an existing game.

I agree. Honestly it's really ridiculous.

Let's also make an official positive comment topic and keep all discussion within these two threads.

herp derp .

Indeed. If you want to include a negative and a positive in one post you'll have to split it across the threads.

I really like the physics but I'm really sick of the [continued in negative thread]

The standard cars are pretty poor but I do like [continued in negative thread]

I so understand you, I always have this weird feeling of sadness mixed with anger when I read that something should be because it was always like that in history.

If you think that GT6 will be an "epilogue" to GT5, go and not contemplate playing GT6, seeing any footage of it, or even thinking about how useFUL this thread is to ME.

Quick OP, better apologise to his highness. He did not enjoy your thread.

Seems far more interesting that it was in my head. Do want.

As noted... saying it has always been this way is not an endorsement of the status quo.

But what alternative are you giving us? Labelling a game with a strangely made up number and straying from naming conventions for no logical reason?

Completely overhauling a game engine and graphics engine, coming up with unique cars, events and tracks for the new engine, and then making it available for download as an "update"?

Running GT5 with a "GT6 Update" loaded onto your hard drive would be like booting up Windows XP, then loading Windows 7 on top of it from a USB-drive. It'd be resource-intensive, buggy and pointless.

And why should PD have to give you the game for the price of DLC? Again, like saying owning Windows XP gives you the right to a 50% discount on Windows 7.

Again, GT6 is not an add-on to the old game. It isn't GTA:Liberty City Stories. It (supposedly) represents a full revamp of the game engine and graphics engine. For that much work, the game company has every right to package it and price it as a separate game.

I got it guys... youre bored, you have no new informations about GT6... but this? GT5 Epilogue? :banghead:
Agreed.
That's what i've been saying, let's call GT6 GT: Cookie Racing and people will actually support a thread like that? just how hard did you hit yourselves on the head, if you want to hate on GT there are a lot threads on that subject, if you want some positive threads there is also a large number of those, but GT5: Epilogue is basically saying GT5.5 which we have heard from a lot people already.

It's not exactly that out there when we've already had prologue games. I mean don't get me wrong I don't think they'd ever do it either but it's not the stupidest suggestion I've ever seen.

Now PD decides to name it like this: "Gran Turismo 6: End of the Saga Edition"

...and that is how GTPlanet exploded creating a new Big Bang. LMAO

Gran Turismo series ending for ever. Imagine that...

Of course later on Kaz will create a new franchise called "Need for Turismo: Tha´ simulator"...(of course with the pre-order you unlock the "Pimp my ride" day one DLC and "Gold paint chips".

(Yes this thread is as silly as this comment but not as hilarious)

I honestly think that GT dying as a whole is the best thing that could happen to Kaz and the racing genre in general, therefore to us..

That is one of the best comments I've seen on GTPlanet that and the one posted here about some unicorn game.

Seriously though, it would be kinda pointless to just call GT6 "GT5: Epilogue" as it's not the same game as GT5 exactly with it's new features mentioned so far and I bet some things such as career mode will be made different as well.

I think this thread is just proof that we've already gone too long without more news from PD :P.

Gotten to the point where everyone is just bickering with eachother, myself included.

Every couple of days i drop by this forum to check if there's any news, all i see are whining complaints. It's so annoying ..... arrrggggg!!

There are a minority of those on here who make it their only goal to condemn GT6 to the fires of Hades. Others who have more patience like myself simply want to just play the game when it's released and appreciate the new features that PD is said to be including.

I make no apologies for being a harsh critic of GT5.
PD supplied plenty of justifiable ammo.

However, even in light of some pessimistic comments I've made on some negatives concerning GT6,
I believe it is over-reacting to completely trash the game with so little to go on, 4 to 5 months before release.

Maybe I'm hoping for too much, but possibly GT6 will be in the same vein of what GT2 was to GT1, and more-so what GT4 was to GT3, a lot bigger and better game.

Nevertheless, I'll keep my condemn shotgun loaded and at the ready.
I don't like getting caught with my pants down, as was the case with GT5.

I'm sorry, but this is the single most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. Please allow me to be the first of (hopefully) very many people to poke some holes in your theory.

#1: Gran Turismo as a franchise has sold approximately 70,000,000 units. GT5 alone accounts for about 10,000,000 of those sales. The GT Academy demo just passed 1,000,000 downloads. GT isn't going anywhere.

#2: Kaz has a net worth of $60,000,000. I can assure you that nearly every dime of that has come from Gran Turismo in some shape or form. GT dying off would probably be the one of the worst things that could happen to him.

#3: GT practically invented console sim racing. It is the second highest selling racing franchise, after Need for Speed. Losing GT would be an absolute catastrophe to the racing genre.

#4: Here is a map of the Internet:

Welcome to :gtplanet:! This is our flag: :gtpflag:
I can venture to say that we are a fairly decent representation of the racing game demographic. I can also venture to say that the death of GT would also mean the death of gtplanet. Which is bad for us.

#5: PD has given a quality racing simulation game. In the words of Damon Wayans, if that's not good enough for you, hey, so long sucker, see ya, bon voyage, arrivederci, later loser, goodbye, good riddance, peace out, don't let the doorknob hit ya where the good Lord split ya, don't come back around here no more, hasta la vista, kick rocks, and get the hell out.

Now you all have a nice day!:dopey:
