I think he means that at the back of the mirror (the part seen in the picture) you can't see light being relected the same way as the rest of the car, you see a texture without reflection. That's what I think he means. It does look a bit wierd but it does not bother me at all

noire black n' white is classic... imagine a C6R photographed 100 years ago...

the light source is behind the car, the bottom part of the mirror is reflecting the ground/darker shadow area and the top of the mirror has reflection. i dont get the problem

Oh my God. That picture of the C63 AMG has to be the most realistic looking GT5 pic I've ever seen.

I think what people are saying is there is no reflection of the mirror in the body... see the real pic? See how the mirror is reflected on the body? It's not there on the GT5 shots. The mirror looks fake and photoshopped on after the fact or something.
It's fairly eviden on the Citroen shot also, however on the Merc it's not as obvious due to where the mirror mounts onto the door.
This is the problem with high resolution and high detail.... it makes little things really stick out. As cicohipe said, kind of hard to unsee once you see it.
It's also true that the mirror housing itself does not seem to do real reflections like the body, but that I find far less noticeable.
It will be interesting to see how shots of cars close together turn out since I don't think cars are reflected in other cars.
