I still dont like the piano first part of the intro but its still better than the original. 👍

I love this new intro, way better than first, the editing is awesome. No more MCR crap, 5oul on Display is great and should've been used in first intro as well. Just watched the Forza intro, and it looks lame compared to GT. However if there's ever going to be spec 3, the soundtrack to the into has to be My Favourite Game, that would be epic.

...I've ALWAYS thought that 5OUL ON D!SPLAY was meant to be the true opening theme for GT5. I mean, look at the pre-release exposure it's gotten since E3 2010:
-The song naming contest.
-The E3 2010 trailer being reused for TGS.
-The GT Academy promo.
-The Gamestop NASCAR promo.
Yet after all that, it got reduced to mere race BGM at release. =/
I'm really glad that they re-did the opening movie with it, and it really compliments Kasho's "Day to Live" being the short ending theme as well. =D

Did anyone else spot the STANDARD Audi R8 LMS at around 3:34?

Why? Are all cars in the intros premium? Now that I think about it, I don't recall seeing a standard car in either one of the intros before...

I think the first half of the old intro flat out beats the second one. They're both staggering piano performances, but Lang Lang's is smoother. As for the second halves I really can't choose one over the other.

The only other official GT video that had Standard Cars in it was the Standard Car trailer thing.
When I first saw the intro video to GT4, I was amazed 👍👍(US version with Van Halen's Panama. We're talking goose bumps up and down the arm, not even bothering to blink until it was over. Then audibly saying "this is the greatest game...ever." This happened EVERY single time I watched the opening sequence...which was every time I turned the game on.
GT5...not so much. I have only watched the opening twice. My wife even said it was lack-luster compared to GT4. The quality of the video is amazing (based on the fact that I just picked up an HDMI cable to run the video feed to the tv rather than the RCA cord. It's like a whole new gaming system now). The music they chose just doesn't do it for me...in either video, the original or spec 2.

You know why the gt5 intros suck? Because they spent the majority of the time showing off their high res graphics by panning stupidly close and constantly around the cars insteaf of making badass intros,like gt4 with proper cool camera angles and depths.
By the way it probably won't change your mind as most of your fondness for gt 4 intro music would be nostalgia but have a watch of the japanese moon over castle intro to gt4. Sooo much more epicness than panama. Its bassically badass guitars and backing drums
I already did about 20 minutes before I made that post. The Castle song going all the way through the video did nothing for me. For me, it felt anti-climactic and didn't fit the action. There is just something about the US version that is hands down, better. The slow "calm before the storm" part of the Castle song with the slow shots of the Ford GT, and the lead up to the driver in the pit flipping the visor down...slight pause to the driver POV of the pit guy flipping the sign from brake to 1st gear....then BAM! PANAMA! Doesn't get ANY better.
I was so impressed by the entire video and song selection, I went and downloaded the Castle song and spliced it with Panama just so I could listen to it in my truck. It leads off my "80s Hair Metal" cd.

I actually prefer the Reason is Treason Intro over Panama. Gt5's spec 1 japanese intro is really underated (Epic)

My apologies for bringing up this topic, but I'm trying to figure out how I can get the spec 2.0 intro? I updated GT5 to 2.0 but my intro is still from Spec 1. Does it change over after a certain number of hours into the game? I just recently started playing.
