A first for me. That was awesome...

track at sunset?

I honestly believe that if we don't get tracks which have a cycling of day to night, we'll at least get various tracks with varying times of days. Instead of just a few night tracks and many sunny tracks (a la GT4), we'll have many tracks with many different times: 5 at midnight, 10 at midday, 7 at evening, 8 at sunrise, 6 at sunset, etc etc.

That's from a really old video and that portion of the video was pre-rendered and not in game footage. But it would make sense that it represents something in game, I don't think anyone worked out what the track in that part of the clip was.

It's not Singapore GP?

this has been done already in the past..for example in gt3...Grand Valley Speedway is on a typical day whereas Grand Valley Speedway(reverse) time of day was different..

Even if all we got was the option to select our race times [at mid-day, evening and night] for each course - that would be just fine with me.

Although I would rather have a day/night cycle [especially for the 24 hour races] as long as rain makes the program, I will be happy. :sly:

like the transition of the late evening slipping into the night...and stuff would be appropriate for longer races like >3 laps etc

The vid looked more like a hack job to show off the pretty reflections with the rail only there to hide that there was nothing behind it. Whether that backdrops is a precursor to an actual track like that... who knows.. looked awesome though.

Oh for sure, one thing i love about GTR is the ability to time trial or race right into the sunset, or overnight(with time acceleration).

I apologize, but this thread is some 4000 posts long and I haven't been keeping up with it throughout its ups and downs, therefore; I have to ask:

Has there been mention of interior views these past few days, as in how many cars will have their interior modeled?

Again, my apologies. I tried searching briefly and came up with a couple results, but nothing concrete. I don't know if my search terms were bad, just please go easy on me ;)

You pose a great question! This particular question came up not too long ago, around post 3,900.

It seems only logical that all cars will have detailed interiors like the ones we saw in Gran Turismo 5: Prologue.

Kazunori stated in the IGN video interview that he wants exterior damage to be visible from the interior of race cars. This goes along with GamesCom "premium" model speculation. Again, exterior damage will be reflected, or visible, through the interior in race cars.

The "standard" models can be explained too. It seems that because normal cars will only sport minor damage (scuff, scratches, minor deformations), that damage won't be visible from inside. Why? The scratches on the hood in the TGS videos don't seem high enough to be seen from the cock-pit. Nor will the minor deformations be visible from inside the car because you cannot see the side or back of your car in the mirrors. You can only see a small portion of the hood in the Gran Turismo 5: Prologue cock-pit views anyway. Again, this follows the "standard" models. They aren't generic cock-pits like GT PSP, as they should be fully detailed, but they surely won't show exterior damage from the inside.

Why thank you :D

This would work for me :)

FWIW, this question came to me as a result of a single car which [since we've been told that all cars from GT4 will be in GT5] I expect to be in this game; the Shuichi Shigeno AE86 Tofu Special.

If it's going to have its interior modeled, I REALLY hope PD puts that 11,000rpm Smith's Tach on the steering column instead of taking the easy way out and using a regular AE86 interior.

Yes well I was amazed that the post about the "implied facepalm" with the language was posted. I hope thats sufficuent.

Just posted that for the lolz after looking at your post so its cool:tup:

Even though I am not an advocate of the interior view, I cannot wait to take some peeks at the interiors of the GT4 cars that will make it to GT5. The Mazda 787 B, Toyota Minolta, RUF RGT, Pagani Zonda, etc, etc, come to mind. Better yet, any car that I forgot comes to mind [/paradox] ;)

Exactly. 👍

Aside from rain making it's debut in GT5 - I also hope that the Koenigsegg CCX and CCX-R make an appearance!

With rain, night racing and the Koenigsegg brand of cars - GT5 will be the best Gran Turismo ever! 👍 :sly: :D

gt psp limited edition cards:

the track is tokyo, but is the car real or GT5, hard to say:drool:

It's all from GT5.

I can say this now, after scrutinizing each one for a while. After seeing the Polyphony Digital logo and the turn indicators in the background; it was only then that I realized this was in-game footage. :D

It really fooled me for a bit - I thought I was looking at actual photographs of the Bugatti Veyron!

GT5 is going to be EPIC! [I still want rain in GT5 Kazunori Yamauchi!]

Where is the video footage from Indy?

This Indy Speedway confirmation came from a interview of Kazunori Yamauchi at TGS.

After the presentation, Yamuachi showed off a new trailer for the game which featured, among other things, peeks at some of the new courses that will be part of the game--including a quick look at the familiar tower from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which appears to be set for GT 5.

I hope the trailer is released!

The only way I see Porsche making it in GT5 is if NFS: Shift's recent release opens up a door for PD to enter and negotiate. Maybe that's why the kept the release date locked away for so long. Perhaps this is more a chess game than we thought.

I whish it were true... but after saying no in interviews and other indicators saying it wont, it just seems iffy that the website would be the one to get the scoop
it just doesnt add up

It is Singapore. Those dome-shaped buildings on the left were clearly visible during last week's GP.

Really hope that the Singapore track is included but I also don't remember seeing the guardrails along the track. :indiff:

0.36 onwards..
