I think pictures 2,6,8,10 could fool you into thinking they are real images, the only give-away lies not in the car detail but the textures, and you only really notice the texture difference of thing when it is compared with a real image.

Hey, hate to sound like an ass-hole but I called it :D (edit: I'm not sure if there's a swear filter, but I was almost sure that was going to be censored. Please don't ban me if I somehow avoided the censor :( )

I really think that there is a bunch of added anti-aliasing here though, to very high levels. I have yet to see one bad edge (except in those car-selection shots).

Hopefully that's what the technical guys are "aiming" for, but in all reality, I doubt we'll get it.

Expect something like 2xAA for this game, plus a couple effects to make it less noticeable.

In my opinion the PS3 can do allot more than just 2xAA.
But we'll have to wait to find out who is right.

LOL!, some on my rl friends have fallen down because i told them some of these pic were taken in a race of ESPN LOL!

can you see how REAL is GTHD, i love this game, sadly, i haven't played it yer :(

Errr what? you think they are going to make the graphics worse for the final game, somehow I doubt it. For Kaz, graphics and reality have been paramount, which has annoyed some fans because he insists on the best graphics even if it is at the expense of other areas. The only CGI bit is in the first part of the trailer when we see the Nissan GTR, the rest is in game footage with (thats right) in game graphics, I cant see them going back on their graphics unless Kaz has had a change of heart about his game.

Oh btw, you won't get kicked of the sight for typing something like that, unless of course a moderator (or admin) has told you not too but you carry on anyway.👍

Those comparison pictures look amazing! Has anyone watched the 2nd GT5: Prologue video? Is it just me or did PD implemented tire deformation into the game as well?!? Watch the part where the viper goes through the chicane and concentrate on the tires. You'll notice that it deforms realistically to the car's weight being put on it through a corner. Either that or I'm just seeing things.

I totally agree. IMO, the one part where I found the graphics to be more important than gameplay is in the Photomode area. :)

Great comparison and beautiful pictures. I'm really impressed by what PD has done so far. Thumbs up 👍 Just amazing.
I hope that the gameplay is as good as the graphics :D

I took a closer look, and despite thinking that I saw what you saw in the beginning, I think they didn't put this in. Watch the part where you see the TVRs front as it drives through some bends (1:02 - 1:06). You can see that the tires do not deform. Would have been a nice touch though ...

Well, i can honestly say that in all the motor racing i have watched both in real life and on tv, i can say that i have NEVER noticed a racing car tyre deform, the deformation were talking about here is so small that you wouldn't notice it even if it is included in the game, especially with low profile tyres.

You've never watched a slowmo of an F1 car going over rumble strips?

I know the tyres are deforming on every high-performance car I've ever tested - because I can feel them doing so!

When you also watch the real HD trailer on PS3 it looks truly amazing! These comparison pics show the great amount of detail. 👍
Forza 2 isn't even close to this! Forza only got to the point of where GT4 was :scared: ... and now it's a long way away from GT5.

^^^I'm not a Forza 2 fanboy to the very least but I'd have to disagree with you. The physics engine used in Forza 2 is leaps and bounds ahead of GT4 and even GT:HD. The car handles very realistically and sounds very closed to their real life counterpart. The AI cars aren't glued to the track so you can actually spin them out as easily as they spin you out. They also react to what you do and have good collision detection, though not great (I've tested it out on many occasions). There are other things but I don't think I have to go into them, I'm sure you know what I mean.

If you're talking in terms of graphics, then yes, GT5 is leaps and bounds ahead of Forza 2. When I first popped the game into my 360, I thought something was wrong with my copy because the graphics were so bad for a current generation system.

I beg to differ there. They act like they are not affected by any taps or bumps from the user 98% of the time.

Some of them are very subtle and happens so fast that sometimes the human eye may not be able to catch but when played in slow motion, they do deform. Even low profile tires with extremely stiff sidewalls deform to a certain extent. I used to run 45 series Potenza SO3s on my car and now 45 series Eagle F1s and they both deform even with their stiff sidewalls and low profiles.

I've played this game religiously ever since it came out and every time I pit an AI car, they spun. If you're just tapping them then it's very unlikely that they will spin just like if they were to tap you lightly. It's the same as if an AI car taps you, you won't spin unless it's a hard hit. Maybe they're running race tires that sticks really well so you'll have to really give them a strong love tap?

Compared to GT4, you have to admit that they are better overall. We'll see how GT5 is when it comes to overall physics then we can make an educated (un-biased) comparison between GT5 and Forza 2. We won't know until the game is released, though.

They are better overall, but they still act invicible as they can't be forced from their line much like GT4's a lot.

Just thought I post some new pictures as I dont think anyone else has. Enjoy! :)

Look at that duct tape! :dopey: :dunce:
Straight from PD's site. Also I renamed the topic. :)

Great Comparison pimp racer...
I'm proud to say I gave + rep. :sly: 👍
As for the content... What can be said when you're speechless. 👍
My brother took a look at the pictures when I said "this is the next GT" and he said "which ones are the game" (he's not a gamer like us).

Thanks but i really didnt do anything except copy the image and host it. Also agreed with what you said.

But we'll have to wait to find out who is right.

Thats true. Its a good thing we got dedicated dev teams such as PD that will utilize the potential of the PS3.

*EDIT*

I think I am going to just post all the pics on PD's site in this thread. Make it a kinda pictures central for GT5P. I will post random pics in this thread of GT5P as I find. I shall start with doing so from PD's site. I hope this is ok? If it is I will start tommorow hopefully. Also feel free to post pictures related to the topic if you find them! :)

The videos are even more... thrilling. ;)

After playing Forza 2 about as religiously as Quiet Storm, I have to say that I'm impressed with the physics, but not quite as much. And the audio, especically the tires, and that so-called music... gah. I'm more than a little ready for the sequel to the Real Driving Simulator. As in I can hardly wait.
