Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

Yeah right, that's asking WAY too much from these people. They can't even set up Seasonal Events to coincide with real world races. Would've been great to have a 20 lap race to celebrate the 24 hours of Daytona or a 50 lap race last week for the Daytona 500. This crap goes back to GT5p and their failure to recognize they could create such events. I'm baffled by some of the stupidity that comes from Polyphony Digital at times.
And WHY can we still not buy more than one car at a time from the UCD and OCD. Geniuses hard at work.

Exactly. If they release GT6 for the PS3 end of this year or next year, we will have a next gen console without a GT in the first 2-3 years in the console life again. Nobody things about that? I think many racers will move to pc or xbox if that happens.
I am sorry, but not everybody lives in a country were a PS4 will cost a 1000 bucks or so. I want a new console with new games and not see an outdated console get first party games.

So, if they have done 95% of the work for a ps3 gt6, they should just bin that and somehow that would make gt6 on ps4 come 12 months earlier?
You're talking as though they haven't started work on gt6 at all yet.
This isn't a discussion of what platform the next gt should be for. One way or another that decision was probably made 2 years ago or more!
Would they be happy to release gt6 at the end of the life of the console? It's not ideal, so no. But maybe they don't have a choice now.
So you have to accept that they can't change it now. They'll release it and take the money if it's a ps3 title and then commit to a ps4 game, which will be a prologue first, no doubt.

A ps3 release would just fit in the long line of mistakes Sony and PD had made over the years. A ps3 release would be a reason for me to end the relation between me and Sony/PD.
A GT5.5 on the PS3 will not exceed the expectations. What I think doesnt matter, but when GT6 will clearly lose in a graphics competition with Forza and PC games, the press and casual players will turn their backs on the franchise.

Yeah okay. So lets have PD scrap their whole project (which would have been an BAD idea), and have them rework everything to have us waiting till 2055 when PS10 is around, just because the BABYS WERE CRYING. THAN, when GT6 shows up, people are gonna CRY more and say "Ooooh this game sucks and so does PD, I'm leaving cause they'll never improve."
Now on the news section someone is calling GT a cash cow now, just becuse its releasing on the PS3 and not PS4?...
JUST, WAIT for more information. Sitting in here crying all day isn't going to help.
I didn't want to write all that, but honestly you guys are really making this a real big deal now...

I agree. It's quite funny seeing the bitterness of some users. As if a GT6 on PS3 were the apocalypse. Or as if a PS4 GT6 were the devil himself!
I think it'll be on the PS3, though. And I will not buy it blindly as other users have mentioned.

Not just casual, but "hardcore" as well. If they release GT6 on PS3 they will have turned their back to the most loyal fans they have. Im talking about the people who will be handing over 399 or 499 US dollars to get the PS4 at or near launch. GT6 on PS3 basically tells that crowd they dont matter, that they're more focused on providing gamers with 7 year old PS3 hardware the best games available.
Can you imagine Forza 5 releasing on the Xbox 360 this Holiday beside the next gen xbox Durango? The thought alone is so ludicrous, its barely worth considering.
GT6 on PS3 wont just get curb stomped in the graphics column when compared to Forza 5 on the Xbox Durango or PC sims on high end machines. It will also be lightyears behind the social, personalized, and immediate capabilities of the PS4 and next gen consoles. There will be no "share" button for GT6 on PS3. No downloading and installing updates in the background. No live streaming of gameplay. No improved DS4 support. No youtube upload. No facetracking. I could go on and on
With PS4 remote play, theres no need for a stand alone GT Vita game

In my opinion, if GT6 is released on the PS3 there will be the bonus of new content and a much improved ( hopefully ) experience as a racing RPG, as previous GTs (2 and 4) have been. So there's a win factor in this possibility.
However, if it's not released on the PS4 there will be no major leap forward in the technical aspects of the game, since a better system would allow for improved physics, graphics and addition of even more sophisticated particle, dust and rain effects. It would be a lost opportunity as well.
I'm happy with whatever scenario, as long as the next game releases in a timeframe that is considerate to the fanbase.

I'm really not for either side of the argument. I get into a game for maybe 2 or 3 months at a time and then I take a break for a while, so it doesn't really end up bothering me all that much. I think GT5 is a pretty good game, I mean I have fun with it, but I can understand people out there saying how frustrated or how bad of a game it is when they're playing several hours a day. I mean, I'd notice things too if I did that.
Preferably, I'd like PS3, because it means I don't have to buy a new system. Kind of felt screwed buying the Vita on opening day. It sits in my basement collecting dust. I will say though, standby charge time is very good, 3 months is quite a long time without charging 👍

It took 2 years to get GT5pnon PS3 and ANOTHER 2 years to get a FULL GT game on PS3. That's 4 years!!! Faithful PlayStation and Gran Turismo fans won't jump ship to that other console or PC because GT isn't on PS4 right away. SONY & PD are well aware of the importance of GT to PlayStation. GT on PS3 had to be built from the ground up.

I am shocked at the amount of negativity about GT6 coming out on the PS3. I would think everyone would be happier - I know I am.
Ragequit, really? I am so looking forward to having my hat explode into flames with all of the new tracks. Playing online every night gets a little boring running the same tracks over and over. I can’t wait to see a field of 16(or more) cars jumping up the stairs at Seattle.
Do you people think that PD is NOT working on the next gen release?
Much of the work they are doing now for GT6 on the PS3 will also be used in GT7 on the PS4. There is no need for a car that is more detailed than the premium cars in GT5. I am sure there will be many more in GT6 – hopefully all of the cars will be of premium quality.

How is providing a game turning their back on the fans? It's a lot better than having to wait possibly another year or two for the next GT to arrive on PS4.
As for being stomped by the PC sim crowd - that'll always happen, you can't compare console to PC in all fairness. Having said that, on another site I hang around, 90% of the members are dedicated PC gamers and they though GT5 looked pretty damn good for a console game when I posted up a load of photos.
As has been said, we waited (mostly patiently) a long time for GT5 - I doubt that the hardcore will walk if we get GT6 on PS3 and then GT7 of PS4 after just another year to eighteen months later.

I can't even believe what you're saying. If you had fun on GT5 for years, why can't you imagine having fun with next-GT on PS3? Would it suddenly become crap?
I myself, have been very vocal about all GT5 flaws: to me, GT5 is a total mess: everything outside physics is crap. So knowing that PD is going to release another Gt on PS3 is a great news. They have the opportunity to fix the problems GT5 had... and get my trust back. If GT6 is crap, great ! I ll know that GT is dead for good.
But at the end of the day, if you love GT, then you should be glad another one is coming because, as a GT will obviously come out on PS4 one day, that means we have MORE GT ! I won't sacrifice one GT just to get antoher one earlier. (Hell! Actually I d be happy to buy another GT every year...like FIFA !)

I fimd it baffling that people are under the impression a PS3 release will turn GT fans off the series for good, if you want to over-exagerate why PS4 is the only answer. Go ahead, but that doesn't make it fact. GT6 will still make a mint regardless of what console its on.
