Gran Turismo 6 E3 2013, General discussion(Live streaming links).

Really? :boggled: I didn't know that!
How do you do that?

In GT mode, there's a button on the left hand side with a note symbol on it.
This button opens a menu where you can listen to all the music in the game and where you can adjust what song is played when. For example you can adjust that menu music is played during races and so on. You also can deactivate songs you don't like.

If you scroll a bit through the music you will find some tunes that are completely deactivated. Just select them as menu music and enjoy.

16 on PS3, there is no PS4 version yet.

Appreciated.

Slightly hopeful for 24 cars even it meant taking off damage and other graphical settings but 16 with hopefully no blackscreens will do me just fine.

There is no way it will exceed 16,GT5 already suffers from frame rate drops with 16 cars hence why most offline races are only 12.

Framerate drops were mostly due to inadequate adaptability of and number of levels in the LoD system for the cars. Now, with tessellation, when the frame is late due to being over budget on polycount, the global detail can be reduced slightly to compensate.

There's still the AI processing etc. and extra memory for the extra meshes, textures and sounds, though.

Yeah Hopefully 16 becomes the Standards for offline A-spec events with adaptive Tessellation,I'm really hoping that this frees memory for a more advanced A.I algorithm

I remember that golden quote regarding A.I in gt5 by Kaz

an attempt has been made to express more human-like behavior in GT5.”

Also

our main objectives are to raise the bar for AI, physics, car modelling, sixteen cars on the track, 1080p, 60fps, these kinds of things

Edit: Reading these old interviews Kaz does mention how Car makers are not allowing damaged cars in the game.

Even with tesselation, when 5 or 6 cars get close together, that's a lot of "tessalating" to pull off, and may decrease framerate too. If they want to use tesselation properly, then global detail that's unnecessary should always be reduced, not just when all the cars are close together.

No way they can get more than 16 while pertaining resolution and fps. Even if they can, I'd rather they use resources elsewhere.

That's exactly what LoD scaling is for - to keep the effective polygon and texel detail somewhere around twice the pixel resolution over the whole scene, so that detail isn't wasted where it can't even be seen.

Tessellating is built into the vertex setup, which needs doing anyway, and I don't think there's a penalty for low detail as its offset by fewer polys to shade etc. The scaling metrics are tricky but I'm sure this stuff has been figured out for offline CGI already.

Umm. If you all don't mind me asking. But wasn't there suppose to be a news where Jordan had an interview with Kaz added to the news section? Or has that already past?

Yes, it's coming. Jordan had or has to transcribe it. In addition to other things in his life. Patience my friend.

The most recent story is still the release date of the demo.

Sounds just like the R35 TC on GT5.

Actually, isn't that the R35 TC or is it the Schulze Motorpsorts version?

Eks

Actually, isn't that the R35 TC or is it the Schulze Motorpsorts version?

I'm pretty sure it's the GT-R GT3 race car, so neither the Schulze Mottorsports or the R35 TC versions we have in GT5, it's a new car.

16 on PS3, there is no PS4 version yet.

They should just focus PS4 development on GT7. And I think that's what will happen. When is jordan going to post the interview?!!!!!!

This is an italian link:

They had a few words, at E3, with a developer (they did not say who...).
Here is what I consider more or less relevant, no real news though.

- The new rendering model allows better performance.
They said that 60 fps was always on during the trial they had... it is also true that it was only one car...

- Standard cars will be in the game. A new 'upscaling' system will make them closer to the premium ones.

- Damages are still a question mark. As we know an issue is that some manufacturer does not allow to have 'their' cars wrecked...

- Sounds improvement is a top priority for PD.

If the Italian guys got it right, it was said that PD (or Sony) is thinking to implement a 'feedback' system, so that people will be able to promptly indicate which are the major issues in their opinion.

That is GREAT to hear. I find this GREAT news! :D

Also note they've said "more than 1250" cars which gives a more accurate figure than the "more than 1200" given at the 15th anniversary event.

I bet that manufacturer who doesn't want their cars wrecked is probably Ferrari. As for the rest of that, I'll believe when I see it in the full game to pass proper judgement.
