Gran Turismo 6- What I Know

Allow me to call shenanigans on the OP then.

I don't think you can denounce one rumour/"leak" with another. I've honestly not seen anywhere credible pegging PS4 release as the second half of 2014 and even so, it's still a rumour.

But with GT's history, right now, not even Kaz will know when GT6 is coming out, so I'm certainly not going to believe some random internet bloke who just joined up today.

Sounds like the OP is saying that GT6 is currently being planned as a PS4 launch title, which makes sense considering Sony has been trying to have a Gran Turismo game as a system launch title since GT3. Heck, GT5 was supposed to be a PS3 launch title, but it wasn't nearly complete yet, so we got GTHD instead. Maybe we'll see some sort of GT6HD for PS4 if development isn't complete, yet.

Personally, I think a lot of the info the OP mentioned were things we already knew. Kaz mentioned that the development time for GT6 wouldn't be nearly as long as GT5's. Normally, they rebuild the game engine, but by simply building on it, they save themselves time. Maybe GT will get on a two or three year development cycle similar to Forza's two year cycle. Who knows.

Well no neither am I but I don't think March 2014 is too far-fetched. It's nearly three and a half years after GT5 and hopefully that was a one off taking longer than that.

I wouldn't doubt that we'll see a GT6 Prologue.

If it's using GT5 as a base as the OP said, 3.5 years is plenty of time to get GT6 ready for release.

If they skip out a second full PS3 game, leave us waiting 3+ years and then slap us in the face with a Prologue demo on the PS4 they can go swivel. Hopefully with Forza 5 being pretty surefire to arrive on the next Xbox around the same time they won't be able to get away with that.

I think Sony will launch the PlayStation 4 after the NextBox and will use GT6 to drive sales for the launch. This would make up for launching the console late. I think GT6 has that kind of pull.

Well i could get a pic of him in the PD offices, but that would be a one way ticket to unemployment wouldnt it?

I chose to reveal this info coz i know you guys wanna know whats happening, i know either way so negative attitudes may just stop the flow of info OK.

Then don't waste your time and our time posting anything at all, please. You've essentially said nothing, proven nothing, which therefore means your posts contain nothing. And if your have nothing to say, don't bother. Really, nobody cares about members that jump into a thread and offer nothing but clutter. Sorry to break it to anyone who was confused about the matter, but there's no prizes nor points redeemable for one's post count.

Stuff like: "Hah, I don't like what you like, so I'm just going to leave a dump in your thread and leave" is an example of trolling. I don't go to a boating forum and say: "Oh, don't have a boat, don't want a boat, but I could afford any boat I want", because that's just stupid, right? As a staff member, I'll just stick my neck out a little and say trolls have no place at GTPlanet.

Wow. I've never written anything like this before but I can't believe a moderator just wrote that if you were aiming it at the OP. Rude, not necessary IMO, and will drive away anyone with info from posting unless it comes from gran-turismo.com or another official source. If not

Even the Springfield Shopper is a source. Un-sourced information fine for open-ended discussion.

I'd continue this further, but I have to go play next week's lottery numbers, because I know those too (but I can't say which state or share exactly what numbers they are, mind you).

While i will not divulge my sources, you will have to trust me when i say i have contacts within SCE and may shed some light on the situation with the next installment- Gran Turismo 6.

Why should you believe me? Everything I reveal will be proven correct over the new year, as my sources are concrete and in regular contact with the PD offices for primarily marketing reasons.

I have three revelations that i feel i can reveal without making my "mole" too obvious to those at sony. They are cryptic but those of you with brains will understand them....

1. GT6 is not a PS3 game- it was developed for the next playstation (reveal at E3, launching 2014) from the beginning.
2. The Top gear license and premium cars will not be returning. Mainly due to worries over the gap between PS4 and PS2 quality cars.
3. The game builds upon the GT5 engine and has given them a huge development headstart that allows me to be confident that the launch window for GT6 is March 2014 in Japan.

Well done, as this is all public knowledge spiced up with some simple exploration towards GT.

1: Sony ceased production of the PS2 - presumably indicating a PS4 announcement later this year.
2: It was already rumoured for GT5 that due to the delays of the GT5 launch, the TG was near its end anyway. Forza anyone?
3: That's what Kaz said since ages: GT5 main goal was to build an engine which they would use in future.

Just try to be a bit more original next time, I'm not even mildly entertained.

have to agree.. I doubt that guy knows someone at PD, but I sure hope he is telling truth.. since all that is one of most logical ways for it to happen! 👍 cant wait for ps4 and GT6!!! See ya all in GT5 on---line! :)

He's a brand new member taking a bunch of common knowledge rumors (many of which amar has directly alluded to before anyway) and saying that they are the God's honest truth with no backing; then topping it off with how we don't have to believe him and he won't prove it, but that would be our fault for not doing it and we'll look pretty foolish indeed a year from now when he's long gone and he turned out right. And on top of that, if we question him then he'll step delivering his news.

The OP is basically just white noise.

Oh ok, I was wondering why Pupik said something about raising post count, didn't know what he meant at first.

As for OP.........well, what else is new?

Toronado

My point was he didn't do anything to deserve a response like that. By the reply you would think he made wild claims and insulted members in the process, which he obviously didn't.

I'm with you in this one mcfizzle.

A mid 2014 launch? Didnt GT5 get some teaser trailers like the year before it was announced? I believe basically everything else the OP says but the 2014 launch for GT6 in the middle of the year is quite debatable.

If he has information and wants to share it, please share it. Don't believe it if you don't want to. That shouldn't stop someone from saying what they claim to know. If he's lying it'll be proven false. If he's telling the truth it'll be proven truth.

2: It was already rumoured for GT5 that due to the delays of the GT5 launch, the TG was near its end anyway. Forza anyone?

Actually, due to the nature of the BBC's and Top Gear's licensing, it can't be exclusive to Forza, meaning there's really nothing stopping PD from re-using it, at least on that front.

GT5 had teaser trailers almost as soon as the PS3 was out :P

This.. This thread.. It just made my day.

Wow.

And if it turns out to all be false..

I'll lock myself in my room, and be screaming in my pillow for a week.

So.. Desperate.. For info..

And guys, just give him a break. It's not like he's saying anything crazy, all of what he's said is quite believable and has already been expected, so there's a slight chance that he's actually being honest.

I'm about 50% believing him, and 100% hopeful.

If GT is a launch title I fear for it tbh.
GT and deadlines don't go together well.
GT needs an open timescale for PD to get what they want in the game. Not decisions on what wont make it in on time.

I can see perfectly well what a launch title means towards the success of PS4. So there is some cause for concern because it is quite possible they have to meet the deadline. Not a good scenario.

Alas, that is all I can say for now, until 3 reveals all.
This one is probably the most disappointing, to me at least. :(
I know, I know a LOT of you guys really hope this is true, but I don't know why the PS3 could not have coped.
I remember reading, (fairly recently) that by Sony's own words, NO game currently available is pushing the PS3 to it's limits????
Does this include GT5?

You know when your GT5 disc freezes? ;) Yeah, GT5 really is something pretty awesome. Of course, Sony would never own up to that... They've got consoles to sell. Saying that gives the consumer a bit of "trust" and "courage" upon buying it. In fact, I think most games run a high-usage CPU program thingy. Yeah, again with my vocabulary. Point remains: I think at least GT5, Battlefield 3, and some of the other "big" games with big maps etc., really take a chunk out of that "supercomputer's" ability.

My friend's GT5 disc is barely (or not) scratched. But, his old generation PS3 can barely keep up.

PD with deadlines = rushed, incomplete game

PD without deadlines = rushed, incomplete game

They need to get their house in order. Deadlines are not the problem. They had 5 years to work with GT5 look how it turned out on launch. Turn 10 puts out games every 2 years.

That's not entirely true, I remember reading somewhere that the latest uncharted had the PS3 running at 99%.

I'll try to find a source.

EDIT: I couldn't find the uncharted source, but here is the director of FF XIII saying that it uses near 100%.

The PS3 couldn't even handle Skyrims DLC.

In fact a little bit of research will show just how many games max the console.

This isn't a bad thing, I hope that developers strive to do exactly the same in the next generation.

True, all very valid points. :)
I guess it make no sense for Sony to talk their best system down. Sales are what they want.
I guess I'm lucky that mine has not had freezing issues, that and the fact the game/disc rarely sees daylight, it never leaves the console.

Oh, ok. 👍
Yeah, as mentioned above, I guess we should not take everything as truth regarding what "Sony" say their system can handle. :)
