While most people here are doomposting the potential addition of a Toyota C-HR (if it is the C-HR), I for one am actually interested in that car the most.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a terrible, pointless car in the real world. It's nothing more than a Corolla that's worse in many ways. However, it's an everyday car which we can hopefully gussy up into a supercar-slaying demon, and who doesn't have fond memories of taking an econobox and race-modifying it in older games?

For me, Gran Turismo has always been about taking a car with humble beginnings and beefing it up into a monster, and that's something I'd like to see more of.

Although, as usual, GT7 has never had a problem with the content, be it cars or track list. The problem has always been that the game doesn't use that content. GT4 was a masterclass in giving you a reason to use almost every one of the 700 cars.

Why does the design on that F094/S remind me of Colton Herta's IndyCar?

I, too, am also interested in the C-HR, as long as it's the GR Sport version

Knowing PD I'm half expecting the most basic model with absolutely nothing interesting whatsoever.

Biggest engine? Nah
GR trim for styling? Nah
AWD? Pfft

There's a small part of me that's wondering if we'll get a similar hybrid CVT powerplant to the Aqua and Prius already in the game. Thing is, both of those cars have almost no power upgrades.

The IONIQ 5N is getting rave reviews across the industry, with the opinion largely being that it's the first enjoyable performance EV for enthusiasts.

You might not care about it, but you shouldn't mistake that for anything but personal preference.
Good luck trying to make that happen to a series that is STILL selling well regardless of how you feel about the Updates.
The game (which it IS a game, not a simulator) is yes, visually stunning. Has some cool features and for PS players it is does stand at the top of the list. But there are a lot more cons than pros. To spend such much time and money to make more cars that just end up at the dust bin of the list feels like a loss to me. The lack of real track updates is a big let down. The majority of the cars and tracks from GT 4,5 and 6 were so much more meaningful and had purpose. And the feature of being able to turn a street car into a race car in the garage should’ve stayed in the game and improved upon. And how Sebring (arguably the most historic track) has never been in this game is ridiculous. I loved GT 4,5 and 6. I like GT7. I just feel they could make a lot better if they listened to the players more. There’s a lot of great ideas out there.

And you're answer to achieving that is to "fire everyone"?

GT7 is 3-years-old and very firmly in the latter part of it’s lifecycle. GT8 could be announced in the next 12-18 months.

A quick look at the DLC tells you all you need to know. The Toyota is likely part of a marketing agreement, likewise the new Hyundai. The Honda is a typical JDM model to fill out each generation. The single-seater isn’t licensed nor does it fit into an existing class.

Titles like iRacing are ongoing service models with paid DLC content. PD need to be mindful they need dozens of new cars and a healthy amount of new tracks ready for GT8. In addition to any new events & features. One of which could be race modification which will need lots of work.

Its not the cars personally…its the ffb.

Being too cocky to bother to implement fanatecs sdk which is over a year old.

Having the gt extreme being the official wheel, and still not even the whiff of an attempt at full force. The physics bugs which have persisted since July. July! This includes the oscillations rocking my expensive kit and making it feel like a busted vibrating bed in a cheap motel(gr1’s are impossible to fix. Rest of the cars i’ve made workaround).

Zero effort into vr…

Meh.

Pardon my whine…been a challenging week and im cranky 😂

I don't know that Toyota would ask for the previous generation of a model considered to be a wide failure as a marketing move.
If it were that, I'd expect the latest generation.

Again, your dustbin. Don't conflate that with a global opinion.

Personally I only drive the race cars when I'm forced to. Adding the "real race cars" you want would do nothing for me, but I don't pretend that they're completely useless and no-one's interested in them just because I have no use for or interest in them.

Frankly, most 2020s road cars you see getting added are going to be manufacturer-driven inclusions rather than choices by game devs - the Ioniq is in Forza Horizon and is confirmed for AC EVO, for example.

If you take out the Toyotas and the brands other games don't bother licensing (Suzuki mostly), the modern road cars PD add are pretty much the exact same ones going into Forza/Assetto/The Crew/Test Drive, just at a slower rate because PD have more of a focus on historical content.

If I wanted to play a game with only THE LATEST(ISH) GT3/GT4/LMH/MODERN SPORTSCARS, I have entirely too many options.

Let us normal car sickos have some fun 😔
Not in vr. None of those games exist to the vr driver. There is, and has been since vr’s release, only one driving game on PlayStation.

Melancholic end of GT7.
You sad sacks are hilarious. Why are you here? Is your life so devoid of anything that the thing you choose to do is whine about a game you evidently don't like on a forum about that game?

Maybe find a new hobby, like wandering wet gardens or taking pictures of mud puddles or something. The people at PD certainly don't care, and neither does this very healthy game that's in no way dying.

..cars like 14' Mustang GT500.
There's a 2016 Mustang Shelby GT350R. Seems quite like that.
Shocked Pop Tv GIF by Nightcap

Pretty different :indiff:;)

Edit: Actually, wasn't there a premium of that gen mustang in one of the previous games? Maybe I'm losing my mind. They should add the 2013 Boss 302 as well.. But hey, they also had a premium DC5 Type-R.. Still don't have that. Gotta make room for the eco crossovers :sly:

Yes the majority of the updates has been quite bad.

Gt7 is currently better than ACE. But i dont think it will be long until ACE will surpace gt7.
We know their is some very exciting stuff coming soon for it. In gt7 we are just in the dark, it has got so sterile. Feels good with something new and refreshing.
What happened to your GT7 rose colored glasses?

Why bother writing a smart-arse essay like that because someone posted one sentence that doesn’t float your boat? The confrontational mindset of some of you is honestly disproportionate to the random negativity. If you want something like that to stop, ignore it instead of giving it attention. Phrases like “is your life so devoid…” just scream keyboard warrior ranting, dragging the discussion down to an even lower level.

I cant say what the issue is with your tunes,I dont know your specs but when I get this triangle,a little weight/aero/power or ballast tweaking normally sorts it.I dont remember taking any big hits, power or weight wise though.Like I said I dont know your tunes so there all slightly different one way or another. 👍
My issue is I shouldn’t have to tweak the cars because they drive perfectly fine in time trials.
All my cars have all upgrades, wide bodies (where possible), large custom spoilers (where possible), and low aero for top speed.
Some of the vehicles listed are also engine swapped.
Even if the tweaking has minimal effect on performance, my issue is it’s not the maximum possible which the game thinks is undrivable when that’s not the case for any of these cars.

6 months. We had 2 new locations in the last 13 months.
Not sure they classify as racetracks. They made the game better about as much as the mom mobiles that keep getting released every other month.

There must be a reason why they aren’t adding Silverstone, COTA, or other good purposeful real life track. If its revenue then they should have a pay for update or yearly subscription for a guarantee of a set number of new tracks.

Adding a fake 90s F1 car is making a mockery of the best racing simulator. Add the RB19 which was one of the top 3 best F1 cars ever designed and since Red Bull is proudly a part of the game it would be appropriate.

It always annoys me the people who complain about slow cars in a GT game
Gran Turismo has always been about slow cars and Japanese ****boxes, if you want every single car you drive to be [Insert Hypercar here] Forza is right over there

Horizon 5 has more 'regular traffic' cars than GT7 has cars, so that comment is pretty unnecessary.

I actually did find out that the GR Sport version had a 6-speed manual version released in 2021, most likely the GR Yaris one

I swear Kaz mentioned he wanted to make a game like this.

That’s exactly what PD have been giving us with the new(er) cars:

  • Biggest engine? ☑️
  • Highest spec? ☑️
  • AWD? You becha

The GR models have so far been from 2019-2022. I’ll be totally shocked if it’s a base Hybrid like this

…over the GR Sport Hybrid

Might be a first for PD adding a lower spec of the latest Toyota model added to the game. Bucking a trend for normal road cars. I mean, Mazda have their highest trim models in the game represented. Same with Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Genesis and now Hyundai, Suzuki, Lexus and Honda.

Not a Toyota, but the naturally aspirated (ergo, lower trim) Nissan Silvia S13 Q's was a day one car, alongside the turbo K's Dia Selection (a GT Sport carryover). Wonder if that counts.

I said the latest cars. When PD have added newer year cars, they’ve been the highest spec models.
