You can tune your wheel and bit to improve things as the physics patch of July did have some good things..although they took most of that out(braking feedback) leaving the bouncy bouncy and oscillations of doom ..for i dunno. Funsies.

If your Fanatec, Sony/PD has ignored their new sdk for going on a year now. So im sure thats helping lots.

Presently they have us by the short hairs. If your a vr convert who isn’t going to race without vr its still the only game in town. And they know it. At least until ac evo hits console which appears to be more gran turismo, than grant turismo..
Cheers, I'll have a look on these forums and see if anyone has some settings they can recommend.

It's weird that "the worst update ever" discussion isn't including the one that nerfed the high-paying races on purpose and totally broke the game accidentally (1.07)

After testing out your suggestions, I can say with absolute certainty that they did make the triangles go away, but they did not improve performance.
Maxing the rear aero slowed acceleration and made the cars unstable when cornering.
For my USA cars, the rear ballast only gave the illusion of improved traction as the extra weight slowed the cars down considerably. 2-4 seconds slower on average per lap. Not to mention the detrimental effects on tire wear and fuel mileage.

I appreciated the advice but after testing, those methods just don’t work for me.
I'm curious - how did the max rear aero make the cars unstable? Increasing rear downforce will only increase stability as it creates understeer, especially at high speeds. It also only has a VERY small effect on acceleration.

Adding ballast to the rear at the same time can cause some liftoff oversteer which can cause instability when cornering. It's odd you find it slower. Every single classic muscle car (and a lot of newer cars) I've tested has been faster over a lap with some rear ballast. They were also faster in the drag races. I've even got a youtube video testing several scenarios where cars such as the quattro swapped Golf, Chevy Chevelle and Porsche 911 were faster over a lap with ballast weight, and more consistent, too.

With the release of a new formula car, and the RB2019 the Nations race on Saturday... what're the odds they're going to fix the FFB on high-downforce cars? Slim to none?
Good open wheel force feedback seems to be in the same purgatory as the Fullforce implementation and the modern Suzuka signage update from the 2023 GTWS, unfortunately.

Do we know if any of the world tour drivers have mentioned if the GTWS build of the game has it fixed? Considering they have to drive the X2019 every time.

@Normalaatsra I'll say it here - this CH-R addition is a better choice than another GT-R or a Vision GT or a new Ferrari.
If I'm not mistaken, other than the F430 Scud and VGT, we never had any other DLC Ferrari?

(I'm probably missing out some weird obscure rare Hagerty Ferrari thing I've never seen anybody drive yet)

Am I the Only one that Wishes they would add some more GT Cars? Considering the Bases for improving your DR/SR and what is Sport Mode is based around GT Cars? I would be happy with any GT Cars! GT1, GT2, GT3 or GT4 there are just wayyy to many GT Spec Cars across all Divisions to not have them in the Game. However, I would settle for Either a Nerfing or Improving Several GT Cars so we can Not just have the same Handful used on Every Single Event. The Monsoon in the Nations Cup @ RBR was Awesome as I was able to take the RCZ and Cruise to an Easy GT2 B-DR Victory.

No mate it's only probably the most requested category of cars in the game.

How about a simple FoV slider?
GT7 is the only racing game on the market that does not let you adjust the FoV.
Absolutely LOVE THIS IDEA. Can we get a Sticky or whatever for this Person. I mean Come On Now. I even have the PSVR2 and still would love a FOV Slider or at Bare Minimum other Camera Angles'? Also a FFB Profile for the New Thrustmaster T598 since I have that Wheel....🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️😂

I mean Gran Turismo absolutely CRUSHES Forza Motorsport in every Single Aspect except Vehicle Selection Specifically Motorsport (i.e. GT Cars, LMP Cars, Touring Cars Etc.) & Variety of Online Multiplayer Events. Coming from the Xbox I have said to Everyone the Turn 10 & Forza have A LOT OF LEARNING TO DO & could learn A lot from Polyphony and Gran Turismo!

Quite the bold claim, can you prove that or is this yet again an overexaggeration over a car you don't like?

Also: Your reaction to the Pic I posted humors me. Can't stand the idea that someone actually raced this?
If that's all it took to humor you, then I pity you. :)

The CH-R will probably get the GT-R NISMO '17 engine if they do add a swap to it.
It's probably worth noting that the back half of the GR Yaris is the C-HR (and Prius, and Corolla) while the front half is the Yaris (and Aqua, and Lexus LBX). I can well imagine that there'll be a GR Yaris or GR Corolla swap, or the 2JZ which goes into the GR Yaris and GR Corolla.

Or both.

Yes, but I'm unsure what the styling similarities has to do with engine swaps? Though the GR Corolla swap would make more sense than the GT-R engine, it wouldn't be the first time PD has added a swap to a car from an engine that realistically wouldn't fit right.

It's not the styling (which is entirely unrelated), it's the platform - GA-B front, GA-C rear.

Cars that share platforms usually share hardpoints for mounting mechanical components, like suspension, gearbox, and... engines. Thus what works in the GR Corolla (and at a push the GR Yaris, as they share the 2JZ in-game) should work for the C-HR.

Fitting is often a matter of time, money, engineering skill, and MacGyver. But most swaps in GT7 (not all, as far as I'm aware) represent real builds. Not always in a real fashion - the Beetle needs its back seats out for an H6 - but in spirit.

That's quite informative, thanks for the reply! :)

615 / 5.000
71 / 5,000
I mean, I was able to drive a lot of cars in GT 1, GT 2, GT 3 and maybe GT 4 that were current at the time. In GT 7 there are just 20 normal cars from the last 5 years. All the others are older. Station wagons are completely missing, as are concept cars. Why is there no Nike One 2022, Renault Espace Formula 1, Audi RS6, Volvo V90, Ford Mondeo, Cupra cars, BMW 850i or the dragsters from the first and second GT?
There is so much that is still missing but the main thing is a few old cars.
What is the point of dwelling on the past?
Most of the cars are already vintage today.

The max rear aero for me caused tendencies to spin in high speed corners and the understeer caused me to lose time in low speed corners. When I got used to the way the cars handled after this point, I would see my low aero ghost car pull away from me in straightaways.
For the ballast situation, the way I have my cars’ suspensions tuned, I don’t have nearly as much wheel spin as opposed to the default settings, especially when coming out of corners. Because of this, I actually reach higher speeds on straightaways and have significantly faster lap times without ballast even though the game is telling me using ballast is faster.

I think the more I use those settings I would get much faster, but with my usual settings, I have them so optimized for the way I drive I get faster lap times than I do with more track friendly settings. I don’t really have a better explanation. I just do better with what I’m used to.

You would be correct.
so what day is this maintenance / update supposed to drop? i am not finding any notice of it on Gran-Turismo.com
Probably Thursday. The server notice usually goes out on Tuesday, and the hype goes up on Wednesday. Since it's only Monday, we're not at that point yet.

Did a quick YouTubing for C-HR swaps. The only one:

2.4L 2AZ-FE from the Scion TC w/turbo:

Wouldn’t surprise me to see the K24A in the C-HR. It’s available for the GT86 ‘15. Plus, it seems like it’s becoming a popular swap after the last update. I guess if PD want to make it available for players to replicate the above build that’d be the closest engine. However, I understand if they want to keep it a Toyota related engine swap.

I mean it's not Scion are a position to make a stink about it. As far as I am aware, it's still a Toyota so I don't see them being against of.
