Calling it - GT8 will give us another starter trio of the C-HR, CX-30 and Jimny Sierra. :P
What's missing to complete a decent lineup of Japanese economic crossovers would be a Honda Vezel Modulo X (HR-V) hybrid. Apparently that's what it's called in Japan.

Yeah...... thats Gran Turismo Universe......

Vantage is cool, Kangoo is cool, I’m indifferent about the Mazda.

Like others, I’m starting to think that no more current GR.1, GR.3 or GR.4 cars are coming to GT7. Probably too much money to license and will be saved for GT8.
Cant wait for gt 8 then😀as a big offline single player mode player myself ,gt7 has been a bit of dissapointment for me in that department.Hopefully next one will get a career mode or something similar

The least I can say is that I was unaware of the success of this model outside the French borders.

So much the habit of seeing these vehicles in the hands of our postmen, small construction contractors...

I did not know that the Kangoo was sold in 50 countries and this Japanese event Kangoo Jamboree is surprising.

When it comes to the presence of the Kangoo in Gran Turismo, I don’t know what to think.
In south america (at least in Uruguay and Argentina) the Kangoo and her cousin (the Citroen Berlingo) are very popular for working reasons mostly

Very weird addition to the game but I understand it seeing the love the japanese people have for this "car"

You don't know that. You're just speculating.
Of course - as is everyone. But it is just not feasible in a game like GT7 to have an easy to use, track creator that will give the level of quality that GT7 has at present. I'm not talking about technically - because of course enough time and resources and you could make one.

But I'd wager my house on it. The one in GT6 was barely passable in terms of quality in the final result. The amount of resources they put into create Eiger makes me seriously doubt they'd even consider it.

Blind reply,
Just Saw the monthly car guessing game picture
Didnt read the article or any of the previous comments above

My guess :

Small hatchback
A Mazda 3 in the back
Some sport coupe on the right

Man this hard...

Edit: corrected my English grammar because it originally made no sense as I typed on the little phone screen half awake...

Well, you got 0.5 correct.

It’s only my opinion but this update is 💩
It's not just an opinion, it's facts.

Apart from the Aston, the other two cars are worthless in a racing game.

But we were all warned, that the addition of meme cars wasn't going to be a "one and done" type thing.

It's almost as if PD saw the hype around that huge Spec II update, and went "lets not do that again".

This is just a handful of cars I could quickly think of that would be a lot more fun and exciting to get. Like we still only have one can am car. We have the skyline super silhouette and nothing to go with it. It wouldn’t let me load the fox body mustang pic. Why did they introduce skoda and then just leave it at that? Such bizarre decisions at PD
And there are hundreds of other cars that would have been amazing additions to the game. But somehow, PD finds a way to add a huge variety of 💩.

At this point, it's not just saving content for GT8, is straight up wasting resources modeling cars the vast majority of players never asked for.

Prioritizing a Renault Kangoo over a modern Megane RS, or the Focus RS mk1, or literaly any car with some sort ot sporty attributes, is wild.

You’re right, there’s hundreds of cars that would have been better. I get the vantage (don’t we already have one?) because it’s sporty. That Kangoo if I saw it on the street I’d probably chuckle and say what the hell is that thing? And then forget about it for the rest of my life.

I know I can’t complain about “free updates” but we all bought the game expecting updates. If this game was released and there had been zero updates and it had to float or sink on its own…. it would of sank.

We currently have this generation of Vantage:

We're set to (Supposedly) be getting this one:

This is a false dichotomy. It's not a choice between "C-HR, Kangoo, and other commercial vehicles" or "hundreds of performance and sports cars", but between what we get and nothing.

People can request what they like - in the Suggestions forum and the Car & Track Wishlist thread, not here - but it's meaningless without an (unmodified) example of the car to access for scanning, and that's meaningless without a licensing agreement.

Every brand is different, not only on what they want their cars used for but which cars and even which games they appear in. Some may not see the point of being in games at all, some don't want to be just another car in a list of high three-figures of them, some don't want to work with some developers/publishers, some only want to licence new stuff (that they can then sell; they can't make money on old stuff), some recognise that cool old stuff brings fans into the brand, some just want a stupid amount of money to even think about it, and so on.

No licence means no car, regardless of what you want to see. It's pretty much that simple.
I'm still surprised when people trot this one out.

Also from barely two pages ago, the Kangoo is massive in Japan. Yamauchi has long-stated that he sees GT as a way to educate people in car culture, and here's a significant part of it that people are just "give me more sporty hatchbacks" (which another user will be along shortly to decry as "mom cars") or "give me more old/new race cars" right through it...
