Fine then...

Please use this thread to make your predictions for, and discuss, Gran Turismo 7's next update.

We're calling it the April/1.59 2025 update because... reasons. We don't know that it'll arrive in April or be called 1.59, but both fit existing patterns; Kazunori Yamauchi has stated that the updates aren't monthly by design we have grown to expect it. However, there isn't a gap in the GTWS schedule to allow for the update to sink in, as there has been in previous years, and any April update will arrive right in the middle of the Nations Cup...

Notes:
  • DON'T POST WISHLISTS
There are no second chances on this because we've wasted too much time with people who want to divert threads from their purpose and we've gone out of our way to give them enough other places to get it out of their system...

Apropos of that, wishlists go in the Car & Track Wishlist Thread which we made specifically for that purpose:

  • Predictions are guesses with evidence. Given that the entire past history of free Gran Turismo game updates (with one exception) has given us the expectation of the number of cars (single digits) and tracks (one or zero), if you're posting ridiculously long lists of cars and multiple tracks then that's a wishlist. See the first rule. So are lists of brands (multiple) which have never been in the game series before or which have been cut and are showing no signs of returning («coughs» Lotus «coughs»).
  • bUt We DoN't HaVe AnY eViDeNcE. Sure you do. There's been almost 30 content updates now. That shows you what volume of content you can expect and what type of content PD is focusing on. Over the last year it's been filling in generational gaps of certain model lines (of which there's quite a few left), but there's also been quite a few oddballs lately, some day-to-day modern stuff, some well-placed cars from our Suggestions forum (hey look, another place to express your car/track wishes!), and some 4K-era upgrades to cars from previous games.

My prediction is:
We seem to be getting a sports car, so maybe the NSX Type S or maybe the Ferrari 296?
We also seem to be getting quite a few crossovers lately, so maybe a Nissan Juke or Volkswagen T-Roc?
We also seem to be getting a few oddball cars, so maybe something like the Fiat Multipla or PT Cruiser?

Of course, I'm likely to be wrong.

Standard next update (3-4 cars, corresponding new events for World Circuits, engine swaps, scapes, bugs breaking people's wheels, etc).

Bigger update end of May / beginning of June with a new track to use at the London GTWS live event. By then it will have been the biggest gap between circuit additions for this game. As for which track? I'm going to say Silverstone as it is highly requested, in several other racings sims (former, current and upcoming) and has multiple layouts which seems to something PD likes.

I think the only April update will be on the 10th (or tomorrow if they're faster than usual) fixing the Sport Mode wheel issue.

I was already 50/50 on whether GTWS would preclude a content update; now they've already had this issue overshadowing Manufacturers, I don't think they'll risk it.

Other racing games got some new Hypercars LMD - LMDh and normal cars from 2020's...(or some most wanted cars from every decade)
We will got something strange that we dont expecting like cars vans or a tanks...
3 of them... don't be greedy!!!!
3 events
1 Cafe menu
1 scape

This is it!!!Next month folks!!!

I Didnt Expect This Jennifer Lopez GIF by MTV Movie & TV Awards

There goes my prediction, I have a strong feeling that we'll get an update on April.
3 cars:
An American car (probably returning from older games like the Viper ACR)
A car from the leaked files
A racing car
A handful of new races and swaps, new Scapes location.
I believe that after the GTWS first big event we'll get a bigger update, probably a new track and some new cars that we can win as viewer's campaign tickets

I think we will get 3 -4 cars. At least one brand central car maybe a C5 to finish out the Corvette line? Maybe the Nissan Serena? I am basing this on the popularity in Japan and it would give the Alphard a rival. Maybe a race car of some type. At least 5 swaps and new menu event which would be the evolution of the van where you would need the Sambabus, Alphard and new Serena

- A modern American car
Safe Pick: Ford Mustang Mach-E (PD love their crossover cars and battery cars)
Plausible Pick: Ford Mustang Dark Horse (new generation of Mustang)
Troll Pick: Tesla Cybertruck (continue the trend of unconventional cars)

- A historic race car
Safe pick: Lancia Delta S4 Rally Car from datamine
Plausible Pick: Audi V8 Quattro (90s DTM)
Doom Pick: Nissan R390 GT1 (iconic GT)

- A Japanese Car from the datamine
Safe Pick: 07 Nissan GT-R
Another Safe Pick: 91 Mazda RX-7 R
Awesome Pick: 06 RE Amemiya Aspara RX-7

Wishful thinking: Twin-Ring Motegi with Sophy AI

Fun to see the American car predictions. I'd make one myself: the fourth repeat of the [some]-0-0-0 pattern of "American" cars concluded with 1.57 (1.27-1.32, 1.40-1.44, 1.46-1.52, 1.54-1.57), and we've never had four updates with no American cars.

In the last 15 cars added : Only one car returning, 14 new to series : 5 from Asia and 10 from Europe : 2 legends car // 3 used cars only // 10 Brand central. And only 2 race cars.

-Vantage '18 : European New to series (BC)
-CX30 '21 : Asia new to series (BC)
-Kangoo : European new to series (BC/UC)

-Z4 '03 (BC/UC), European returning
-Unimog '62 (Legend) European new to series
-205 GTI '88 (UC), european new to series

-F3500-A, new "fantasy" RACE CAR
-Civic SI '87 (UC), Asia, "new" to series
-IONIC 5 '24, BC, Asia new to series
-Toyota C-HR '18, BC, Asia new to series

-Ford Escort RS Cosworth '92 (UC), European/American new to series
-Mercedes-Benz W 196 R '55 (Legend) European RACE CAR new to series
-Porsche 911 Turbo S (992) '20 (BC), European new to series
-Porsche Mission X '23 (BC), European new to series
-Suzuki Jimny Sierra JC '18 (BC), Asia new to series

==> Since we got no tracks and I kept predicting one, I will go with no track this month (so I can be wrong again :D ) and 3 cars : 2 European and 1 from Asia, all new from series, and no race car (so I can be wrong again :D).

I will predict :
*Toyota Prius '23 : Close relationship with Toyota, and "Troll car" but the one we've got in game is from 2009... PoDy added one "Troll the playerbase car" in the last 3 updates : Kangoo, Unimog and C-HR
*BMW M3 G80 '20 : The latest gen of M3, since we have all gen but F80... And maybe the Competition version since they like to add the highest version (and we got an M2 Competition also)
*Alfa Romeo Stelvio : PoDy loves SUV... Great competition to C-HR or CX30. Facelifted in '23, maybe the 510cv Quadrifoglio version?
OR the Fiat 124 Abarth OR Fiat Coupé Turbo Plus : Both were rumored some years ago...

I feel like if we get the S650, PD is going to cheat and just put the new body on the old car. I'd rather have the GTD. That'll kill a couple of birds with 1 stone.

going out on a proverbial limb, i feel that PD will be following a recurring trend with their choice of cars that they offer us, and that recurring trend is the Crossover/ Utility Vehicle.
starting with the Urus and following it came a number of Sport Utilities like the two Jimnys, the Mazda CX30, the wonderful UNIMOG. I see in my cloudy glass bowl (not crystal ball) one of the following may appear in April....
A) Mercedes G-Wagen (any version)
B) 1979 Ford Bronco (for any OJ fans)
C) Pontiac Aztek (obvious reasons)

I think they will skip april to do a "big update" in May; so my prediction:

-Update coming by May 29th

Cars:
-1998 Porsche 911 GT1 race car (Gr.2)/Hagerty
-2019 Ferrari 812 superfast / Brand Central
-1974 BMW 2002 turbo/ Hagerty
-1992 Mazda Autozam AZ-1/ Used car
-2021 Volkswagen Golf 8 GTI/Brand Central
-2004 Chevrolet Corvette C5 ZR-1/ Brand Central& Used car

Tracks:

-Apricot Hill (Europe country location)

Sophy 2.1:

-New tracks added for Sophy
-Adjustments on boost/level

Scapes:

-Seoul

Events:

-Ferrari Challenge +1 (New track)
-WTC 900 +1 (New track)
-Classic Sunday cup +1
-American 600 clubman +1(New track)
-Sunday Cup +1
-K lightweight cup +1

Additional menu book:

-VW Golf GTI

Other features:

-New wheels models for Enkei and Rotiform

That would be the best update besides the one containing the Eiger Nordwand track and five cars we got a while ago.

Thats a wildly specific prediction.

Well, I am following some reasons/patterns:

-3 of the cars on my prediction are part of the infamous datamine list
-So far most of the racing cars added are classic (probably because license is easier and cheaper to get) and right now the relationship between PD and Porsche is really good
-As Famine has mentioned there is a pattern on when american cars are added and the C5 is an obvious candidate (PD likes the car and it is the only gen missing from the Vette)
-Big udpates usually come after a "rest month"
-Latest tracks added by PD are fictional (probably because of licensing cost), Apricot Hill is one of those tracks that was modernized for GT6 so most of the work has been already done
-Seoul is one fo the biggest cities omitted on scapes.
-It is pretty obvious that they will add more tracks for sophy with tweaks on difficulty
-Usually the addtional menus are related to cars added on the update, the Golf GTI is a big missing (because we only have 2 GTIs in the game) so adding a new one would make perfect sense to add this menu
-Races are based on the cars added like in every udpate (and when they add a track, usually comes with 3 or 4 events)
-The new wheels is kind of a wish but we have seen PD do this on the last 2 "big updates"

I'm not sure I could properly explain why... though, I would be overjoyed with the inclusion of a Pontiac Aztek in a future update.

The phrase you're looking for is, "Post-irony".

EDIT: They really should ad a serious of crappy cars so people can compare and contrast. The Aztek's interior could make a lot of extra noise. A Ford Pinto that kicks you back to the title screen if you get rear ended or a Chevy Corvair that just doesn't turn at any speed over 15 mph.

January update were all cars from Asia. February cars were all from Europe(except the Gr.4 Mazda3 livery). March were mix of Europe and Asia.

If a car from one of the Americas was to be added next update, I'd have to go with the strike rate of Dodge.
- return of the '71 Dodge Charger adds another Charger model to the lineage of '69 Charger and Charger Hellcat

I thought of the AAR Eagle, but I'm not convinced PD will another award car this game.

Which brings me to race cars. PD psyched us out with the Pikes Peak Hyundai by giving us parts instead of the full blown race version. A Gr.4/GT4 would be a possibly, but again, PD gave us an Aston Martin Vantage with GT4 parts for players to build their own.
Ferrari race car? Other than the award 512S that's about to be four or five years since winning, we're not getting much sign of an updated Ferrari GT3 car. Let alone a One Make Challenge car from Maranello.
I think the last race cars added were the Gr.4 Mazda3 MSR livery and GR010 Black livery. Before those it was the Subaru Rally Car.

I don't see a full on new or returning race car in the near future.

Second prediction had me pointing at the ND Roadster RF. That would make it three Mazda's in a row. In its place I'm predicting the GR Yaris '24 with the automatic transmission.

Final prediction is the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 '24. Adding to the growing list of SUVs and a quick four-cylinder version at that.

We also have never gone 7 months without a new track either.

Just seems odd they're still missing a notable Corvette from the lineup or a few choice Mustangs.

What do we have here then? The silhouette is obviously a Toyota Supra with lights on the roof like a police/safety car and the style is in the style of Kaz's teasers. I could see it be the kind of car Gran Turismo adds but I don't see why McDonalds would be the ones revealing it, it's possibly just them having some fun in the same style:

Edit: Played around with the image in photoshop, all safety cars in Gran Turismo are yellow by default but Kaz never has any colour in his silhouettes.

Kaz forgot to switch the accounts. I guess PD are really not making that much if even Kaz has to get a second job at McDonalds.
