Jesus christ… i think we will only see the newer GT3 and LMH cars in GT8 . (Aston Vantage GT3, 296GT3, 296GT3, Huracan EVO2, 911 992 GT3R, C8 Z06 GT3, BMW M4 GT3, Mustang GT3) and all LMH cars, we only have the toyota! If pd dont have the license they should bring fictional versions, like the C7 GT3 at least. The game has a big competitive aspect, to be honest, it's a shame that we have to race with such dated cars, like the 458GT3, M6GT3 M3 from 2011, Porsche 911 from 7 years ago
LM Ultimate - which is the WECs sponsored game is only getting the Mustang and Aston Martin in May.

I really think people need to let the GT3 thing go… I can’t see them adding more than a couple.

First generation BMW Z4 is fine. Continues the trend of filling out all generations of cars.
205 is one of the few "cool" Peugeots, though I wish the "2" was actually a "9."
Unimog is a brave choice, but I like quirky additions.

I'm more interested if anything else shows up in the trailer, though I'm keeping my expectations in check.

LOL….yeah, big difference there. GT7 is becoming a parody of itself. Last update had mom mobiles and now this.
Heh, first a 641hp performance car is a "mom mobile" and now a Unimog is barely distinguishable from a Kei truck...

It's okay to be ignorant of these things, but acting like you're not and then doubling-down on it is... a mood.

I know, but GT is a way bigger game than LMU, more workers and more money! I'm not asking for all current GT3s, the Ferrari GT3 (458) is already 3 generations old, in a competitive game like GT has become (every week there is a competitive race with GT3 and GT4) this is a shame and there's no way to defend it. As a fan of the game and the franchise (I've been playing since 1998), I wanted a little extra attention in this aspect, you don't need to have all of GT3 2025 but at least some newer ones...

That's a misunderstanding of how Japanese game development (actually, pretty much everything in Japan) works. They will look to get the most value out of every dollar.

Nintendo, as an example, uses past generation hardware for their consoles. They always have. It's less costly, so it drives higher profits. We are three years into this game, and it is extremely difficult to believe that work has not begun on the next iteration, even if it is several mor years before release.

The bulk of the "money" would go to the new team with a decreasing budget assigned to the current game. So, likely, there was less budget to go around this time. That's another reason why they recycle cars from past GT's (especially GT5 and GT6). There's less cost in upgrading cars when the groundwork has already been done.

So, with a limited budget, they'd look at the licensing costs for various cars. The time required to make those cars, and the potential reception by the community. Then, with all that in mind, they make their choices.

We didn't get the Toyota Hiace because of an unlimited budget. We got the Hiace because it's cheap and the community could do a lot with it. Whereas, let's say we get the BMW M4 GT3, the licensing cost would be high and people would just use that rather than the M6. That's exactly what's happened with the Lexus GT3 and the Skyline GT3

This is something I had to conclude when I realized all the Gr. 3 and Gr. 4 cars were the exact same as they were in GT Sport--we're basically never getting new GT3 and GT4s 'cause they would get in the way of the ones we already have. This, I think, extends to new models of cars like the Mustang on the American side of things, and Ferraris in Europe--sure the Corvette finally got its C8, but we're sure as hell not getting a Gr. 3 based on it.

The 992 GT3 RS, at least, gives us a way out of this by introducing things like the new Mustang GTD or the Dark Horse. But I can't imagine PD taking it without some kind of deal.

Oh well 2 out of 3 aint bad... would like a one click random car/race generator for some instant gratification... and bypass that haggard interface with its arbitrary limitations.

Maybe they'll add a minigame where you replace armco on the Nordschleife after it gets a 3 Series sized hole in it during a tourist lap.

(I'm personally hopeful it turns out to be a kei truck though)

Kinda starting to see the Unimog as a roleplaying vehicle--those aren't uncommon in GT I've noticed so in that case I'm actually kinda okay with it again.

The BMW Z4 is my favourite car, so I'm very happy with the known update contents so far. :D

Great having another relatively-modern roadster in the game. Perfect addition to the "Spider & Roadster" event I have over in a custom career mode project. Up to now it's pretty much just been Mazda's & the Honda S2000.

Definitely would be a fan of getting more road-going equivalents of the race cars we already have, especially if it really is the Peugeot 205 T16 and the BMW Z4 (E89) that we could be getting. Plus I’m down for the Unimog.

For likely engine swaps, I bet the Z4 could get the Z4 GT3 engine, while the Peugeot 205 could very well be a relatively newer turbocharged engine, like the K20 or K24 - both from Honda.

I don’t doubt we’ll see new rounds of the following:

BMW Z4: Either the European FR Challenge 550, or maybe even the Schwarzwald League.

Peugeot 205: Likely the European Sunday Cup 400 or the European Sunday Cup 500.

Unimog: Given that it seems to be in pickup form, I think it’d make perfect sense for it to be featured in a new round of the Pickup Truck Race.

If everything drove the same, and looked the same in replays, yes, maybe, but since they don't, this really isn't the case.
I was just saying that the driving view of the majority doesn't see the car. That's all not saying they all drive the same or photo/replay the same. :/

especially if it really is the Peugeot 205 T16
It's not. That's just about the only 205 model it can't be - that and the cabrio models. It's tough to tell if it's a three- or five-door, but from the side window dimensions it looks like a three-door.

I'd burst laughing if it was a 1.8 diesel, but it's most likely to be either of the two GTIs or a Rallye.

I’m alternatively down for one of those variants, what with them being versions of the 205 that one is more likely to see on the road. But seeing how we do have another French Group B homologation model - the Renault R5 Turbo - I still hope we see the return of the 205 T16 that hasn’t been seen since GT6. All of this being said, I’m still glad to see more Peugeot models at any rate.

If it’s the diesel I will personally fly to Japan and fart on Kaz’s pillow

Maybe I’m in the minority on this, but I actually think more of the same adds more value than content which stands in contrast to the existing. I think Lake Louise is a good example of this. Yes, it does represent something novel but is this actually an enhancement in the long term? I’m not convinced, because once the novelty has passed I usually return to what can be considered ordinary Gran Turismo content. The more of that, the better in my opinion.
I think Grand Valley or Eiger is the same. Two more tracks that are generally forgotten about.

I think it's deliberate that they aren't adding those cars in GT7. They're not adding everything they have available every month, they're saving it to make the updates last longer and really just make the updates consistent. GT8 will definitely have a large pool of cars and probably a few tracks to showcase to sell the game..

Oh I would definitely prefer a kei pickup truck, a Unimog would be cool too, but that’ll be even less useful than a VGT car 😅

A Unimog is more the type of vehicle you’d see on a farm or build site… not so much on a track (unless used as a service vehicle). Not that a kei pickup truck would be a common sight on a track, but still, it’s more of a road car that could be tuned to look cool and go well not as slow as standard 😅

So I’m crossing everything I can in hopes it’ll be a kei pickup 😎 🏁🛻💨
