With all the ambulance discourse, I'm surprised there's been so little chatter about the MC20. Isn't it exactly the type of modern sports/supercar that so many have been asking for? And yet now that it arrives, nobody dares to even mention it.
I did mention it in other thread but i say it again here

Great to see MC20 just those racing variants would be nice :P

The GR Corolla in the update is expected, but the one I'm looking forward the most to. Any new hot hatchbacks added to GT is good for me.

Outside of the Ambulance, I would also say the other 2 cars were unexpected by me. I mean, I figured a C1 Corvette would get added to GT at some point, but I thought it would just be the 1954 Convertible or the 1960 Art Morrison Corvette. As for the Maserati, that's just it; it's a new Maserati. Sure PD did add a couple of Maseratis in the past, but they were classic cars; more modern cars from the brand seemed unthinkable to me.

This is good, it gives me hope for a MC12 to come to GT in the future and perhaps even the GT1 version.

Weirdness dominates greatness. If the next two Tekken 8 characters announced were Alex (the Utahraptor) and Bruce (the kickboxer), as great as Bruce would be, I'm sure Alex would be more talked about that month.

I'm very keen for all four cars, what a mix! A new Italian supercar, a new Japanese homologation special, an epoch-defining American classic, and the one vehicle nobody on the Nürburgring dares overtake.

Maybe the Ambulance was for the sudden artery clogging shock forum users were to potentially experience when a luxurious version of the F8 missing two cylinders lol modern day supercar got released.

There is one thing that confuses me about this new update. Its the corolla.
My idea was the corolla wasnt coming to the game now but we would get it earlier, for free, by participating on an online event (similar to the ferrari vgt with the quiz some months ago). And the corolla would come to gt7 in september.
So why we getting the corolla silhouete now? Are they altering the plan and putting it ingame early?

No. It's got to be in the game so that people can use it.

The continued new circuit drought would seem to line up with the Covid development theory, in which they couldn't go to scan tracks due to travel restrictions for a while.

Maybe due to many various complaints overriding many players’ actual joy of cars. The difference in experiences of how people play, are forced to play and maybe how some have fallen out of love of this game. Maybe.

I mean, some of us that use and appreciate VR, can get a certain experience in a way, that helps us to appreciate the ingame cars. However, on flat screen, there are a few ways to get right up close and walk around to just look at cars(Livery Editor, Replay photo mode).
Other players just want to do the Sport Mode aspect regardless of peripheral. Which, leads me to not many players, if any, talking about something like the Citroen DS and the Ferrari Mondial. Even with favourite car and car of the week threads, we’ve got many cool cars in the game, but not much talking about admiring such cars. That part of car culture, doesn’t seem to be shared by the majority of GT players, in this GT forum.

More talk about what many players feel we haven’t been given, than what’s been given. Maybe.

I'm starting to think a majority of this forum would rather complain about this game for a decade than enjoy it for a day. And it's pretty sad to see.
Yes, we get it, GTP_User_5965. The menus suck, the AI is broken, the prices are insane. Everyone's heard it all a thousand times already. But if it's never gonna change, then why not try enjoying what works? We've still got a beautiful, expansive racing sandbox with a massive variety of cars and tracks. Have fun with it.

This was something I had to learn to accept. I still believe these are massive issues with the game, but then, every game has massive issues these days. Not to say that excuses it, but it's an unfortunate reality. So if I'm stuck with heavily flawed games, fine, I'll try to enjoy what I have. And since then, I've learned to enjoy custom races (AI sucks? Fine, put faster cars in.) and giving everything a lap around the Nordschleife. I'm having a great time.

It's not perfect. It's not a racing sim. There's things that are outright broken and shouldn't be ignored, and I'm upset that they haven't been fixed. Balancing issues that are frustrating. But if I spend all my time thinking about that, I'm never going to have fun.

Indeed, I can only think of a few players, including myself, that certain cars. I’m not seeing a plethora of Mustang lovers threads or Honda enthusiast threads, rotary enthusiast club, etc. I’m not just talking about photo threads or building a swapped out beast. I’m talking about how the talk of cars just fades.

Edit:
Similar to what AutumnalGlow just posted. Just seems to be more focus on that, than the enthusiasm of the cars.

It's like I've said for a while now - the spirit of car fans has been gone from this forum for a long time. It's never about what car looks coolest, or sounds nicest, but how it fits into the Sport mode meta, or how efficient it is for grinding the same few events endlessly. Obviously PD isn't entirely innocent here - after all, they haven't done much to encourage a different playstyle - but even so, I wish we could have a bit more of that ol' GT5 energy.

I get where you're coming from, but we also deserve better. We've had this franchise/series for 25 years now, and in many ways GT7 falls short of the mark of what the potential is.

I feel at launch, there was a lot of praise for the things the game did right, or was new and novel. But as time wore on, the gaps in content vs potential began to become more apparent.

For sure, there are many things that PD should be praised for, like continuing to provide free DLC etc. But if it doesn't address the fundamental issues that I believe the game has (I can only speak to my perspective) then we should hold every developer to account.

If PD had a community manager, or an official means to leave constructive feedback - that would be one thing. But as far as I can see, they don't. So we're left with effectively shouting into the void and because nothing (in general) changes, the frustrations only grow and grow.

Would having some kind of community manager even do anything if they have nothing to report though? Having someone in that role isn't going to somehow increase the content rollout. Stuff just arrives when it's ready. That's why there aren't release dates in the datamines

That's actually the main one I am waiting on, while the Ambulance may not be my cup of tea, GT is the same game series that featured a Ford Model T and Mercedes-Benz stage coaches so weird/quirky cars have always been their thing.

At first I was abit disappointed but it can actually be quite useful for custom races to add abit of realism.

If they are going to add in a First gen Rx7 it better be the 78-80 SA22C and not the FB . The FB is inferior to the SA unless it is in it's GSL-SE Trim but by then it's just an Inferior base FC. Mazda Downgraded the 81 base model and created the GSL trim to equal the first 3 years bade model. The only real upgrade was the LSD . They did add rear disks but by all testing standards the drums had better stopping power and fade resistance with the exception of the GSLSE which had drilled and slotted disks stock which marginally out performed the stock drums . In the real world disks were better because they didn't require the tedious adjustments but you dong have to worry about that in any videogame either. The SA is also the car that won IMSA championships , the FB did win races but all the iconic cars with their wide bodys are SA's . Plus they just look cooler than the FB , I would know because the SA's at the rotary meets draw allot more attention over the FB's .
A limited edition leather package or the JDM spec turbo model would be ace.
In Australia they are all sa22c from 78 to 85 ser 1 2 and 3, only ser 1 had drum rear end. And 13b was never released in Aus.
I've owned 12 of them over the years. With a decent diff, gbox and 13b turbo they are giant slayers.

I think a community manager would help just in terms of keeping people updated with any news, engaging with the audience. Gauging the interest about upcoming cars/tracks.

They might not be able to affect the rollout of stuff, but any communication is better than no communication. That's when people get frustrated because they have no idea what's going on. Tell stories about the whole team, not just the bits we hear about Kaz, let's hear from the team, humanise them and not just leave it to the imagination that they just do Kaz's bidding.

Communication is everything when it comes to games as service titles.
