My new Aston Martin to do the Hot Laps in Suzuka is ready!

I saw that Red Bull made a special white livery for Japan so I decided to copy them. ;)

Every time there's Formula 1 on a track that exists in Gran Turismo, I take my DB11 Biritsh Racing Green to simulate the usual Hot Laps in sports cars that are there.

Now it's the white Vantage. A little faster than the DB11, however, the sound of the DB11 is wonderful.

My imagination - for these events - goes beyond Hot Laps, but I don't think it's worth exposing here on GTPlanet. :sly:

Controllers
 - Fixed an issue wherein with certain steering controllers the haptic feedback would not work as intended during online races (both in Lobby and 'Sport' mode.)

McDonald's Supra Safety Car is coming in the next update

Obvious joke aside, it's funny how similar this is to a GT7 silhouette teaser.
And turns it it's for...

Happy Set® Tomica and GR Supra collaboration! This year, we will be holding an exciting and thrilling experience event limited to 90 people for parents and children to enjoy during Golden Week. Applications will open today, April 4th (Fri)! Tap the image for details!

Speaking of Toyota, do we think the TGR Cup is happening this year?

It usually gets announced before GTWS season, but this GTWS is also super early so I don't know what to think either way.

Food for thought:
On the occasion of the addition of the new Sophy 2.1....
PD in every update adds 3-5 new races...
We can create a nice race about at 15-20 minutes per race....
Is it so difficult for PD to create more events or championships?
Or are they so lazy to 'create' new ones and they deal with the Gran Turismo World Series events...

Think About It GIF by Identity
Since PD won't give us more options in the short time frame, they could at least make more races&championships where there's grid start or we start first, or there's only 1x or 2x tire wear & fuel consumption etc. It would take a few minutes.

Just a thought for future GT8 release consideration. With it probably coming around the time of the new consoles, some people have argued that it should be crossgen across PS5 & PS6, as was the case with GT7, as Sony can't afford to ignore the established userbase. Nintendo don't agree with that logic, they're bypassing the existing million Switch owners and making Mario Kart World exclusive to the new system.

Of course MK is the more popular and better selling franchise, a real system seller.

It's a budget thing. The cost of a GT is much bigger than a Nintendo game.

Rockstar Games just entered in the chat!!!!!

GTA VI (Coming Soon)

Experts believe that the cost of development will be between $1 billion and $2 billion, which could make it the costliest video game ever made. This would exceed the budgets of other big-name titles such as Destiny ($500 million) and Cyberpunk 2077 ($330 million).

Eh, Nintendo are kind of a special case. The Switch 1 is both very low-powered and non-standard in architecture, which means it is significantly more effort to port to than a PS4/5 or Xbox One/Series (see also: the headache that was Cell when porting to PS3).

Nintendo also don't put their stuff on PC. A lot of the value of a PS4 port in ~2023 is that lots of devs are already making a scalable game with low settings for your game to run on old/hand-me-down PCs, so at that point there's not much reason not to.

I wonder though how much evidence there is to support that MK is a system seller on its own, verses a game of opportunity when you have the rest of the first party titles.

GT is most certainly a system seller, as the people who enjoy the game most don't play too many other first party titles. Which would certainly be considered for a future console release to help get the console off the ground.

Let's see:

Switch: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best selling game at 67m units for a 44% attach rate
Wii U: Mario Kart 8 is the best selling game at 8.4m units for a 62% attach rate
3DS: Mario Kart 7 is the best selling game at 19m units for a 25% attach rate
Wii: Mario Kart Wii is the second best selling game at 37.4m units for a 37% attach rate
DS: Mario Kart DS is the third best selling game at 23.6m units for 15% attach rate

MK8D in particular is noteworthy in that it's a game that basically never stopped selling. It's the GTAV of the Switch - people buy a Switch and they get Mario Kart.

And is why we have so many dirty/bad drivers in Sport mode....
