Reading the YouTube comments for that review suggests that a lot of people disagree with ReviewTech's assertions. Their comments on it being an 'upscaled PS3 game' are especially off when you consider the improvements to the dynamic weather/time systems, and the fact that ray tracing is an adjustable setting for the PS5 version.

Trying to sit through that review makes me thankful that we have people like @Tidgney, who actually give out balanced viewpoints on GT7's strengths, weaknesses and quirks through playing it first-hand.

And @Tidgney claiming there's actually 50 Cafe menu that covered race cars from a source.

Here's what a 30 lap, 20 car grid, Gr.3 race at St. Croix C on Professional difficulty gets you in both games:

GT7:

You make almost 200k more credits for winning this race in GTS than in GT7. Your statement is false.

You can also add NOS to a Gr 3 car and slap on turbo and get the same pay out . Something you could not do in sport .

Could you test the polo / Gti against ONEgr B opponent on fishermans ranch and test harvee's GT40 vs a field of GR 1 . 40 laps on a track that's like 5 mins long is almost an 4 hour's long ordeal , still a garbage payout in both games.

This game is otherworldly.

I've been trying to find UFOs since GT4 and I think I found one in New York photo mode. ;)

By the way, the Falcon Heavy taking off that I found in Daytona is just part of the Easter Egg.
For those who are familiar with this area, knows that "other things" happens afterwards. Well, PD put this second event as well... :sly:

I posted a video a couple pages back. :)

The last update objectivley made the game worse .
it broke Missions and Licence test by borking the tire compounds .
downgraded the particle effects across the board on all versions to the point sparks no longer show up when you colide with a barriers and dust is no longer kicked up on many tracks when going off track +, clearly a bug because none of these effects reduced the FPS, only the rain spray did but it seems some clown at PD just universaly lowered all the effects equaly Or PD was clumsy and coded all particle effects together, I suspect this is the case because the handfull of NEW particle effects such as collision debree, Radiator smoke and dynamic grass debree were left untouched but all the effects carried over from sport got nerfed hard and some LOD's are bugged .
Randomly the same 2 songs loop in menus or music doesn't play at all.

Load times are worse on base ps4 as well.

The game was better on the launch day version .. PD jumped the shark trying to fix progression and HDR slider but busted everuything else .

I got the Photo/Scape trophy by photographing... planes!

Well I finally got my preorder launch day version of GT7 for my PS5. I am thinking about waiting to play until I get my 2nd ssd. I genuinely excited to play the game. That said I realized this is very flawed game with numerous issues but I know I will enjoy it. Hopefully I will be able to buy an MR2 and not have to wait for it to appear. But if I do oh well 🤷‍♂️

I haven't seen any announcement on maintenance. Is this your hope or something confirmed?

Ive been playing the game since day 1 and still loving it despite the issues and niggling design choices but there you go.
A couple of observatuons and a question, why do some of the opponents in single player mode have names above the cars and others dont, and can you disable them?
The more i play the game im noticing quite a few framerate drops, not enough to spoil things but they are there, and not just the ones DF pointed out in their review.I dont remember the framerate drops in GTsport so much but its a long time since i played it.
I wont mention microtransactions.:D
Since the update little things have disappeared like sparks when you hit barriers, dust not being thrown up so much any more, glowing brake rotors seems hit and miss for me.Having said that doing the HSR grind today all races had glowing rotors on replays yet yesterday some did and some didnt.Go figure.
I realise when you fix one bug it sometimes creates an issue somewhere else,i suppose thats just the way it works,so overall im happy with the game and dont regret buying.Im just hoping some changes, like better race payouts for example and extra races and events to pad the single player mode out a bit.
Sorry for the long ramble.👍

Not only sparks and dust when you fly off the track but the smoke, dust and water spray is practically toned down by 80% and that broke the immersion significantly... I haven't touched the game since last update 😔

In the PS4 base i have more fps drops in the rain now than before with the realistic rain spray.
They reduced de particle effects and the game performance worst...

I hope they add a Sport Mode tab online. Before Monday.

"a 'Gran Turismo World Series Test Season' is planned to start on Monday, 21 March."

And add a "s" after Follower.

Its the same on PS5, there are drops here and there that i didn't notice before the update. There where drops at launch but that was when you pushed the game to its limits by choosing 20 cars with heavy rain settings. Now i get drops without any ai cars or weather and some of the drops feel like 40fps. The second last corner of the Fisherman rally circuit is the most obvious one, there it feels like it drops to 30fps for 2 seconds and jumps back to 60.
