No support of psvr in ps5 games (only in ps4 games in backward compatibility) also no psvr2 in 2021, disappointed

Jim Ryan “I think we’re more than a few minutes from the future of VR. PlayStation believes in VR. Sony believes in VR, and we definitely believe at some point in the future, VR will represent a meaningful component of interactive entertainment.”
“Will it be this year? No. Will it be next year? No. But will it come at some stage? We believe that. And we’re very pleased with all the experience that we’ve gained with PlayStation VR, and we look forwarding to seeing where that takes us in the future.”

I have a feeling GT7 will be released when the Coronavirus pandemic ends. So, sometime in May 2021.
Well that doesn't make much sense. They could release it during the pandemic and still sell the same or even more copies than they would have, because more people stay at home and play games. Also how can you be so sure that the coronavirus pandemic will end in May?

And I don´t think we see GT7 soon.
Maybe late 2021 but not a "hey its done and here the release date".

And what I don´t like the most is the total lack of any support for GT Sport or an info if we can still expect stuff for that game.

It will be a bless if covid 19 ends around May 21 but i find that very very optimistic .
Pandemic may affect of course many areas but that is something we all aware of from personal experience much or less.
Also i think the end of pandemic is totally irrelevant with the release of a game or everything else .
The virus right now is totally uncontrollable worldwide but on the other hand life goes on under any circumstances .
Heaven can wait ,Sony can't and they need desperately new titles for their new "toy" .
The true reasons that GT7 is at TBA condition or at coming soon condition is unknown or well hidden from us anyway.
We can make only hypothetical scenarios about that ,hope the one or the other , assume this or that etc.
With more than 50 years on my " back" am a bit old fashion guy so ill keep faith to the well-known :

I fail to see what the pandemic has to do with the GT7 release date, and why it would "end" in May. It might just have slowed development down a bit.

What about the article in PlayStation magazine? I know it’s not official from Sony, but why not? I think any release date announcing still this year, and than until three months later first quarter release? It could be. But before we get nothing, it could be anytime in future..

Alex,

it has been stated now several times that the official only has the Sony licence but they are not controlled by Sony,

So their knowledge and info is on the same lvl as all other mags and most of them don‘t even consider the game for 2021.

And the pandemic is good for the industry.
Check the stats. People are forced to stay at home so they play more and buy more ;)

Indeed, streaming services and gaming have had a captive audience, a dream scenario for them.

EDIT:
To put it another way, a developer's wet dream would be to have the population choose to stay home and not attend work en-masse.

Me and my Wife were talking about the streaming thing yesterday. Oh... DON'T watch the new Fantasy Island movie. :yuck:

Anyway...
Regarding some of the details PD have added to cars:
Dirty Audi LMP, the dirtiness of the Group C and vintage cars up close, scratches on the wheels after racing

If GTAuto is back and washing cars is once again a thing, will our cars stay dirty until we clean them?
In VR, it would be pretty cool if windows stay dirty. Some vehicles have rear windscreen wipers. Looking out back and seeing a dirty glass, then, activating wipers to clean them are neat details.

Vintage cars leaving oil deposits on windscreens

What about the oil film on the windscreen produced through emissions from the dashboard material? PD would have to allow you to wipe it with a cloth using the interior view.

I kid of course, but one day the law of diminishing returns will see the dev tackle the mundane. :gtpflag:

There will very likely be a PSVR2 announced very soon
Afraid not.

It might come when the PS5 is ready for VR, but I wouldn't buy GT7 primarily based on that expectation.

Well it isn't the only expectation i had. I will still buy GT7. Even if it will be flat screen only. But it is still let down non the less.

It's possible
https://www.gtplanet.net/jaguar-already-wants-to-build-another-vision-gran-turismo-car/

The same way Mazda showed a sketch of the RX-V, Jag could do the same. Takes about six months to build. That could mean the car is ready for the game on debut in May.

Yes there is that but:

- Revealing a new VGT for a game that still hasn't had an official release date and is still far out (While the current one is still going) seems like a questionable thing.

- If this is true, how do we know he isn't mistaking this for the Lamborghini or Porsche VGTs (The ones we actually still don't have)?

I would like to strongly emphasize IF here because alot of people seem to keep choosing blissfully ignorant optimism over cold hard fact even though this is PD (Who for a fact have a reputation for delays and making massive promises that don'tcome to pass when they say it will).
