Looks I'll miss all of this, since I'll be out of town the rest of the week. Oh well.
Yeah kinda bad timing for it to happen. Most people that play and are in the countries that are observing holiday this week will be too busy to see this celebration and/or even watch finals.

For those who will be away, Remote Play may be a solution - especially as it's not a requirement to race so the connection quality doesn't really matter.

Early access before it's sold in Brand Central. Makes me believe that Polyphony are secretly withholding cars that are already completed and only releasing them slowly in batches through updates.
Why does it make you believe that? 😅

I can't really say I'm disappointed, after all, it's finally a new track and Road Atlanta is certainly an awesome one. But really, what a great missed opportunity of bringing back Grand Valley on this update. I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate 25 years of GT's history and tradition than adding a long-awaited historic and traditional classic track from the series. Because, let's face it, Grand Valley is by far the most iconic and popular original track still to be added in GT7.

I would innocently say that next month we'd get Grand Valley, because December is the actual anniversary month of the series, but honestly, we'll likely have to wait for another 5 months to get a new track... and hope it's Grand Valley or at least a classic original one.

It‘s just a shame PD didn’t include all the standard cars from GT6. I mean, in fully rendered form. For those of us that are interested and like to replicate stuff like this.

We finally have the E30 and Sierra. Thing is, in GT6, we have the Motul Civic Si ‘87, R31 Skyline, a rally Starion(at least, until the leaked used car arrives). GT7 are getting there, but would have been nice to start with all those past cars. They’re cheap and would add playing value to the game.
As much as I get people(and myself) want brand new cars, those old staples in the past games, really fit this game. The graphics, sounds, physics and especially, customisation & livery editor, prove this.

Cars like the motul civic are what made GT GT, we need them back

Going to be working all week for the next two months so I'll probably miss the event, and even if I wasn't working, not sure if it's enough to warrant me to setup my PS4 again and boot the game back up. Credits and freebies are nice, but too bad I still can't buy-and-drive the cars I want.

Also hope they have more Driving Missions coming forth as well, preferably none of the "Chase the Rabbit" variety. More than halfway through the game's first year of life and still only one additional set of Driving Missions has been added.

I also miss all those random ass standard cars. I miss the rare versions that might be faster than the others. It made the used car dealer addictive to run through.

Random but I always figured they would eventually incorporate your own cars showing up in the Used Car Dealer after you sold them (maybe eventually showing up driven by the ai). Was in disbelief when I had to search google to read that car selling is no longer a feature of the game. w.t.f.

I just hope the AI is better on Road Atlanta here than they ever were in Forza. They took so many of the turns so slowly that it was boring. Guaranteed win every time.

I liked having all those GT2 cars in Forza though. The Esperante and Lizard 911. Most of all, I liked using the slower cars. Late ‘70s Opel Kadett, A2 Golf GTI 16V, Mazda Protege, etc. As Bathurst is a mini Nurburgring, Road Atlanta is like a 3/4 Bathurst. Lots of elevation change. In a short lap.

PD's gone time travelling again.

Still no Patchnotes for the Update...?
Patchnotes are never available until the morning (or whichever time the update hits in your timezone) of the update, been that way since day 1, don't expect it to change :)

Another question: MR cars got an update a while ago and people wrote that they got better handling. Just tried some. Especially the Gr.3 Huracan. What a disgrace. Is it just me or are they still really bad. I am on controller. Its the first Gr.3 car i could not win in. 7th place 35 seconds behind Portilla. As soon as i brake or lift it gets out of control.

I wonder if with modern machine learning texture upscale software they could uprez standard cars and tracks from PS2/3 era and have a decent quality result. Would be interesting to see.
Yes , there are GT4 mods that have AI upres textures of everything but still it wouldn't be good as GT7 cars are , with tracks maybe? i dunno

I found the handling of the Silvia's to be a ropey too under braking or with sudden lift off oversteer.

What I found helped is to hold a bit of throttle while braking, something like 10-20%, to stabilise the rear.

Adjusting the brake balance fwd etc isn't going to help, but having a bit of throttle engaged will.

Edit - this was a reply to KAlex but I hit the wrong button

So, the actuall Bonus Campaign 3 x 1 million is for this weekends races or did some of them happen already?
Again, we wrote an entire preview article for this and will post live stream articles every day 90 minutes before the races.
