I don't think he was whinging. Good faith criticism isn't whinging. I love GT but it has critical issues that prevent it from becoming truly great, in my opinion.
For me as long as viable solutions are offered, criticism is fine.
The issue with RoflWaffle was that he saw that the first negative GT7 video he made did well, and then it started coming across like he was cashing in on that negative sentiment.
That's why I encouraged him to make a video along the lines of "How I would design a racing game" to put a more constructive spin on it. There were probably others wanting a similar thing, and likely himself too, as he eventually made this:

I see what you're saying, but I just think he had a long list of issues and wanted to cover them in separate videos. It's also possible he wanted to find a balance between growing a channel, where multiple videos does well, but not cutting up stuff just for the sake of it. Brevity is important imo, his videos are very tight in that sense. So I don't really have a problem with him splitting it up to talk about his grievances when each video still feels fully featured and is tight.

I really liked the My Version video as well. I can see how some would get a bit fatigued by the criticism. As someone who has issues with the game, the critique is something I don't mind watching, as it's quality content and I really enjoy his style of videos. But for those who feel like it's a bit much, I can see it. But I think that's more of a personal taste thing rather than a video quality thing. They are all well structured and good faith videos and it covered a wide variety of issues he had.

Variety is good indeed, don't get me wrong. Had it gone on for years, I would agree that it was time for a change. I just feel like it wasn't necessarily an objectively bad thing that he did a series on all of the issues he had with the game.

As someone who plays the UFC games, I could make like 8 long videos all on the game's issues, and going over ways to fix them. They, to me, are critical and important things that need changing. It'd be one thing if it was a minor thing that wasn't really a problem. But when they are fundamental game design or other significant problems, I don't think it is cashing in on the negative sentiment.

At the same time, I don't see the idea of splitting them up into multiple videos to be 100% cashing in. It's kind of both I think. You make the videos to begin with because you have issues you want to talk about. But also, if you want to grow your channel, putting the individual topics into separate videos is a good way to go, regardless of the sentiment around the game.

They may as well have said it's coming February 🤣 That would be closer to the truth than January. Fingers crossed we get a decent update. They've had 3 months to come up with something.
I guess I was born in 2001 then.

This is even worse than saying that free updates aren't free because you paid for the game and console. What blunt did you hit?

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Motivated by the recent development in US politics regarding Elon Musk (not the topic here), a number of popular Reddit subs appear to consider outright banning content from X (formerly Twitter). Today I saw redditors mention it in a discussion around Gran Turismo and Kaz' tweets about upcoming updates for GT7. Is this going to become a topic here on GTPlanet? Not so much in the forum, but in the News section? I often see X postings linked in the articles, and I wonder if this is going to change.

People are free to discuss whatever, but if you mean our coverage of updates then no.

I brought this up back in November after the election:
I wonder if Kaz will find a new platform to share his silhouette teaser going forward. I think X has become a questionable fit considering its soon-to-be ties to state government.
Back then I was mostly concerned about the sudden blurring of lines between a private enterprise and state-controlled media. Somehow it no longer seemed to align with the marketing activities of Gran Turismo. However, since then I would say X has become even more controversial. Musk is acting like he has lost any grasp on human decency and is just trying to ruin the good reputation of Tesla and Space X. :boggled:

my latest news is logging on to make some $$$ in Tokyo and "DNS error" offline mode.

Note that my friends list shows, my trophy list shows, I can even go to PS store and buy the PS plus free add-on for Sky.

GT7 was glitchy last two Sunday nights racing with friends

Tried this?

Tried this?

1) hardwired always has been
if #2 and #3 were issues then GT7 would not have worked previously in identical configuration and other SEN functions I detailed would not work.

Frankly I'm wondering if Polyphony operations for NA are impacted by LA fires and on a smaller capacity DR/BC server solution.

I've had GT7 since release and never had these issues until recently.

You have little to lose but five minutes of your time.
