This is kinda where I wonder if it's even worth it for PD to bother spending that extra time on little details. I feel like there's a point where the focus on quality is too much and PD hit that.

Especially when it comes to track modelling where apparently it takes way too long for them to model a city course now because of all of the detail they would have to put in. But do you need to put in that extra detail? Really?

Yes, I switched to Forza Motorsport after the addition of the BMW M Sport V8 from the 24 Hours of Le Mans, I always hope for a solid and "Competitive" response every month from Polyphony, because hey, I love Gran Turismo! And yet, nothing, vans and crossovers.

I just had a look at the car list for forza motorsport and i have to say they have much better cars, for my personal preference at least. I would love PD to add another modern day hypercar to give the toyota gr010 some competition

City courses are different - while Kaz is the person who spoke up about it, nobody in the genre is really doing photorealistic urban areas other than the new Test Drive game, and we'd all notice and complain if a new GT track had TDUSC's level of graphics. Even the other open worlds, FH5 and Crew Motorfest, try to get away with as little urban buildup as possible in their maps.

That is absolutely a "city courses are really challenging at current fidelity levels for everyone" problem rather than a "PD are perfectionists and take longer" problem.

The fundamental formula is 4K assets take a long time for all developers to make. City courses just have way more assets than stadium or mountainous circuits, and because they're all unique you can't just copy and paste either.

I just can't recall the differences(if any) of La Sarthe in each GT.

I regularly test new forza motorsport content.
And no, clearly gt7 has nothing to envy to forza, especially the interiors are not incredible. (and I have forza on PC in ultra)
Even compared to project cars on some aspets.

what i can see GT4 is the oldest data (duh) not being HD , only since GT5/6 track been updated into HD with new assets then ofc in GT Sport remade which we got in GT7 too

I am much more impressed by them gravity defying ultra-high durable power lines that seem to be beams made of weightless material that is ignoring any kind of forced movement by weather effects to not put the slightest strains on the poles than I am by the lack of detail compared to the "bad FM".

If this car is being made available/delivered in the summer, does that coincide with the official GT7 Nations and Manufacturer events? I did mention that Gazoo Racing E-Motorsports events usually begin around April. Both series would be an awesome way to debut the virtual car. Especially driving it before any real world owners get it.

For as much as Turn 10 could take from GT's relentless eye for detail, PD could absolutely take from Forza's lobby features, multiplayer event rotation and actual semblance of communication.

I was only talking about the visual aspect, in particular the vehicle modeling.

I have nothing to say about the game's multiplayer.
The career mode, on the other hand, is one of the worst in Forza Motorsport.

But I completely agree with you about PD's non-existent communication compared to forza.

True, but there are no solo multi-classes or endurance races.
(Because the AI is incapable of managing the pits properly, easy to make some tests.)

Which is quite outrageous, because in the first launch of the game, you drive in a multi-class endurance race... which was completely scripted and doesn't exist in the single-player.

I play FM23 and GT7 on a regular basis,each game has its merits.GT7 car details blow forza out of the water,however FM car list has something for everyone,I prefer the car choice in FM but thats my opinion.What I dont like is the FOMO thing every month,plus the real lack of races.Once you have done the 4 open class tours,there is nothing,career wise,left.You have multiplayer,TT and the monthly races,back in GT7 you have a lot of races to cover even if they are chase the rabbit formula.The AI in FM leaves a lot to be desired though,handling wise they are both slightly different but I cant say which one is best or realistic on a controller.GT7 and FM are both great on a controller but never tried a wheel on either nor have any desire to,ive never found,nor I suspevt most pad users either,GT7 `unplayable`on a pad
In my own opinion both games are good for different reasons,if you want to see a real crap shoot head over to the official forums for a laugh.Some of the comments are priceless.
This is just my take on it all,no grief intended. 👍

It is kinda sad how we don't have all these cars. Partnership my arse.

GT7 is really above everyone in detailed futureproof models, and that can be appriciated in PSVR2 wich I really enjoy.

But this also makes me sad when they waste resources on some "useless" cars (looking at you C-HR), and at the same time we are missing some relevant road cars all other games have (I30 N, Audi RS models, new VW GTI/R to name a few).

Also one thing that I think wouldn't be hard to implement would be drive modes for cars, for example additional "fake DCT" mode for Ioniq 5 N, and ability to change torque bias. These 2 things real car have, and are ironicaly written in GT7 car description, and you cannot access them.
