"Hating the game", go take my words out of a blue. I hate the way game is handled, after such promises of "returning to original GT"
There is no taking your words "out of a blue". It's the same crap everytime that adds nothing to the discussion. Contrary to popular belief, you can hate the way a game is handled in a far more constructive way then the nonsensical means you repeatedly do (which is why I'm calling you out on it).

BTW, nice response:

DM'd me just to make a locked conversation, such an adult action. Can't handle getting called out? Tough stuff, maybe stop doing the thing you keep doing.

And if you take any statement by Kaz or PD as such a promise, you are setting yourself up for disappointment, that's on you.

If the devs promise the game the will be a certain way and then it turns out not to be, surely you can’t blame the consumer for being disappointed. That’s madness.

Even not taking Kaz at his word and then seeing what we got, it’s still really not like past Gran Turismos. I mean, some people that have played through the whole franchise and didn’t know what Kaz said about revisiting the past Gran Turismos in feel, still feel GT7 lacks the nostalgia of past games.

Ironically, a game that got a lot of boos is GT Sport and that game feels more nostalgic than GT7.

GT7 has everything we need except for B-Spec and track editor. As many passionate players point out, we just need some kind of organised progression and replayability. We have all kinds of events and yet some major ones lacking for certain cars in the game. There are Championship races from PP 400 -> World GT PP 800 and those feel like they’re cast aside after completion.

The real gems are the Clubman Cup+ events. Those indeed feel like nostalgic GT. Also the attempt with the NEO-CLASSIC Competition races.

Anyway, so many races in the Event Directory and while they’re good in concept, the saying for this game is they’re “executed poorly”.

Yep, the lack of freedom in progression was this game's biggest problem for me. "Career mode" presents you with one menu book at a time, and then provides you with three cars that you can use for each one. Sure, you can go to the used car dealer and pick your own ride, but I was always hesitant to do so because of the chance that a later menu book would provide me with that car for free.

In a "classic" GT, most of the menu books would be available from the start, and it would be on you to acquire a car for each one.

Also, last week I finally learned what everyone meant when they complained that some cars "have no events". I bought some classic racing car for a bonus menu, and thought "I'd like to race this real quick before I turn around and sell it again". That was when I discovered that the Sunday Cup... doesn't allow race cars? Since when is the Sunday Cup not a complete free-for-all? That ain't right.

I was disappointed about gt6 though back in 2015. It didn't have a large variety of modes/races for people to choose from. I know there were 30 tracks and 1,200 cars to choose from but still... it was nowhere near what gt5 had. It had five different leagues you could take part in which was fun. Plus the special events that was available for us. The coffee break challenges were hard as hell to get a gold in too, in gt6.

I do like the menu books in gt7, PD stepped up with this part of GT, I think and the lap challenges/Sport mode events and championships/ GTWS series.

I can't believe it's already time for another gt7 update, seems like we just had one in January.

Its hard to feel nostalgic about a game which released 2 years ago.

But this is the same timeline for most other franchises. It gets released, gets some hate and in 5 years time a new game will release and everyone will hate that one and the older games will receive praise for being so iconic.

The game could have felt nostalgic on release. If the menu music was like the past games. If the menu itself had the style of the past games. If certain events were 300km or 99 Laps. There are a host of nostalgic elements, if done right initially, PD could have hit that mark on the game’s debut.
Trial Mountain is in. Deep Forest is in. Grand Valley is in. However, those circuits aren’t triggering certain nostalgic feelings from players that played the original layouts.

GT7 is a game that does a little with a lot of cars, they really need to put the brakes on adding meme vehicles and think about features because there is really not much new that they've offered that's been fully fleshed out with this game. Sophy is still half baked, weather is still a limited offering.
I don't think fewer new cars would help with any of that.

Now that the games been out a while, the game needs something like a second season, opening up new levels 51-100, bringing in new career events, 2-4 hours endurance races, championships, events especially for historic cars (those cars that a currently useless), going back to GT1 there needs to be something mysterious event or video that teases GT8 that unlocks upon reaching level 100.

Missing despite being "featured" in the intro movie and some trailers..

Ok… but if at the end we will discover that a swap with Corvette o Bugatti engine will be possible and you will have a sort of dragster available… I want to see the same complaints… 😄
