I didn't fall for anything. Do you think I fell for something when I bought GT7? Forza Motorsport is a completely better as a racing game. Again, you haven't played it. You are a Troll.
I've downloaded FM8 since i have 3months of gamepass for free with the new pc i bought and honestly compared to GT7 it's complete dog**** wherever you look at it,be it physics, graphics, online etc. Especially with the wheel it's so bad... idk how someone can prefer it to GT7

I seriously don't get why people still abide by fanboy drivel like this.
You can like or not like whaetever aspect of either game but there comes a point where you're just making things up for no reason.

The online in FM8 is genuinely leaps and bounds better than what GT7 offers - I think they looked directly at Sport Mode and its complaints and responded to every one. There's race variety, there's car variety, there's frequent track rotations, and there's even lobby features that GT7 desperately needs, like being able to purchase things in lobbies and 'borrow' cars to use that you don't own.

It's the one thing that the game does hands down very well, and to me the dead ringer that anyone bringing it up as a dunk on the game just blatantly haven't even tried to put any effort into objective thinking. The only thing I see people frequently dislike about it is it the penalty system which, if you look at the Daily Races thread here, isn't exactly a unique problem.

This is a wider thing in the modern GaaS game space as a whole, where if a game is derided on either its reveal trailer or its launch, you are almost never removing that negative perception, no matter how much you polish and improve your game.

You can do it for single-player games given enough effort (Cyberpunk, No Man's Sky), but it doesn't work for GaaS, once you screw up the launch you lose your mindshare and it's almost impossible to claw back.

So the lesson for PD is to make sure GT8 both reveals and launches smoothly. They got very lucky bricking the game in that one update didn't hurt them long term, I don't think that'll fly next time.

The problem with fm8 online is that is completely empty and no one is playing the game. So the grid is you and yourself alone. So sad

I see we're still resorting to smack talking games that I pretty much question the smack talkers even actually playing.

Its why I have never subscribed to this Tribal BS, which is made all the more trivial when it pertains to the very niche activity of playing pretend Race cars over the internet.

I have to assume that the people partaking in this type of tribalism rarely ever have anything better going on in their lives, so they cling on to something pathetic like a brand to shape their identity.

Maybe GT7 physics were better before the questionable July 2024 update which resulted in flying cars. Ever since then GT7 physics have been plagued by inconsistencies. During the same period FM physics have been consistent and predictable.

Graphics-wise the two games are close to being evenly split. GT7 wins in car modelling and lifelike visual style, but in other areas of the graphics it’s easy to tell that FM is a newer title than GT7. FM has also undergone some significant improvements to the graphics since it launched.

The main thing that keeps FM from glory is how the game feels almost like no game at all. Their reboot of the franchise basically removed ‘game design’ from the equation. FM also launched without hundreds of the cars that were in FM7, and they are slow and hesitant at bringing back many of them. GT7 has almost nearly every car PD has released since GT Sport.

I find it ridiculous that GT7 doesn't have a BMW M5 of any description yet Forza Horizon 5 has all them bar the newest one. It's absolutely inexcusable to leave out such an important car. It's also inexcusable to not have ANY Audi RS4, RS5 or RS6. Are PD allergic to German sports sedans or something?

Inexcusable is a very strong word imo. I understand that these cars have a relatively big fanbase and have relevance in the presence that shouldn’t be underestimated, but if start with important cars that the game is missing and call it „inexcusable“, we could go on the whole day I guess. And it still depends on personal preferences, for me the game is missing important cars like:

Audi Quattro
Lancia Fulvia
BMW M1
Alfa Romeo Spider
Citroen 2CV
Fiat 124 Spider
Ford RS200
Pontiac GTO Le Mans
Volvo Amazon
Mazda Cosmo Sport

And so on..

These are all pretty important cars and I would like to have them in the game, but I wouldn’t call it inexcusable that they are missing.
If we start with this, we have a lot of inexcusable stuff then, as tastes and preferences are very different and the game will never ever please everyone.
I haven’t even started with race cars, pre-war cars or whole brands like Lotus or Bentley.
And GT still is a Driving Simulator and focused on automotive history, not just the latest sports cars.

Well, as per the last couple years, Spoon Sports have again updated their S-Tai livery for 2025. Sneak peak before the Super Taikyu season opener this weekend at Motegi. C’mon, PD. Just build them a dang Gr.4 CTR already.

Livery name: “SPOON リジカラ CIVIC スーパー耐久2025 Rd1”

It would have been nice to have a proper Gr.4 variant of it :D

Agreed, Sport mode is pretty much useless to me because regulated motorsport racing is so boring for me. Forza on the other hand seems a lot more fun to race online with the variety of races and the fact that you can make a Honda Civic keep up against Lambos and Ferraris seems so ridiculous and fun at the same time.

I really wish PD would bring Shuffle Racing back, GT7 desperately needs it.

You'd think they'd learn a thing or two after seeing that less than 20% of players raced in Sport mode back in GT Sport

It is a question for @Marcus Garvey !
lol Yeah. The car we have in the #12 livery was driven by Sir Stirling and Peter Walker at the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1954. The car suffered a brake failure while Moss was driving down les Hunaudieres, and did not finish the race. The car was sold by the factory, wrecked at Goodwood in 1956 and retubbed with a spare. It then changed hands a number of times, racing in the UK until being sold in Canada in the early 1960s. The car remained out of sight for a decade and a half, until it began to appear after its restoration in the early 1980s. It changed hands again at least two or three times, eventually spending much of the last 25 years in the US running historic races in California. It was sold to someone maybe close to ten years ago IIRC, and has seen regular road use. It was then sold again about a week ago at Amelia Island.

I think it's just a result of Kaz's personal vision of how the game should look like. He doesn't seem to be affected by the wishes of the fans whatsoever. If every GT player did a poll and voted for an M5, he would still probably be like "yeah, and.....?" 🤣 I remember the M5 was never really a staple in GT games at all barring the 2005 E60. Don't think they ever had any others. Same with the Audi RS range- you had the 2008 RS6 Avant and that's that.

... by Kazunori Yamauchi to make a posting on X. As always a man very dedicated to detail.
I forget the name of the current owner who just sold the car, and I don't know who the buyer was. Been super busy with work and haven't to talked to anyone there since the auction went through, so I haven't kept up. IIRC the previous owner was somewhere in Arizona, not far from the previous owner(late 90s until maybe 10ish years ago) well known collector Terry Larson. I think the car had remained at Larson's shop after he sold it for a number of years.

I haven't been thinking PD has done a great job handling the multiplayer aspect at all lately, like they actually gambit the quality of online lobbies and some single player elements for Sport Mode and somehow still managed to fumble that experience. Repeat tracks and cars are just the norm - in a game with over 500 cars and 118 track configurations. Its mind blowing.

We could probably do better during those boring Sport Mode weeks. It would be more engaging for everyone, but the Multiplayer seems either gimped or ignored for some reason.

I didn't own GT5, so I never got to experience shuffle racing, but it also makes no sense how lobby settings/features just manage to keep disappearing between games.

This is true and more attention needs to be brought on this. Even after 3 years, the Lobby experience in GT7 feels half-baked and barebones, I really wish they could fix the host migration issue(which wasn't a problem in GT SPORT) and bring back past features.

The Paddock was a step in the right direction but pretty much dead on arrival, I think the interactive UI should just be integrated into lobbies instead. One of my favorite kind of lobbies back in GT SPORT was Nürburgring Touristenfahrten, it was really immersive and most players actually roleplayed into it.

The Touristenfahrten layout is STILL available in GT7 but for some reason it's locked away and only drivable in Time Trial mode, no Lobbies. Paddock had the perfect opportunity to host the Tourist Layout but they seemingly just forgot it's even there.

I really hope they do better in the future, GT7 is such a boring game for me right now. I only join every now and them, drive around some lobbies for a couple hours and then wait for the next update.

The thing they would have learned is that is actually a really good number - multiplayer modes on primarily single-player franchises are generally dead as a concept, if you're getting double digit percent trying your multiplayer on a not-dedicated multiplayer game you're doing really well nowadays.

M5 and RS6 are in the leaked list. There is always the possibility they'll come to gt7 in the near future.
