but is it worth getting a PS5 just for GT7
It's almost never worth getting a console just for one game.

The PS5 definitely improves the experience (and not by a small margin), so if you're putting thousands of hours into it annually and/or it's your primary form of entertainment you can make a good case for it, but I'd never answer "yes" to that question.

A random question for those of you who have one, but is it worth getting a PS5 just for GT7? I've been playing on a PS4 and I'm kind of getting tired of the lengthy load times and hearing the cooling fan whirring away like it's going to explode into flames at any moment.
The PS5 version is a big upgrade for a number of reasons (loading, 120fps, Dualsense) but if you're not going to play anything else on the console I honestly don't think it's worth hundreds of dollars.

I have bought a PS5 Pro only for GT7.

Also PSVR2, the Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel and a PlaySeat.

Thing is I don’t know what $600 is to you so I can’t tell you if it’s worth it for you.

I personally have spent more money on dumber **** and considering how much I play GT7 I feel really good about my investment.

I bought the PlayStation 1 when I saw for the first time Gran Turismo at friend's house (1999).
I bought PS2 to play with GT3...
I bought PS3 to play with GT6...
...then I skipped PS4 when came out GT Sport because I felt abandoned by the series of Gran Turismo (but also because I had other issues in my private life...)

But then went out GT7 and I bought the PS5... (even if I am not young anymore from a while...)

Had I played to something else in the meanwhile? Almost NO...
...but most probably it is a my problem... :embarrassed:

Normally I'd say no just because if that one game doesn't live up to your expectations, its a waste. However: For having far less heat or noise (And greater ease of cleaning), I would say it is.

For the existing version of gt7? No, it's too short for single player.
Depends how you play. If you only play single player content, it is a bit short. If you do TTs or dailies, or lobbies... you can play a lot.

My opinion:

For the version that was advertised or promised by Kaz ("endurcance races are coming soon", kaz on twittter after the botched update) ? Yes :D
We've been playing for 3 years now. How is that short?

Also, if you want an "endurance" race so badly, make one with the custom race option.

I did it. Did I do it SOLELY for GT7? No, but given that is what I play 90% of the time, that may as well be the case.

It makes the entire gaming experience better for whatever you play, and you can move your PS4 games over and improve their performance as well. I still have my PS4 sitting there, but I rarely turn it on now.

I would have to say yes to this too BUT (and it's a big BUTT) i cannot afford a PS5 at the time, i'm on a tight budget at this time...

I did exactly this.

Two catalysts came about for me to take the plunge;

1.Old TV kicked the bucket, forcing me to buy a shiny new 4K model.

2. My mobile phone supplier offered me one on finance through my existing contract.

Btw: Why they removed the tiremarks when you do a burnout but when you use the handbreak, there are still tiremarks. I want to do circles again.
I can only assume it's for processing. Early on there were tire marks for everything, as with smoke. But throughout the game they have slowly been dialing them back.

This guy asked an e-Motorsports staff in the HRC, whether GT7 will have the GT500 NSX / Civic, and the staff said they've been on the waiting list for about a year.
They (or does he mean many manufacturers?; unclear in this tweet) want their cars to get a chair in Gran Turismo, so PDI has been really busy.

it seems PD needs more hands then :P - also i would like to see that waiting list

Something I always wondered. Since new events are tied to new cars, I wonder how what event will the Acura Integra Type R (DC2) '01 would get should they readd it? Since it would be considered as an American marque, it cannot fit Japanese FF Challenge series, nor American Sunday/Clubman Cup would fit as it isn't truly an American car. PD seems to be aware of the latter as the Escort and Sierra were given Race of Turbo Sports Car races instead, but the USDM Integra is a NA car so they cannot pull that.

Maybe it would be the point they gave us a Type R Meeting Extra Book?

EDIT: Same question also applies to modern Integra Type S, except Type R Meeting wouldn't fit that.

The Sierra does appear in American FR events so I can see it going in the American Sunday Cup

In the Gran Turismo universe the nationality of the car is the same as the nationality of the brand.
