I seemed to stop getting notifications from this thread for some reason. It was around the time where a load of messages talking about the update got relocated to another thread. Got a couple pages to catch up on

A random question for those of you who have one, but is it worth getting a PS5 just for GT7? I've been playing on a PS4 and I'm kind of getting tired of the lengthy load times and hearing the cooling fan whirring away like it's going to explode into flames at any moment.
PS5 + VR2 + G923 just for GT7 is worth it for me.

Posted it elsewhere but there's really nowhere to race any of these cars that they're adding.

The AI is dreary and good luck getting a full grid of players to race where a Kangoo is competitive

Not until PD fix the single player campaign. By giving us options & choices we don't have but had in GT3!

As I've said many times before, the base non-Sophy AI is in fact very competent, but held back in 95% of the game with bizarre choices in race and behavior settings.
I also suspect this theory to be mostly truthful, because from GT3->GT5 the AI was 'stupid' but fast & challenging given it had decent race car cars etc. So why the normal AI in GT7 is conditional bad&boring is beyond my comprehension, perhaps only Kaz knows?

Have you heard of daily Race A before?
Yes. Really great for when you happen to like one car at one track, for one week at a time, every 16 months.

I think you need to try out the Viper weekly challenge. It's evidence enough that they are capable of creating AI capable of competitive events.
I gave it a go and I think the AI is flattered by the fact that they are very difficult cars to drive and that they are running all driver assists. I would not be surprised if they were dialled in as well.

When it came to non-traction areas I was pulling two seconds on the AI between the final tunnel and the finish line every lap.

I don't think this is an indication of GT's AI being good, it is just GT's AI put in the most favourable situation, where the player is wrestling with a completely unwieldy car (I used the '06 Viper and maxed out the rear wing).

PD can't hide the AI's flaws the same way with low power road cars, without just starting them further up the road.

How do you work that one out? The non-Sophy AI doesn't move aside if you're clearly coming through at speed on the racing line, other times they often pit-manoeuvre you or turn into you as if they have zero awareness the player is there.

I just realize that Forza Horizon 5 is releasing on PS5 the same day/week than a hypothetical 'April update' could come to GT7.

Last time when Forza Motorsports released on 2023, PD came back with the Spec II udpate; do you think PD could release another "big update" by the end of April?? 🤔🤔

Would be great but that‘s most likely wishful thinking.

April feels like a month that's quite likely to not have an update at all, if anything - the GTWS schedule would leave little-to-no room to fix anything that was inadvertently broken.

PD didn't "Come bacK", they simply released an update likely already planned that just happened to be within the same time period.

Yeah, I agree that it's all coincidence with anything PD does in relation to Turn 10.

At this point, I've lost all hope for the changes I'd like to see coming to GT7. I have a tiny bit of hope that I didn't know I had, that a sequel will be announced at some point and have some of those changes.

But I appreciate that sort of talk belongs in a wishlist thread.

Looking forward to seeing what event they intend the Kangoo to compete in. I say event because I know there ain't going to be multiple 😂

Following with what I did earlier, here's shared content statistics for Update 1.56 cars ahead of tomorrow's update (numbers are number of pages in each type of shared content):
