I do enjoy the world series streams. Think they can be quite fun watching to.

But i would rather have pd focus more on the single player stuff and other areas to improve the experince. But i think gt7 is at its very end soon. So i dont expect anything major until gt8. The updates dosent bring much to the table either. Very few perfomence cars. No good single player content. No tracks.
But sophy ai in custom races was a very welcome suprice.

I am still intrested on what response pd and Sony will have this month given fh5 releases on ps5

I got an '06 Viper as my birthday gift when I logged on yesterday and well, it seems a bit rubbish offering cars that can be bought for less than 1m credits, but they can give away 2m credits for a single decent lap of Daytona on the online trial.

so you had a car + an easy 2M credits for your birthday !

I will get FH5 just for the fun of driving in a open map but it is a complete different game. They are complementary not rivals.
Rivals, not rivals, it barely matters. PD doesn't observe what other games are doing and react, ever. In fact the last time I recall even a mention of any other title, it was Spore.

What on earth is the context for that hahahaha, I remember the Bad Piggies mention vividly though, it still keeps me up at night.

Youtube views are very low for such an event with promotion by the organizer. Regular updates videos get more views (and the numbers are not impressive either). So that's an indication that those events do not attract a big crowd.
GTWS livestream viewership stats, using data posted by @Dibs on event threads after it wrapped up post-race:
Funny you mentioned Porsche because there was a Porsche-themed event back in GT Sport:

But now, they seem to move to either iRacing or Raceroom. But I hope in Toyota’s case, the regional versions of the GT Cup could remain in one form or the other.
There was also this in GT7 in the US (the 2023 competition moved to time trial format like HRC eMS before being discontinued altogether):

I admit that I can be blunt, but exactly how am I coming across as hostile & confrontational?
Well it kinda came across like you were belittling them just for stating something they wrongly believed to be the case.
A simple correction on the fact as Famine did is all that was needed, rather than putting a focus on the mistaken user.
I'd imagine this is the kind of stuff that could cause someone to leave an internet forum altogether.

Holy exaggeration.

There's a way to say this without coming across as hostile & confrontational.

Well I don't watch it and neither does anyone else I know, both online and in real life. Nobody cares.

There's a way to not call the folks that do care and did watch, "nobody".

Considering how some folks, who still need to carry a towel with them, to dry behind their ears, don't often concern themselves with insulting others and move on.

So because I put only in all caps two words in an entire sentence (As opposed to a whole post in caps), I was "Hostile and Confrontational". Abit overreactive if that is aggressive to both of you considering what I have seen here on this very forum.

Except I'm not belittling anyone. Said user has repeatedly posted in this fashion (and not just to me either) so it's less "Mistaken" on his part and seemingly intentional. I simply asked for proof on his statement and instead he comes back with that. No numbers or data, just a broadsweeping statement posted as fact based solely on him and everyone he knows not watching.

I just wish the participant variety would go up a notch or two. It's nearly always the same people.

I guess we find out soon enough.
Not really, no:

It doesn't matter what any other games are doing, PD does PD.

We do find out when its update time later this month. Unless you have some insider information, that we dont have access to.
Pd might not care what other games are doing. But Sony does. And they are controlling pd pretty much. Just like Microsoft for forza.

Releasing the most popular current racing game on a rival console sure could put more pressure.

Sony care about the 30% they get from each sale of Forza on the PS Store.

Sony will care if they see forza horizon 5 getting more attention than their own flagracer.
1. They would only care if it was still an exclusive to a rival system and people were buying that instead of a Playstation, and spending their money on the Microsoft/Xbox store. Now the games are on Playstation they just count the cash and even promote Microsoft games themselves on the official Playstation social media channels and Youtube.

2. Getting more attention? Have you seen the preorder charts in practically every PS Store on the planet? That horse has well and truly bolted. Horizon is the top dog.

I would prefer to have all racing titles on all plattforms. It would be much better for the competetion. And would force the devs to put in more effort.

Not saying that i dont like gt7 i do. But their is areas that could be much better that sadly has not made any big improvments even after 3 years. Pretty much any modern racing game nowdays have terrible single player career and progression, and it use to be strong point like 15 years ago.

It doesn't matter what any other games are doing, PD does PD.
Of the big names in the non-arcade racing game space, it seems to me like everyone is going in the same direction except Polyphony.
Even its most closely-related rival, Forza Motorsport, has been making a habit of adding racecars. It just added another two in its latest content update from what I can tell.
GT to my knowledge is the only one offering things like the Unimog, Kangoo, C-HR, CX-30, Alphard, HiMedic etc. It's a bit like it's in its own genre within a genre that no one else inhabits.

Some may see this difference as a good thing; GT making its own distinct identity. Others may wish GT was closer to how everything else seems to be; staying relevant to the current racing game landscape.
I'm somewhere in the middle. I think my ideal 3-car structure for each month/update would be:
  • 1 low or medium-end road car
  • 1 medium or high-end road car
  • 1 race or rally car
  • They can be a mix of any era or type/category

How exactly does a title that is pretty much at the end of its own life cycle with this PS5 port the ONLY thing left putting more pressure on PD? Its Horizon 5, Not 6.

As mentioned, the only thing Sony will care about is how much that they are about to get from a Forza title (Something I didn't think I'd even be talking about, but here we are).
