Have you tried GT4 Spec II and GT2 Project A-Spec? The latter adds cars that modders built and they usually look as if they were part of the game if not often better while Spec II adds new events and features. Old GTs gettin' some lovin'!
They're both the most definitive ways to play their respective games to me. I mean, I'm still going to play the base game of GT2 & 4, but god I love playing those mods.

----
and the best part with those is that it's only the beginning of GT modding. There's going to be more fun ways to play classic GT games down the road, I know that for certain.

Lol, I rarely use my car horn in any race. It's only necessary for getting some of those pesky A.I. out of the way.

So Genesis just revealed their real world LMDh car in New York, and they had a Gran Turismo rig there.

It should be noted that the car used for it was the VGT Gr.1, and not the real car on some kind of special/early build.
Whether the real car gets added in the future or not is unknown.

Also if I recall correctly Genesis aren't an "official partner" of the GT World Series anymore. Only Toyota & Mazda are now, as far as car manufacturers are concerned.

I agree with your last point, but I’d bet seeing the Genesis and Aston Martin hypercars before a Ferrari hypercar.

Obviously things like graphics, physics, track and car modelling, sound, AI are much better now, if PD just combined it with the career progression from GT4 or even GT5 it would be the best game around. I miss city tracks as well, they really covered pretty much every major capital city around the world in GT4-5 allowing for that world travel feeling.

GT5 has endurance races but GT5 just has fake longetivity with B-Spec being forcefully separated from A-Spec with exact same events.

Also the GT5 endurance events are the single worst bit of mandatory game design PD have ever done, since you have to grind them over and over and over to unlock the next one because of the ridiculous XP requirements.

I would 100% rather get all cars from a fresh save of GT7 than try to unlock the A-spec Nurburgring 24H from a fresh save of GT5.

Also PS3 running for 24hours was okay...I feel like a PS5 running for 24hours is all bad for overheating and electrical cost (for me in a High Tier elec cost city it'll cost me nearly $50 to run a PS5 for 24 hours

You technically didn't have to do that, there was an update where you could save your progress in an endurance race.

Level unlockable is something that no one in the fanbase asked for GT.

I wonder if anyone has really tried tinkering with the lobby options? This is likely old news, but you can enable/disable some pretty specific options. I was thinking of a lobby that features cars up to a very modest 450 PP, while not allowing widebodies, engine swaps, nor Ultimate Parts. It'd also be limited to Sport Soft tires. The idea would be for such a lobby to be welcoming for racers on a budget, featuring (likely) very affordable models without the need to splurge on relatively expensive parts. Otherwise, you'd be permitted to go nuts with tuning.

It's funny because they had the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta VGT there when I was there last year, plus a GT rig featuring the car at Watkins Glen. And yeah, I do recall all the assists being on when I tried it last year. I'm actually headed to that show this Sunday, as my dad and I have been attending it almost every year since 2004!

I thought of something PD could do once GT7's update cycle is over, which would make the Event Directory a system actually worth using.

In the older games, completing an event series would award a prize car related to the event. Although this somewhat returned in GT7 as part of the menu book system, it only applied for 3 races of that event type, as that was all we had at launch. (Seems so far away, doesn't it.)

Now, it makes sense that this system hasn't been brought back properly yet, as each new update brings several new events, meaning the bar for completing all races in an event series would constantly be changing. However, once the updates are over and no more events are being added, PD could very easily implement an additional prize car for completing 100% of the events in a series. As it stands, there are zero incentives to completing every event - but prize cars? Especially expensive ones from Hagerty or Brand Central? I reckon that would get a decent amount of people to stick with the game until GT8's arrival.

PD: Best I can do is turn off the servers

Wonder how much that hyper car in the photo will be worth? The question is, when will they release it to the public? Looks like that guy in the seat is having a blast with the wheel, must be nice. Sigh...

That seems like a smart idea there...I was thinking of something similar to that. And they should do something about the liveries we create. Instead of deleting all of them, they need to store them somewhere on their official website. Each user can still view their profile even though the servers will be permanently shut down.

For example in GT sport, I had made almost 700 liveries and after January 31st, when PD shut down GTsport's servers, I could no longer access my profile page there. I lost all my scapes and liveries, I was so upset. All that hard work went to waste, off to the junkyard of old GT debris.
