I am not sure if this is the correct thread but here are some appreciaton and reflex from GT7 after a weekend playing FH5:
-I appreciate more than ever that PD is not doing this FOMO/ seasonal thing for content, at my 40 y.o, time to play (and i general anything outside work) is usually scarse (1 hour, 2 as most per day) and I found that only have 1 day to complete a seasonal or I will lose the chance to get the SF90🥲.
-Livery editor en GT7 is more friendly and far superior on topics like stickers and color placement, I got frustrated trying to do a livery today, even though, it has some cool features, like the ability to crop the stickers that PD could mimic.
-Photomode is also something PD can be proud, FH5 have some interesting filters(and the interface is almost the same that Insomniac has been using on their latest games), but is not even close to the options you have in GT7, is definitely more difficult to get a photorealistic pic in FH5.
Now things that FH5 do great and PD could take notes:
-Car list, I know that PG games leverage from T10 (and viceversa) to boost the modeling and volume of cars, and that quality of modeling is not the same, but there are some really interesring cars (specially daily cars) that I would kill to see in GT7 like almost every VW Golf generation, a modern Unimog, the Cupra Formentor or the datsun 510.
-The detail on enviroments such as trees, vegetation, rocks, water and grass and the interaction with the cars is top, something that GT7 needs to improve, specially the trees and rock textures.
I've been playing Forza Horizon 5 for nearly a week now and I agree with all of your points. For the negative points:
• The FOMO mechanics and seasonal cars in Horizon has always been terrible, I've been trying to get a C8 Z06 but there's never one up for auction. At least there's Horizon Backstage but that still doesn't cut it, so many cars locked away...
• Playing FH5 made me realize the car models and details in GT7 are simply unmatched. The way the halogen lights lit up, the quality of interior details and such in GT7 is just superior.
• I haven't tried to do a livery in FH5 yet but I can tell right away that GT7 Livery Editor is superior due to the fact that there's almost no realistic or detailed community liveries in FH5 available.
As for the Forza Horizon 5 positives:
• Multiplayer is so much fun, the fact that I can race in S1 class against a Civic, Huayra R, Altima and an M8 GTE is just too random and unique. Matchmaking could use some work though, I barely get filled lobbies.
• I actually enjoy the physics, not too arcadey like The Crew Motorfest but also not too realistic like GT7 is. It's very nicely balanced for most cars and fun to drive around.
• Car Selection is pretty much the best in the racing genre and I love the fact that I actually get Drivatars with similar cars for each class or segment. If I pick a CLK GTR, I'll be paired with an F50 GT, McLaren F1, 911 GT1... If I pick a Valkyrie AMR, I'll be paired with an FXX-K, Huayra R, BT62... If I pick an M5, I'll be paired with an Panamera, RS6, E63S and so on.
Both games are great games in their own regards, but they could also use some improvements. Specially GT7's car selection.
