In GTS a shared livery stays how it was when shared and doesn't update itself. I have a few liveries that I can re-open and half the decals are missing, but they're still on the car elsewhere.
In GT7 liveries update themselves whenever the car is loaded somewhere, if a decal is missing it vanishes.
Anyway, some more 2000 Nürburgring 24h liveries are finished, only 12 more and a lot of BoP-work to do for a replica race

Has anyone encountered a bug that breaks livery after a race?
I downloaded the livery that was shared and used it to race with a friend last night.
However, when I tried to use that car today, a random gray line suddenly appeared on the livery that was not there yesterday.
I thought I must be mistaken, so I looked at the photo of the car with that livery on it that the creator had shared. But no such line appeared in the livery of that photo.
Can this be fixed by deleting the local save data as well as the bug where the decals disappear?

Fortunately it was not locked.
And apparently we found the cause. It was not the creator's mistake after all, but a bug in GT7.
The lines I found were preset shapes that the creator had put up.
But for some reason it was not rendering correctly, and parts of the shape were showing up on another layer that was originally pasted above the shape.
By opening the livery editor and moving the cursor to the shape's layer in the layer list, the shape was re-rendered and the original livery was restored.
It was a good thing for me that I was able to solve the problem without having to delete my local save data. But I hope this bug will be fixed soon.
PS: livery corrected in this way will also not reflect the correction if not saved.
When I went back to the main menu of GT Auto without saving after the fix, the broken decals appeared again.

Then I can make a car with just a license plate and tons of people commenting "oh wow beautiful livery! Amazing!" and lots of likes. I'm just like what TF these people talking about? I just don't know what people like so screw them.

I understand you absolutely. But the problem is not with you or your designs, rather it's the layout of the presentation room. This was much better solved in GT Sport, the uploads were simply presented chronologically in the gallery. In addition, you were also informed about new comments and likes, which created greater incentive to visit the menu item. Currently, the presentation room is confusing and nested, I hope that they will revise this and oriented to the old principle of GT Sport.
Working on and sharing liveries without recognition is frustrating. But keep on doing what you like, quality stuff will be rewarded sooner or later.
Anybody else trying to create airbrush-styled liveries? It's quite hard to receive the effects you want and you need lots of layers.

Just finished this one up. You will not find a more detailed example of this livery. Right down to the rivets.

I’m no good at these liveries.
I would recommend to try and copy a few design. I’ve copied a few F1 team and done a Focus WRC. I’ve learnt how to use shapes to make patterns. I think copying is the best way to start.
Also for the glass decals, you can’t add them to the windscreen, or the drivers/passenger glass. Can only add them the rear glass or tailgate glass.

If it's any consolation to your friend, I've been experiencing similar patterns with the majority of liveries I've shared so far - regardless if they are imported or completely new. It's not like GT Sport where I usually got likes and/or reposts within the first 10-20 minutes of them being uploaded, and the lack of a clear notification system means it's harder for me to keep track when someone does appreciate the content I share.
Don't let him get too disheartened by this. I used to feel the same way sometimes on GT Sport whenever a livery I put my heart and soul into didn't get much traction, but now I'm at the stage where it doesn't matter as much as long as I'm happy with how the end result looks. Like @MisterWaffles says, I think it'll help him if he finds another space like this forum to share links and photos of the liveries he's created. He'd certainly be welcome to share them on GTP if he's comfortable doing so.

Killed two birds. Bought 10 2015 Clio, so I could get that achievement, and so I have a car for each livery of the group I did in GTS, and brought over. So cool that you can have a full field of your own cars in a custom race. I know I probably chose to do it with a not so cool car, but it's fun...

So I was making a livery for a runnining Genshin Impact video game joke today and the Firebird was the perfect car to do it on but does anyone know why we can't change the paint colour within the front grille?
It really ruins the look of the livery idea I'm working on and I can't help not notice it every time I look at the front of the car.
Oversight, I never did a livery on this car in GT Sport so wasn't aware of this until now, pics below for reference as livery still needs some decals....
