Decals disappeared from livery!?
I spent hours and hours starting a very complex livery yesterday, I’ve just come to do some more today and everything is gone! 😭 When I choose open design, the livery is displaying correctly on the thumbnail, but when you select it loads just the paint changes and very single decal is missing...www.gtplanet.net
Thanks for responding. So what would be the best way to add my name and flag to an existing livery? Contact the creator, find one that is editable (assuming they exist)?
I also want to change the gloves colour in a suit livery I downloaded and can’t? Is this also blocked? I remember seeing something about a bug on editing suits and helmets.

I don't really know where to put this but since it's livery related I'll try here.
Very disappointed with the way notfications and publication of liveries works in Gran Turismo 7. A friend of mine has just depressed himself that a design he put many hours into yesterday from 2pm to about 12 midinight so far only has 3 likes which of course are his friends (myself) being one of them.
He was recreating an old Ford GT livery with a Touhou Racing combo for the new Ford GT Gr3.
So now he thinks he's a useless designer and probably won't publish any stuff for awhile but it got me thinking, is the disablement of notifications a problem that means designs no longer get attention because we have to go into notifications or manually search for them in game?
I've noticed that my designs I published in the first few days got quite a bit of attention but the Genshin ones from this week so far have only a handful of likes, it does not bother me but my friend feels his pride his hurt for all the hours he put in which I can understand...
Do you think there will be any changes to the livery promotion/search features in one of the coming updates or is it simply that not enough people are doing searches/interested in liveries within Gt7 at the moment and this is how it's going to be?
For reference he posts photo's of the livery too so he is defo doing everything he can to try and get interest in his work.

It's entirely luck based if your design will fetch a lot of likes or not and seeing the amount of awful liveries with a few thousand likes proves that likes ≠ quality, just like in GTS. One of my most complex liveries has like 50 likes in GTS and GT7 combined.
I wouldn't care too much about chasing clout and keep doing stuff. At some point one might get lucky and a livery will kick off, but if not that's how it is.

Has anybody had issues with the color of their decals switching? While making the below livery I made sure to pick the brightest white possible, but after I exited the livery creator I noticed a handful of the decals switched to a blue-white hue. I went back and fixed all of them and they were fine in GT Auto. Then I took all the below pics and published the style without noticing that the hood decal switched back to the blue-white color.
Even more odd is that I never selected that shade during the entire process. Luckily it only has one like and repost (shoutout to TCRHandsomeFrank) so I won't feel bad about deleting it and republishing, just thought it was strange.

I think PD have made a big mistake with the way that decals have migrated from GT Sport to GT7. Not only did private decals not migrate at all, but shared ones have to be re-shared.
Yesterday I was looking for some that were in my collection on Sport, and had some authors that I'd used repeatedly. I only found one author that now has their decals available to collect in 7. If somebody had created 100's of decals in Sport it would take a long time to re-share them all again in 7?

Unless you followed / were followed by thousands on PSN that's just the way it will be.
I had 1100 followers on GT Sport and started again on zero on GT7 so it'll be a slow process for anyone that had built something up on Sport.

I’m all new to this liveries stuff so I’m slowly finding my feet and starting to create a few things. Mainly done a few copies of race cars or other stuff as I have designers block at the minute and can’t seem to find any imagination.
Warp - I hate that decals get all distorted as you move them around the car. Tried to make a simple straight line around the car bottom of the car but as you get to bends the decal warps and you end up with wonky lines.
Panels - love to be able to wrap individual panels rather then having to use multiple shapes to cover say a roof.
Colours - I’d love for the game to have a Eye dropper in colour pallet. Trying to match body paint to some decals is a nightmare I find. Be great to be able to use an eye dropper on a decal and then get a perfect colour match.
SVGs - I understand why the game is using them to keep the decals from been pixelated but the file size is a nightmare. Be nice if they could up the limit to 50kb but I guess it’s small to save server space.

Try to align with camera.
There are color grabbers online, you could take the decal from the GT website and bring it there.
I'd say ~90% of decals are fine with the 15kb limit or can easily be brought below it. I had a 35kb decal recently that I managed to get to 12 or so just by optimizing it a little and running it through SVGOMG.

I've been noticing some of my most liked liveries in GT Sport, sometimes with 50+, when they get imported I'd be lucky to get 10 on one.
I'd say if your friend is worried about not getting any attention, tell him to post his work and the links to it in-game on other socials outside of GT7, like Reddit, Twitter or this forum. It's usually a good way of generating at least some kind of interest in something that isn't getting any attention solely through the game itself.
Certainly beats going to others' content in game and spamming their messages like a guy trying to sell mixtapes in Times Square.
But yes, I have noticed for whatever reason it's harder to gain traction in GT7 than it was in Sport, not sure if it's because the game's population is higher, or the search features are worse. I think it might be a mix of both.

No guarantees it's perfect, though. I usually don't make liveries or replicas, too much work. Not that good at it as a result. I did share the decals I made for the car, you can try your hand at it if you want.
Any chance you can share your monochrome RX-VISION GT3 livery from GT Sport though?

I can put days into a livery and it will get no likes. Then I can make a car with just a license plate and tons of people commenting "oh wow beautiful livery! Amazing!" and lots of likes. I'm just like what TF these people talking about? I just don't know what people like so screw them.
