About to tackle this. However, the payouts are stingy

The GT7 Missions are pretty insane. Don't get me wrong a couple license tests are tricky and S-10 was nuts to Gold. But as a whole these are where the real challenges lie.

Gone With The Wind:
The Bugatti gas mileage one is pretty easy if you just keep it in 2nd the entire time. I got 5.50 miles twice when in first gear. Once I tried 2nd I could carry more speed and I had like 15% tank left after the 5.52 miles.

I think I may try my Z28 Camaro with a Super Charger installed vs the Viper for that drag race.

No idea which car to use for the HSR 30 Min race yet, I'm like 3 seconds back per lap

The F1500T-A one in the rain at Spa, I believe I used all the aids and TCS 1. While you can't hit those cars from behind, if they happen to tap your rear end, you may be okay. There is some SLIGHT wiggle room there.

I can't drift on pavement to save my life, I have Bronze atm for that Viper challenge.

The Sun Also Rises:
The Tomahawk has grip for days. I think I didn't have any assists on at all (I don't recall exactly on that). But whether they are on or off, just abuse all laws of physics like the F1 + NOS license test.

For the cone challenge, position your car so that only half of it is hitting the cones. You'll accelerate much better after the long turn 1, I made it by like 4 seconds doing this, IIRC.

For the 2J one, turn on ALL the assists and I think i used TCS 5 too. #nowthecarisdrivable

I did the Le Mans One Lap Magic on my first attempt, with TCS 1. Don't start in 2nd gear like I did tho, haha.

And yea, the payouts are slim...so far every race/event is like that?

Yeah, don’t know why the payouts are like that when there are a few endurance races. It’s worth it to do the Daily Race sim GT Sport for the payouts. Haven’t seen the GT7 Daily Race rewards.

I did most of the challenges, all licenses gold but this miata challenge is impossible. I have no idea how to tackle it.
Have to use a controller (I wasted a lot of time on my wheel trying) swerve to the right side of the cone in front of you at the start, crank it left and floor it to drift into the cones around in a counter clockwise circle shape. This will get you the 2nd and 3rd cone, the 4th (corner) come you can either smack with the ass end of the car, but your drift will be ending here. Straight line through cone 5, and then e brake to hit 6 (next corner cone) then slide through 7 and 8.

It's a bit of luck based, but once you get the general pattern and drift idea, you'll get a feel for it.

Those are rookie numbers. I made it all the way to the top of the hill before Angstkurve which is about 6.5 miles. That hill will really determine how much further you get. Getting up and over that hill will be my next challenge. If I can carry enough speed to get around Angstkurve, there's another slight downhill section that I bet will result in upwards of 7 miles.

Remember that full throttle at low rpm is more efficient than part throttle at higher rpm. And aerodynamic drag doesn't really hurt a car until above about 60 mph. In almost all ICE cars, the most fuel efficient speed is about 55-60 mph in top gear. So, if you can go 55 while at the same rpm as at idle in first or second gear...it's way more efficient to be at the higher speed even though you're using more throttle.

In this Bugatti challenge, you need to spend as much time in 7th gear as possible and keep the rpms as low as possible without popping out of gear. Try to only accelerate while going downhill because it's more efficient. And if you ever find yourself coasting down a long hill - like the beginning of the track - tap the handbrake quickly to pop the car into neutral so the gearing doesn't slow the car down. Normally, idling in neutral down a hill is less efficient than simply letting off the pedal because it's still burning idle fuel, but in this challenge where we need to carry as much speed as possible to make it up the hills, it's more efficient over distance to idle in neutral and remove gearing drag from the equation.

That was on full power, cause I'm a dummy. I set it to a more conservative number and once I passed the Gold mark, I just floored it out of spite

Exactly. 30 laps. In the rain. Should be as much as these 5 lap Championship races.
That race was fun as hell but took forever. The R8 handled it no problem on two sets of hard tires. Ran the whole race on lean, only one pit stop required.

The Maximum Velocity mission was sneaky cause I had to not draft the car in front for a bit so that I ended up drafting the front car all the way through the finish line.

If anyone has tips on golding the drift challenges, regarding controller/wheel setups to make it easier/smoother, I'm all ears!

I’ve got no drifting skills in these games. I just flick that left stick back and forth and visualise the drift. :embarrassed:

Doing these have been enjoyable so far although starting to hit the limit of my ability I think 😣 (pad user) on Moby Dick

All gold so far but beyond the horizon GT500 on Fuji seems impossible to me, I get 3rd but 1st/2nd are miles ahead!

Also struggling on Tsukuba in the rain doing Eco, lose so much time on the last bend.

I play with a steering wheel and found the drift missions very difficult. A very small area where you hold the car in drift. This area increases enormously when you do it with the gamepad.

I have done the upgrade the mini cooper to 360pp or above and then I went to the race with just minis think it is sunday cup.
I had to reduce power (I bought a power reducer) to gain entry to the race.
Now I don't have a say where I start so off we go, the car in first place takes off and as much as I close in on it I can never catch it! it is like it has a 100 more bhp. I can't see a way past it, Has anyone else struglled with this? I may have to settle for second as I don't want to cut across the grass as that is not sporting but by it is getting tempting.

In Moby Dick missions does anybody have a good strat for the eco 2000GT challenge? I’m really struggling here (I’ve done everything else in this set other than the 30lap race) but I’m .700s out.

Of those in my friends list people only 4 people have beaten it and all by less than .100 so it’s very close.

Bit late but I got it by .095 lol the section in the middle with the tyre arch, when you come out the hairpin stay in 2nd through the easy right and carry as much speed into the last hairpin as you can, it's a late apex so run wide on entry then cut back in, took a few tries but got it by a ball hair 🤣 I'm stuck on the pass mission on Moby Dick, gold on everything except this I've been trying for weeks lol

Edit: I meant second last hairpin

Tsukba Use a 4WD car Ford Focus Rally GR3 on hard tires made this race a lot easier.

The Human Comedy races were such a blur, think I’ll revisit a few. Back then, tackled the Kyoto race in my Super Taikyu Mazda Demio. Barely won that by blocking the 911 at the end, plus, the diesel was very frugal. Autopolis, Kyoto and Deep Forest, will be my Once more agains.
