I think they're just really generous with these things around updates to take advantage of the big blip in people coming back and playing. It will quickly go back to normal distributions, 100% bad prizes all the time.
Yeah probably. I 9 times out of 10 get the lowest prize, I think my best apart from the 1 million credits is a Ferrari FX in blue. It looks terrible in Blue imo but I suppose I can sell it eventually when they can be bothered to add that feature. Very short sighted decision but they probably felt it would be better for Micro transaction sales.

For what it worth, SimCity (March 2013) did that. It was a online-only game and it was catastrophe when it launches (just search for reviews).
They wrote original server in Java and took 6 months to reimplement all of it in C++ to put it in the game itself, and released offline mode in January 2014.

It's developer's choice to reimplement the server in the game itself, or just release standalone servers for players to run (like that of Minecraft).

Given that much of GT7's game engine (physics simulation, AI etc) is run at local (well, offline arcade mode anyone?) they only need to move garage, car tuning and status (odometer, wear, dirt) to a local save (oh so difficult like GT123456 never did that) and put a snapshot of activity (race) list on local and it's done. If they choose to do it.

By the way I bet the event entry screen is a webpage(-like widget) and they even didn't properly clearing the cache before redraw so you see previous circuit on it sometimes ...

I would not know how to point it out to you, but I have seen in other forums and others that there are people who defend that system or who simply do not care

On the other hand, there are also people who think the same as me, that it is a mistake, because it really is.

It's true, we have to see what will happen to Sport, although it could also be that they don't patch it and let it die, worse in the event that they patch it, what do I do with Gran Turismo 7?, I wait between 5-10 years to stick with it and then another 5-10 years until it's fully upgraded?
This is a mistake, there's no denial on that, but don't call us fanboys just because you've seen some people on other forums defending this, not everyone is a biased fanboy, and not everyone likes this DRM thing. And as I said, most of the people here are anything but GT fanboys.

The chances of them not patching the game is really high. If they don't patch GTS to disable DRM, then all of us would have the perfect opportunity and right to protest against PD, so they can fortunately patch the game for us.

The real bump in the road here is microtransactions.

Anyone notice the changes to the penalty system? I notice it says changes to minor contact algorithm but I guess that means NOT applying a penalty - Unlike stuff like this clown (luckily I didn't get a penalty)

Force Feedback has been neutered by this update. Terrible design choice.
For the little ffb we have as it is, the 3 main supported wheels getting the love , how is my car bouncing up n down, drivers bouncing around heading to the Bridge at Nurby and I feel absolutely nothing through my T300rs. naff update as far as I'm concerned :)

Has there ever been mention of smoothing out the replays on PS5? This is something I enjoy watching, especially after a good online race, but it's ruined by big drops in frame rate

Even the supported wheels have been neutered. Fanatec DD is apparently also without feel or weight now.

I'm glad to see that there are people who think that it's really a mistake, that Fanboy thing is aimed at those people who defend these policies, obviously not all of them, who are anti-consumer or for those who don't care

I also agree that there are people who don't like DRM, and proof of this is those who signed that petition.

That's why I said it, but of course some of us wouldn't want to wait 5-10 years for them to patch the game by removing the DRM, I say it for those of us who haven't bought it YET

I mean I'm completely on the other side of the fence - I'd prefer online only to people hacking/cheating

What the hell are these payouts for the new events.... Why are they so reluctant too add more events that actually earn decent amount of money.... Thers still only 4 events that make decent-ish money and therefore are worth doing... There is no point in doing other ones since it'll be basicly a waste of time incomewise... ugh.

The real bump in the road here is microtransactions.

Sure, perhaps they should consider make GT free-to-play and sell us cars with microtransactions ... or perhaps they experimented in GT Sport and discovered that selling full copy is (was?) still more profitable?

It would be great if this GT (GT7) becomes the perpetual upgrading "service" version, and they occasionally release paid DLCs to reclaim some bucks.
Anyway I know I won't preorder the next GT full-number title, should they decide to publish one ...

To prevent people from grinding, I guess. You could rubberband your controller for a 24 hours SSRX race and earn tons of credits, and we just can't have people "unfairly" earning credits in a singleplayer game. That'd hurt microtransaction sales!

$20 for a 1,0000,000 credits and some single cars being 20 times that. GT7 doesn't market in micortransactions, these are super macro transactions

Not aimed directly at you @Sonic939 but you are all over this board this morning......

I do not understand why people are all up in arms about what the developer thought would be best for their game. If they wanted it to be online, that is their choice. If they wanted to have microtransactions, also their choice.

GT Sport was always online. It was a requirement of the game. Why don't people wait a week or two to see reactions to a game before they purchase it? Is FOMO that much of a thing? I expected GT7 to be always online because GT Sport was. I would have been surprised if it wasn't.

Asking a developer to change the game that THEY designed to work how YOU think it should is nonsense! They obviously chose this direction for a reason.

Now I do understand the complaints about the amount of content. Yes, I would have loved to have more content out of the box but it wouldn't matter to me because I get at most 1-2 hours to play a day. It would take a while to get through all of the original content for me anyway. Do we want developers to ship a game and not update it ever? Like it used to be?

Can we just have some patience and let PD do their thing? We will get new content/updates when they are ready to give it to us. The only update I am grateful for is 1.08 and that was so I could play again. Everything else is a gift! You cannot compare GT Sport updates and GT7 updates. They are two different games.

If you do not like how PD created their game, create your own and sell it to the masses! And then they can complain about all of the things you wanted in the game that they think you should change.......

Why can't we just enjoy what we have?

know I used too feel the metal strips at tokyo only when turning for some reason, but don't even feel that anymore. sad, ffb adds so much too a game. I mean, forza dudes have it sussed what's wrong wi PD? :) , they have vibration effects through the wheel just like what you get from the gamepad, why can't pd add these or just don't want too make this the best they can.

Because we paid full price for a game with content witheld, then have to be grateful that they add updates as new content.Whats not to like? Its nothing like previous GT`s content wise.
