I understand those who wished for a proper racetrack Grand Valley but the "brown" "ugly" "colorless" comments make no sense to me,GT7 is a great looking game and so is the new Grand Valley

I personally prefer more (realistic) “race track” styled tracks rather than the “street/highway” style tracks, so seeing Grand Valley in the new ocean side highway environment really disappointed me… don’t get me wrong, the new environment looks stunningly beautiful, but it’s such a extreme opposite of what Grand Valley used to be, it’s off putting. Imho they ruined it. A version of Grand Valley in the style of they did with Deep Forest and Trail Mountain would have been much more appropriated.

Honestly, they could bring a more classic layout back, the new GV is kinda unique tho,Gran Turismo barely has any tracks on a highway coast.
Sierra is kinda close but Sierra is a terrible track

The most successful casinos pay out, eventually. Welcome to business/economics 101.
Kaz does whatever he wants, you get what you're given. Welcome to Polyphony Digital.

Grand Valley's new layout is very close to the original with the last few corners changed to resemble of the last ones from Midfield raceway. Not a bad track for GT7 me thinks. As for the new AI, I can see that it is a good start but nothing extraordinary. It took PD more than a year to make it work on 3 tracks and a few different cars, and for the 1 to 1 trial it is obvious that the AI is boosted once it gets gapped by close or over 0,2". A fake demo of an AI that isn't as good as they make it seem. My 5c.
glad im not the only one thinking this, & parts of the middle section reminds me of Autumn Ring with the elevation changes mid-corner..

On PS4......is it worth me upgrading to PS5 ?

Also, the Pallas model shown in GT7 has a Semi Automatic transmission so it doesn't have a clutch pedal, but in GT7 is impossible to make a gear change without pressing the clutch.
In GT7 when you are in manual transmission AND you are in a steering/pedals rig every transmission will use the clutch, it is the way of the hardware setup, when you are in controller there is no clutch, you just shift as you go...

While I agree with this, I'd argue the changes to Deep Forest and Trial Mountain are not as big, since the scenery stayed the same. Yes, Deep Forest got a hairpin (which actually improves the track imo), and Trial Mountain got a more technical chicane. Imagine though if Deep Forest was on some countryside road near fields, and Trial Mountain would be near a beach. They would feel way different.
First of all, apologies for the late reply. I've been busy all day and also forgot about your comment.

Anyway, I think you're right to an extent; the changes of course aren't as big as Grand Valley's changes. With that said, there's more changes to the tracks than you think. I mean, swapping out the chicane on Trial Mountain and replacing a swooping corner on Deep Forest for a longer straight and hairpin changes the flow of the track. Which can really throw people off after years of driving on the same courses.

and the courses did get some other changes aside from those, the scenary did get altered. Deep Forest for instance is missing some trees on some of its corners and had the remaining branches cut back. Which makes it feel less like a Deep Forest as a result. Trial Mountain has longer straights to accommodate the extra cars, has different mountain type backgrounds than in the previous games, there's things like trees and bushes added in some places that weren't there before, and the tunnel on the back straight now extends to the top of the hill.

Once again, I'm not saying it's the same length of change as Grand Valley; I'm just telling you that there was a bit more going on with the other tracks than you think.
Plus why did they have to change the scenery of Grand Valley Speed? Why couldn't they just release it as it was, but with better graphics and or only small track adjustments?
I just said why they probably did it. They changed the track to now be placed in a real-world location; one of California's mountain roads. They did it because they wanted to change the track and fulfil their desire to make a track based on Highway 1.

and before you say anything, yes; I know little to noone asked Polyphony to do this. and if there was people that wanted Highway 1 adapted as a fictional race track; they probably were NOT asking for a legacy GT track to be combined with it. This isn't the reason people like and it's not the best reason to do something like this, but that's the possible reason behind it.

Got a 4 star roulette ticket yesterday. Paid me 500k credits. Bought the new Porsche to complete the new menu book, got a 5 star ticket. It gave me a Porsche VGT car. So that's like 1M credits for that one. Bought the new Honda to complete the new menu book and that gave me an F1 car worth 1M credits. Overall a very successful roulette wheel and payout just for playing the game and buying the cars.
Holy crap! Go buy a lottery ticket my friend! 😄

Best update yet, it was in deed a big update like kaz said it would be, i like the new look at Grand valley will be great for vr, cars maybe could be more exciting, i would like challanger demon, 812 superfast or Lexus lfa but i am hopefully it Will arrive soon, sophy is massive upgrade to standard ai, even on expert they are way faster than base ai on hard, just pick up my psvr2 headset and sure its going to be blast,

Yeah good points, I feel like PD just went too far in changing the original track. Like this track released as a separate one would have been just fine I think. Track is actually very fun in sports cars and the less aerodynamic race cars. But yesterday I did the Gr1 race they have on this track, and I gotta say that it is probably one of the worst tracks for those cars in GT7 I am afraid (well maybe except for oval tracks), just too many slow speed technical bits, so that the aero doesn't really work too well, which is accurate. Even the odd Alsace feels better, it at least has quite many tricky medium speed turns that are quite fun in gr1 cars.

Like PD should have added a gr3 or gr4 race instead imo. Or even better, a Honda RA272 one make race, that would have been epic. Or a 'new' series, race cars from before 1970 or 1980 🤔 Reward could have been then maybe 180-220K for that race. The other race choices are good, I like the fact that they favored sports car races over slapping gr3 and gr4 races both.

Any touch to other cars or completely off road will cancel clean race
Thanks for the quick reply.

I did that race 4 times and thought the 4th time was clean for sure, so I started wondering if it was just not available.

Fun fact: that particular Grand Valley race is unironically pretty decent for grinding.
4 laps, 1 minute per lap (using a maxed R35), 82.5k credits with the CRB comes out to 1,237,500 credits/hr. It's not coming near the Big Four, but for a quick burst of racing it's pretty damn good.

Unplayable? Really?
Wow.
Some parts of spa went below 15fps. Even freezes for one second on some turns.
Is impossible to go fast in these conditions.
The join of the old and the new nurburing is a problematic part too. Fps drops to 15fps too

I have a PS4 and have very few problems with it.

What view do you use? I notice that the views with rear mirror in the top are more fps demanding.
With the roof or cabin view there are less problems with the performance, but is far to be perfect

I drive with cabin view.

Can anyone tell from the photos if the Carrera we're getting is the 2.7 liter or the 2.8 liter? Would have been nice to get the '74 Turbo RS, but if the one we're getting is the 2.8 liter that's the difference between a barely 200hp car, to almost a 300hp car at base. Meaning the difference between it being able to grind Sarthe and not when fully upgraded. Love the iconic livery, but I don't know enough about pre-930's to know whether that livery was only used on the 2.7, so any info from those more knowledgeable would be appreciated!

It's not the currency, per se, it's the currency combined with the extreme cost of EVERYTHING in the game. God help those poor souls that bought the game after the Tomahawk exploits/scripts were squashed; this game is a total non-starter if you didn't get those "easy" credits, unless all you do is Sport (in which case there's a better game... Sport itself, lol)
I have had the game since 3 weeks after launch.
I never ran a script and I rarely lack funds in game. And I don't like to grind so most of my driving is racing in sport mode.

And still I am not bothered by the economics. I can also see that the unicorns are expensive. But otherwise they wouldn't be unicorns, right?

Well that's not cool man. I haven't had anything as mad as that happen.
I get the PS5 is much more powerful graphically, but the PS4 is still excellent.
I only play on a 1080p tv and to be honest I just love driving around - I've never studied frames per second or anything like that.
Maybe you ought to go sniff out a bargain upgrade my friend 👍
