I did a little bit of driving this morning to try out some of the changes in the update.
One thing that caught my eye were the changes to the grip level in the rain on the dry line. To give it a try, I took a run through the Gr.3 event at Red Bull Ring -- you know, the 7-lap one that is wet from start to finish -- with the Ferrari 458 Gr3. car.
My impressions: I found the dry line had noticeably more grip than in the Nations Cup race last Saturday, especially coming out of Wurth. Before the update, that was always a sketchy part of the track, but today I was able to put the power down early without the back slipping out at all.
Another thing I'm interested in are the changes related to using analog sticks on the controller, a that's my main input mode. I haven't really noticed any difference there, though -- at least in the Red Bull Ring race.
I also put in a few laps in the F3500-A for the time trial. I found that car really hard to manage, but I'm guess that has more to do with the car than the controller.
I'll have to do some more driving to see if I notice any difference with the controller. So far, the effects seem pretty subtle.
