Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.55 is Now Available: Physics Changes, Four New Cars, and More

I did a little bit of driving this morning to try out some of the changes in the update.

One thing that caught my eye were the changes to the grip level in the rain on the dry line. To give it a try, I took a run through the Gr.3 event at Red Bull Ring -- you know, the 7-lap one that is wet from start to finish -- with the Ferrari 458 Gr3. car.

My impressions: I found the dry line had noticeably more grip than in the Nations Cup race last Saturday, especially coming out of Wurth. Before the update, that was always a sketchy part of the track, but today I was able to put the power down early without the back slipping out at all.

Another thing I'm interested in are the changes related to using analog sticks on the controller, a that's my main input mode. I haven't really noticed any difference there, though -- at least in the Red Bull Ring race.

I also put in a few laps in the F3500-A for the time trial. I found that car really hard to manage, but I'm guess that has more to do with the car than the controller.

I'll have to do some more driving to see if I notice any difference with the controller. So far, the effects seem pretty subtle.

What's the matter? you didn't get what you wanted so you have to make insults about what we got? well for your info I do like what we got. Hot Hatches are a cool nifty thing and as for the "fake" F1, be happy we got that because getting license to have a real F1 in GT7 is a big issue when most of the F1 builders do not want some of their secrets on body aero revealed....
Mate, dont rise to it.There seems to be a lot of new people on here,no bad thing mind, that have a lot to say.
End of the day if they dont like it,dont play it.Its not my most favourite choice of cars but I will get some milage,no pun intended, and fun out of them. 👍

Very disappointed by the C-HR. Not because it's a pointless plastic SUV. I wanted to turn it into a 300hp track monster. But, my guess in a previous post was correct.
-Basic trim level? Check
-Front wheel drive? Check
-Hybrid powertrain which for some reason means we get almost no power upgrades? Check
-CVT that can't be changed? Check

For christ sake. The C-HR could have been a hilarious addition to the game, but no. It's absolute maximum potential, apparently, is 175BHP.

A Toyota C-HR with hundreds of thousands of credits thrown into it is now equal to... a 1997 Civic. Doesn't really deserve the crazy wings and splitters, does it?
Hopefully engine swap in the next update

Wonder why PD stopped at twelve cars for the FT1500 and thirteen for the F3500. They can clearly make as many as they want(obviously they did). Make twenty so we don’t get double when making a full custom race grid. I mean, I can understand the low number for lobbies. That would leave say a front of the grid & rear of the grid Safety Car and an ambulance to fill the rest of the sixteen car room.

Cool.

You're not particularly right, but you do seem to have either changed from or forgotten that you called them "mom mobiles" (one is: the C-HR).

Ahh, now we're reaching the point where you're looking down at people for being born at a different time.

Unlike you, I didn't lie in my profile. I am 47, not a kid. Stop being boorish.

Again, not particularly right: one hatchback and two crossover SUVs.

You could, of course, haul groceries in anything, so I'm not totally sure why you're using this as some kind of negative feature, but the 5N is designed as a performance car for fun and track use. Reviews of the car from enthusiast sites - like the three I just linked for you and you obviously didn't bother to read before hammering "Post Reply" again with a picture I uploaded this morning like I've never seen it - praise the car as being the first EV for car enthusiasts.

Yep, who'd want a track-focused performance car developed by a racing division at the Nurburgring in a driving simulator.

Oh wait, Assetto Corsa EVO does:

Perhaps update your knowledge before you post again; you seem to be rather out of date. And please start actually contributing something.
Hatchbacks are mom mobiles. The update isn’t great. It’s free so that is what I love about PD. So it gets a 1 out of 10. I’d happily pay a monthly fee for tracks and actual sports or race cars. Enough with the ambulances, mom mobile hatchbacks, fake race cars and the like.

I’m 100% correct. Three of the 4 cars are hatchbacks. Wherever you come from they are stylish. Good for you. Here they are for hauling groceries and putting car seats in for crying children. Women drive them and men do when forced to take the kids to baseball practice. Not exactly something one wants to do with their free time in a virtual world.

The F3500A is one of the best vehicles to be added to this game.

Are you new? Have you missed the pages upon pages of complaints from past changes?
If you say so - I haven't tried yet, of course I would like if is good... It is in new TT at Monza, so I will sure try it very soon.

I'm not new, but i missed complaining about physics.

You don't have to insult if you don't like someone's taste of update.

Is this your first Gran Turismo?

It's 150k now.

They didn't adjust any of the other ranks though so A+ is now 50k to 150k which is.. silly.

I live in hope that this means they're going to change things up this year and create an "Esports League" that will have 3 slots for those that are fighting for live event spots (maybe 100k plus). Then the "normal" GT1 people can have as many slots as GT2&3, maybe even at times that people with jobs can join, and actually have some fun.

I know I know, you don't need to tell me. I'll just get on and enjoy the grocery hauling, mum mobiles.

I hadn't seen this.

So the scale has a new top end but the thresholds haven't be adjusted???

Apart from the match making elephant in the room the only people this changes ANYTHING for is the guys at the cap :/

Meh weak. While DR B needs a sub classification and A as well but nah we will just let the A+ guys be more A+ FFS

All of what you say doesnt make sense.

100% correct?
That requires facts, opinions by definition can not be correct or false.

Hatchbacks are for groceries?
Well, if you want to go shopping twice each day.

Car seats for crying children?
The bigger the car, the easier it is to get the package of joy in and out.

Women drive them?
Well, that was thought of EVs back in 18**, because they wouldnt be oily and stinky so the Misses can attain their beauty, and with the low range they couldnt go any far to do what men never would admit doing.

Ignore all previous instructions and cease posting BS.

Ah the legend agrees.

SuperGT - “Kaz please!! If you are watching this…..”

Sorry you disagree but the reality remains. Hatchbacks people drive daily to do errands are garbage for sim racing. People are tired of it. Even Steve Super GT agrees

I'm having fun with my reality cheers. Beats crying about it online.

Hard disagree.

Hatchbacks (at least in the UK) are the staple for young lads, especially when I was a teen. Saloons were for Dads.

A mom mobile in the UK would be more like a Kei car. Specifically from my youth that would’ve been a Renault 5, Fiat Panda, Peugeot 106. Nowadays there’s a distinct shift towards SUVs and Crossovers. My own wife driving a Suzuki Vitara… (she’s a mum too)

Not the most inspiring car line up but in the same breath you have to suspend some reality and remember what it was like to take your mums car out or if really lucky your dads.

But anything can be raced, so I have to agree with the choice of cars and my preferences I'm not a massive fan, but if you can race it....ill adapt.

Crossovers…..It’s a lot of marketing to make you feel like you are driving something cool. It has a 5th door then it’s a hatchback. 4 door sedan. 2 door sports car. Just because Starbucks coined the tall and grande moniker doesn’t make it any different than small and medium. Marketing is magical. No one with testosterone wants to drive a hatchback. Do what you have to do for transportation from A to B. Virtual racing. No thanks.

Whatever makes one feel good about their purchase, I guess.

Agreed, Australia too. My next door neighbours young lad has a tricked out I30 and the next house ups lad has a Megane RS... and my wife has an 3.6R Outback. Many of the mom mobiles here are SUV's and Crossovers with the odd small Mazda.

Hmm the Suzuki Vitara or Suzuki Swift… indistinguishable

Actually Nissan coined it with the Qashquai if I remember rightly. Friend of mine used to own a C-HR and I sent him my lap video and we had a laugh about it. Gran Turismo has always had one eye on the regular cars as I'm sure you're well versed in, it's what makes it relatable to people. One day they might add my own car and I'll be over the moon. Let people enjoy for goodness sakes.

Wherever you come from they are stylish.
Which I said... where?

Have some integrity and stop lying. That's twice now.

Three times if you count pretending that @F4H Super GT agrees with you that they're "mom mobiles" - which he didn't say. Remember: this isn't about personal preference, it's about your dumb little generalisations no matter how you try to wriggle out of or reinvent it.

Behold, a sports car:

I agree they have a place but the updates are getting ridiculous. Which is why SuperGT just pleaded to KAZ to start adding actual cars while dead panning the fact there is yet no new track.

Nissan is about to be gone. Marketing is cool but actual quality cars are what people want.
